Hyderabad, December 08: The Andhra Pradesh High Court on Thursday ordered release of Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) leader Cheruku Sudhakar, declaring his detention under the National Security Act (NSA) as illegal. Acting on petitions by his wife, TRS and Telangana Advocates Joint Action Committee (JAC), the court directed the government to immediately release Sudhakar on bail.

Hyderabad, December 08: Alleging that Maoist leader Mallojula Koteswar Rao alias Kishenji was killed in a fake encounter by security forces, members of the AP Civil Liberties Committee on Wednesday demanded the West Bengal government to order an independent judicial inquiry headed by a retired Supreme Court judge or a sitting High Court judge into the incident in West Midnapore district on November 24.

Riyadh, December 08: A Saudi man could be stoned to death if he is found guilty of sleeping with his ex-wife for nearly four months without telling her that he had divorced her.

The woman filed a case against her ex-husband and asked court in the western Red Sea port of Jeddah to give him maximum punishment for having sex with her during that period although he had divorced her nearly four months ago.

The woman, who was not identified, said her former husband told her on the last day of their relationship that he had just divorced her.

Jeddah, December 08: Two directors of maintenance and cleaning companies are being investigated for embezzling SR12,565,800 from mosques in Madina. The contractors are alleged to have conducted the scam over the course of three years.

The director of the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Endowments, Dawah and Guidance in Madina, Dr. Muhammad Al-Khatari denied earlier rumors that the men had actually embezzled SR400 million.

Inspector caught red-handed

Hyderabad, December 8 (Siasat News): The officials of the anti-corruption bureau have caught a sub-inspector Srinivas who belonged to Chilkalguda police station, red-handed.

According to the details, Srinivas, with the help of another constable of the same police station, was demanding Rs. 8000 as bribe from an applicant to get ‘his work done.’

Hyderabad, December 08: CM held a meeting with his cabinet colleagues to take disciplinary action against the Congress MLA’s who violated the whip of the party and voted against the Govt. in Assembly on ‘No Confidence Motion’ moved by TDP and TRS.

Taking into consideration from all angles, it was decided to recommend High Command to disqualify from the membership of the Assembly. It was treated as a prestige issue of the State Congress.

He expressed his reaction on taking disciplinary action against his supporters. He was addressing media persons at Lotus Pond, the residence of Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy in Jubilee hills. He said that he is proud of his group which is struggling to fight the cause of farmers. He told the newsmen that despite threats from the Govt. they supported him which is a pious gesture. Hyderabad, December 8: The old mosque Mallapur is uninhabited near Venkatapur (Barkas). It is in very dilapidated condition and is located in deserted area.

However our objective is to bring to the fore uninhabited mosques so that mosques are protected. Waqf board should understand its duty and servants of God, maintain mosque’s sanctity by performing ruku and sujood in it. And it is our collective responsibility.

New Delhi, December 08: Congress party official spokesman Manish Tiwari on Wednesday stated that the Congress High Command would initiate disciplinary action against 16 MLAs who voted in favour of No Confidence Motion introduced against the Kiran Kumar Reddy Government violating the party whip.

Talking to media persons, Manish Tiwari said that the high command would initiate action against the rebel MLAs after consulting the Congress In-Charge of State Affairs Ghulam Nabi Azad. He said the party would not spare anyone who violates the party’s discipline and principles.

New Delhi, December 08: Union Minister of State for Home Jitendra Singh on Wednesday stated that unanimous opinion was needed for the formation of new states.

The Minister made these comments while responding to a question over the formation of smaller states in the Rajya Sabha on Wednesday. Jitendra Singh said that the new states could be formed only with consensus. He also referred to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawathi passing resolution in the assembly over the division of state into four parts.

Jerusalem, December 08: Israel approves of the construction of more settlement units in the occupied East al-Quds (Jerusalem) in a move expected to trigger fresh worldwide condemnation of Tel Aviv’s settlements activities.

The 14-home project, which is to be named Maale David, was approved late on Wednesday and is to be sited in the Arab neighborhood of Ras al-Amud near an existing Jewish settlement of 1,000 people, Israel’s Channel One TV reported.

Mumbai, December 08: The name of senior journalist Jigna Vora, the 11th person to be arrested in the sensational J Dey murder case, first surfaced on August 4, 2011, when underworld don Chhota Rajan called a close family friend of Vinod Chembur, said a senior Crime Branch official.

While Chembur is a known Rajan man, his family friend who Rajan called is a real estate agent.
