Hyderabad, December 03: As many as 21 legislators loyal to YSR Congress party chief Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy will vote against the Congress government during the no-confidence motion in the assembly.

The legislators including 19 of the ruling Congress party attended a meeting with Jaganmohan Reddy at his residence here to chalk out the party’s strategy on the no-confidence motion moved by main opposition Telugu Desam Party (TDP).

After the meeting, legislator P. Subhash Chandra Bose told reporters that they would abide by Jagan’s decision on the issue.

Male, December 03: The government of Maldives has rejected UN calls for debating the practice of flogging women guilty of committing adultery in the island nation.

“What’s there to discuss about flogging?” Foreign Minister Ahmed Naseem told Haveeru newspaper.

“There is nothing to debate about in a matter clearly stated in the religion of Islam. No one can argue with God.”

UN human rights chief Navi Pillay called Friday on the Maldives government to end the practice of flogging women committed of having extra-marital sex.

Mumbai, December 03: Queen of controversies Veena Malik may or not have done a nude shoot for an Indian magazine but this time it may not be a hands-down win for Pakistan`s custodians of morality because her admirers seem to have multiplied over the year.

Malik, who last ran into trouble for not playing miss-goodie-two-shoes on Indian reality show `Bigg Boss IV` earlier this year, is back in the spotlight for allegedly posing nude for the cover of FHM India magazine with an ‘ISI’ tattoo on her arm.

In a survey conducted by the weekly, Hrithik beat some ‘heavyweights’ and emerged as the winner of the 50-strong list.

According to a daily, the ‘Zindagi Milegi Na Dobara’ star won by the biggest ever margin in the history of the men`s list. Hrithik also toppled last year’s winner, Ranbir Kapoor who incidentally came sixth in this year’s list.

London, December 03: Singer Beyonce Knowles is expecting her first child with husband Jay Z and says she is ready to begin the new chapter of her life.

“It`s exciting! I know it`s gonna be difficult at times. I know that, like my mother, I`m gonna get on my child`s nerves but I`m just ready! I`m ready for the next chapter,” contactmusic.com quoted her as saying.

Hyderabad, December 03: They stand tall, unnoticed as sentinels of the glorious past. Though they form an important part of the city’s heritage, the clock towers are a neglected lot. Most of the them are maintained by the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation’s Heritage wing. But it seems there is no preservation nor tourism promotion for these monuments.

Hyderabad, December 03: A Qatar Airways flight had to make an emergency landing at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport at Shamshabad, near here, in the early hours of Friday.

The flight was on its way to Bangalore from Doha. With inclement weather at the Bangalore airport, the flight could not land there. After alerting the Air Traffic Control (ATC) at Bangalore, the crew of the flight diverted it to Hyderabad and made an emergency landing at the RGIA around 5 am, sources said.

Hyderabad, December 03: The Congress and YS Jagan Mohan Reddy camp are preparing to deal with the no-confidence motion for which the TDP has given notice on Thursday.

Though there is no immediate threat to Kiran Kumar Reddy government, he is doing his best to ensure that a majority of the Congress MLAs who are in Jagan Mohan Reddy camp would come home and back him.

Hyderabad, December 03: To secure the release of Indians jailed in the United Arab Emirates, a team of three members drawn from various Indian migrant councils will negotiate with the Indian embassy in the UAE and jail officials there.

Speaking at a press conference here on Friday, Voice of Indian Emigrants president Raghu Ram Vallamsetty said, “On the occasion of UAE National Day (December 2), we are going to visit the Dubai and Sharjah jails and negotiate with the officials there the release of our prisoners in conformity with Arab laws.”

Islamabad, December 03: Pakistani actor Veena Malik, best known for her participation in the Indian reality show Bigg Boss, was at the centre of a controversy today after she was featured nude on the cover of FHM India magazine, sporting a tattoo with the word ‘ISI’ on her arm.

Though Veena, 33, denied posing nude for the magazine and said it was a “morphed picture”, FHM India editor Kabeer Sharma said the magazine had a video of the photo shoot and an email from her as proof.

Hyderabad, December 3: A 22 year old woman hanged herself to death in Falaknuma area. According to police sources the woman suffered with mental trauma.

One year ago Yuvati alias Somyalata married to Arvind. The girl who lived in joint family earlier faced difficulty in living with her husband.

According to police sources she had to remain alone in the house after her husband went to work. She was suffering from aloofness which consequently led to mental trauma. She resorted to the extreme step and committed suicide.

Dead body recovered, suspicion on wife

Hyderabad, December 3 (Siasat News): Police has recovered the dead body of a man who went missing some days back from Meerpet.

The unidentified assailants killed him brutally and chopped off his penis. His dead body was thrown into the bushed close to his house.

On the evidence collected from the spot of the crime, the police suspect that the wife of the deceased J Krishnayya, 28, could be behind his murder and the illicit relations are also not ruled out.

The case, which has highlighted the plight of Afghan women jailed for so-called moral crimes, was the subject of a documentary film funded by the European Union — until diplomats censored it out of fear for the woman’s welfare, and for their relations with the Afghan government.

Hyderabad, December 03: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) Saturday formally filed charges in illegal mining case involving Obulapuram Mining Company (OMC) owned by former Karnataka minister G. Janardhana Reddy.

The CBI filed its charge sheet in the special court dealing with CBI cases at Nampally criminal court complex here.

The charge sheet names Janardhana Reddy, his brother-in-law and OMC managing director B.V. Srinivasa Reddy and former director of mines V.D. Rajagopal as the accused. They are all lodged in Chanchalguda Central Jail here.

New Delhi, December 03: Despite the Telangana MPs paralysing the winter session of parliament, they are unlikely to hear a word on the T issue from the UPA government. This was indicated by AICC general secretary in-charge of Andhra Pradesh Ghulam Nabi Azad on Friday at a function to launch the DAVP Calendar, 2012, held at the residence of Information & Broadcasting Minister Ambika Soni.

Hyderabad, December 3: Masjid Abdullah Shah is located at Uppuguda bust stop. It is also called as Mohammadia mosque. The mosque is uninhabited since 1990. Adjacent to it is chilla of Mahboob Subhani and it is surrounded by shops and dabbas due to which mosque is not seen from outside. Its minarets are also small hence the picture of inside portion of the mosque has been taken. The mosque is locked and is located in a purely non Muslim locality. Hyderabad, December 03: Alon Ushpiz, Ambassador of Israel to India, will be visiting Hyderabad along with a core team next week. This will be his maiden visit to the city after he has taken over as the new Ambassador to India.

Alon Ushpiz was earlier in Washington DC, USA and had also served in Japan. His visit gains significance in the wake of Israel expecting to have a Free Trade Agreement with India next year which could catapult bilateral trade between two countries to USD 15 billion from USD 5 billion in the next few years.
