TRS leader’s detention under NSA illegal: Court‎

Hyderabad, December 08: The Andhra Pradesh High Court on Thursday ordered release of Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) leader Cheruku Sudhakar, declaring his detention under the National Security Act (NSA) as illegal. Acting on petitions by his wife, TRS and Telangana Advocates Joint Action Committee (JAC), the court directed the government to immediately release Sudhakar on bail.

Saudi Man slept with ex-wife, faces death

Riyadh, December 08: A Saudi man could be stoned to death if he is found guilty of sleeping with his ex-wife for nearly four months without telling her that he had divorced her.

The woman filed a case against her ex-husband and asked court in the western Red Sea port of Jeddah to give him maximum punishment for having sex with her during that period although he had divorced her nearly four months ago.

The woman, who was not identified, said her former husband told her on the last day of their relationship that he had just divorced her.

SR12 million Madina mosque embezzlement to be probed

Jeddah, December 08: Two directors of maintenance and cleaning companies are being investigated for embezzling SR12,565,800 from mosques in Madina. The contractors are alleged to have conducted the scam over the course of three years.

The director of the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Endowments, Dawah and Guidance in Madina, Dr. Muhammad Al-Khatari denied earlier rumors that the men had actually embezzled SR400 million.

Action against rebel MLAs soon: Manish Tiwari

New Delhi, December 08: Congress party official spokesman Manish Tiwari on Wednesday stated that the Congress High Command would initiate disciplinary action against 16 MLAs who voted in favour of No Confidence Motion introduced against the Kiran Kumar Reddy Government violating the party whip.

Talking to media persons, Manish Tiwari said that the high command would initiate action against the rebel MLAs after consulting the Congress In-Charge of State Affairs Ghulam Nabi Azad. He said the party would not spare anyone who violates the party’s discipline and principles.

New Delhi, December 08: Union Minister of State for Home Jitendra Singh on Wednesday stated that unanimous opinion was needed for the formation of new states.

The Minister made these comments while responding to a question over the formation of smaller states in the Rajya Sabha on Wednesday. Jitendra Singh said that the new states could be formed only with consensus. He also referred to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawathi passing resolution in the assembly over the division of state into four parts.

Vora’s Dey murder link exposed on August 4

Mumbai, December 08: The name of senior journalist Jigna Vora, the 11th person to be arrested in the sensational J Dey murder case, first surfaced on August 4, 2011, when underworld don Chhota Rajan called a close family friend of Vinod Chembur, said a senior Crime Branch official.

While Chembur is a known Rajan man, his family friend who Rajan called is a real estate agent.
