CM resents vandalism on bandh day; Seeks reports from CS, DGP

Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy on Tuesday expressed his displeasure over vandalism occurred during bandh observed by the YSR Congress in protest against the arrest of its president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy.

The Chief Minister sought explanations from the Chief Secretary and Director General of Police on the death of a driver of a private vehicle in the attack by the agitators. He also directed them to order an inquiry into the incident and take stringent action against the culprits.

Lives & Assets of people will be in danger if Jagan becomes CM: Thulasi

Stating that a good mother would never support a wayward son, PCC official spokesperson Dr N Thulasi Reddy has said that there would be no safety to lives, assets of the people if the YSR Congress wrests power in the State. He also alleged that the BJP was colluded with the YSRCP and therefore it was extending support to its president and Kadapa MP Y S Jaganmohan Reddy.

Four Forest officials transferred

The State government has issued a GO transferring four officials of the Forest department.

K. Sekhar Reddy, Assistant Conservator of Forests (WL) and Venkateswara Zoological Park, Tirupati was transferred and posted as Divisional Forest Officer of Adilabad vice D. Bheema, on transfer, was posted as Divisional Forest Officer of Nizamabad Division.

Congress has nothing to do with Jagan problems: CLP

US troops parachuted into North Korea : official

A senior US official has revealed that the US and South Korean special forces have been parachuting into North Korea to collect intelligence on underground military installations.

Brig. Gen. Neil Tolley, commander of US special forces in South Korea, said in a conference in Florida recently that Pyongyang had built thousands of tunnels since the Korean war, reported The Telegraph citing Japan-based magazine The Diplomat.

The Gujarat High Court today indicated that it might hand over a case of custodial torture, involving IPS officer Subhash Trivedi, to an independent probe agency after the complainant backtracked from his stand and wanted to withdraw the case. Justice Anant Dave has shown strong indication of entrusting the custodial torture case of Vishal Singala against Jamnagar DSP Trivedi to independent investigating agency like the CBI.

Pak authorities step up security for Afridi in jail

Pakistani authorities today stepped up security in jail for a doctor convicted of helping the CIA track Osama bin Laden after an intelligence agency reported he faced a threat from other prisoners. The intelligence agency submitted a report to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Amir Haider Khan Hoti that Shakeel Afridi faced threats within the Central Jail in Peshawar, where he is being held after his conviction by a court in the tribal belt.

Naidu questions CBI for not arresting KVP
