Cong Govt at the mercy of PRP, MIM: Kishan

Mahbubnagar, December 09: Bharatiya Janata Party state president G Kishan Reddy on Thursday stated that the No Confidence Motion introduced by the Telugu Desam Party against Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy has exposed the weaknesses of the Congress party in the state.

Talking to media persons, Kishan Reddy said that the Congress Government has got reduced to a `minority’ although it defeated the No Trust Motion in the assembly. He said that the government’s survival was now at the mercy of Praja Rajyam Party and Majlis-e-Ittehad Muslimeen.

Saudi Aramco needs technical graduates: Official

Dubai, December 09: Young Saudis should study technical and scientific subjects at university to help modernize the country, said Abdul Rahman Bin Fahd Al-Wehaib, Deputy Supreme President of Saudi Aramco for Work Services.

He said subjects such as computer engineering were needed to close the technology gap between the Kingdom and highly-industrialized countries. He made the comment while addressing the Arab Thought Foundation (Fikr 10) being held in Dubai.

Rs. 250 Crore package for Handloom & Textile workers

Hyderabad, December 09: State Govt. announced that the Central Govt. has provided a package of Rs. 250 crore for handloom & textile workers in the state which included the provisions of loan Rs 150 crore to APCO and Rs. 100 crore loan to handloom workers. Nearly 20 thousand handloom workers of the State are likely to be benefited by this package. Dr. P. Shankar Rao Minister for Textiles told that an all party meeting will be convened on 23rd December to review the problems faced by the handloom workers.

It may be noted that this state has handloom workers more than any other state.

Sriramulu meets Janardhan Reddy in jail

Hyderabad, December 09: Former Karnataka Minister B. Sriramulu, who recently won as an independent from Bellary Assembly constituency, called on his erstwhile Cabinet colleague Gali Janardhan Reddy at the Chanchalguda Central Jail here on Thursday.

Emerging from the jail after an hour-long meeting with Mr. Reddy, the MLA said he had sought the blessings of the former for the new political party that he is proposed to launch in the coming few days.

54% Kids had negative online experience

Dubai, December 09: More than half (54 per cent) of the UAE’s children between 8 and 17 have experienced a negative situation online,  according to the Norton Online Family Report.

Dubai, December 09: A Jordanian manager allegedly kidnapped and raped a Kazakhstani manager in her flat, the Dubai Criminal Court heard.

AAA, 34 is accused by the prosecution of attacking EA, 26, in her building by holding her hands and putting a sharp tool to her back and pushing her towards her flat. He beat her until she fell unconscious and then raped her thrice. He also stole some stuff from her flat and ran away leaving her with 2 per cent permanent disability.

Police chief announces new DCP for Vizag

Visakhapatnam, December 09: Director General of Police V Dinesh Reddy on Thursday announced another Deputy Commissioner of Police post for Visakhapatnam zone.

Addressing a press conference at Police Commissioner’s office in a maiden visit to district after assuming charge as DGP, Dinesh Reddy said the decision was taken to lessen the burden on incumbent and to streamline the administration. He also said the government was also making efforts to appoint a one Deputy Superintendent of Police for each Assembly constituency in the state.

AP gets RBI licenses for all DCCBs

Hyderabad, December 09: Andhra Pradesh has become the first State in the country to obtain banking licenses in respect of all District Cooperative Central Banks (DCCBs) from Reserve Bank of India (RBI) to carry on banking business.

With Srikakulam DCCB obtaining banking license from RBI on Nov 30, 2011, all the DCCBs in the State have attained the status of licensed banks. As the Andhra Pradesh State Cooperative Bank (APCOB) was issued license during February 2010 itself, the entire rural Cooperative banks network is operating on a licensed platform.

Record evidence on daily basis in Babri case: HC

Lucknow, December 09: The Allahabad High Court on Thursday directed the recording of evidence on a day-to-day basis by a Rae Bareli court in the Babri Masjid demolition case.

Justices Shree Narain Shukla and Surendra Vikram Singh Rathore of the Lucknow Bench of the High Court gave the direction while disposing of a petition by VHP leader Vishnu Hari Dalmiya, who is among the eight accused in the case.

Mr. Dalmiya had challenged the July 22 order of the Rae Bareli district and sessions court, asking the trial court to fix at least 10 days in a month for hearing the case.

Washington,December 09 : Weeks after Anwar al-Awlaki was killed by a U.S. drone strike in Yemen, his father is sparking controversy as radical Muslim groups claim he is now supporting his son’s terror tactics against the West.

But in a statement released to CNN, Nasser al-Awlaki says his audio speech was misinterpreted.

CBI arrests Bhanwari’s husband

Jodhpur, December 09: In a fresh twist in Bhanwari Devi abduction case, the CBI on Thursday arrested the husband of the missing nurse after he gave conflicting versions during questioning and remained “un-cooperative”.

The arrest of Amar Chand comes as the CBI has now focussed attention on his claims and activities on the day Ms. Bhanwari Devi went missing three months ago, agency sources said.
