HRD Minister Mr. Kapil Sibal said that the new world offers ample opportunities for those who are ready to face the challenge of change. In fact, only those will be successful and will survive who sense the change and know the art of benefiting from it.

It is our responsibility that we should innovate something and give it to this world which has given us so much. Mr. Sibal was delivering the fourth convocation address of Maulana Azad National Urdu University. Chancellor of the University Dr. Saiyida Saidain Hameed presided over the convocation function.

14 killed as trains collide in Poland

Polish Interior Minister Jacek Cichocki has announced that 14 people have been confirmed dead in a train collision in the country’s southern province of Silesia.

“At present, the death toll in this train catastrophe has risen to 14,” said Cichocki, speaking at the crash site as rescue operations were underway overnight .

The accident occurred on Saturday night when a train en route to the southern city of Krakow collided with another train which was travelling on the same track to the capital Waraw from the southeastern city of Przemysl.

Man’s genitals chopped off in Bihar

A man’s genitals were chopped off by a woman and two of her family members for asking them to return his money, police in Bihar said Sunday adding the victim is now battling for life at a hospital.

According to police, the victim, Ram Biriksh Prasad, 35, is a resident of Ushwaha Tola of Kemai village in Nawada district, about 140 km from here.

The man’s private parts were chopped off in his village by a woman named Pratima Devi along with two of her family members, said police official P.C. Yadav.

Taking steps to prevent fire at corporate hospitals: Minister

ACB sleuths raid excise officials residences

Officials of Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) sleuths today conducted raids at the residences of excise officials in a liquor syndicate row at various places in Andhra Pradesh.

Separate teams of ACB Officials conducted the raids at various places in Hyderabad, Khammam, Warangal and Chittoor districts.

Several documents were seized from a top excise official”s residence at Hanumkonda in Warangal District. Searches were also conducted at the residences of a Circle Inspector in Warangal and Chittoor Districts. UNI

Chiranjeevi is clueless about Rajya sabha seat

Congress leader K. Chiranjeevi on Friday said that he had no information about the allotment of a Rajya Sabha ticket to him by the Congress High Command.

During an interaction with mediapersons in the Assembly lobbies on Friday, Mr Chiranjeevi said, “I have not received any information in this regard. I cannot comment on things about which I have no information. I will abide by whatever decision the party high command takes.”

Mr Chiranjeevi tried to avoid controversy and appeared very cautious during the interaction.

‘Baby Falak has survived,’ declare doctors; discharge likely soon

India’s prayers have finally been answered. Doctors looking after two-year-old Baby Falak at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Delhi have said that the toddler “has survived.” She was brought to the hospital on January 18 in a severely battered and bruised condition. After over 45 days of treatment, she is now out of coma and has been off ventilator support for the past five days.

Obama threatens Iran with military attack over N-energy case

The United States has once again threatened Iran with a military strike over the country’s nuclear energy program while warning Israel of the unintended consequences of attacking the Islamic Republic.

In an interview with Atlantic magazine on Friday, US President Barack Obama said the US is “not taking any option off the table” in order to stop Iran’s nuclear energy program.

“It includes a military component. And I think people understand that,” Obama said three days before a meeting with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Washington.

CIA ex-chief lauds Stuxnet virus use against Iran

A former CIA chief has praised the US use of Stuxnet virus to sabotage Iran’s nuclear energy program, noting that the measure legitimized using malware as a weapon to cause destruction.

“We have entered into a new phase of conflict in which we use a cyber weapon to create physical destruction,” said Michael Hayden, former director of Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), in an interview with CBS television to be broadcast on Sunday.

“This was a good idea, alright?” he added.

Jamaat-e-Islami opposes legalizing sex relations

Jamaat-e-Islami Hind (JIH) has opposed any move to legalize same-sex relations calling it shameful and unnatural development which will destroy the family system. Syed Jalaluddin Umari, President of JIH has called upon people to oppose it.
