Missing teen recovered from well

Hyderabad, December 9: Body of a 16 year old boy Imran who was missing from Nadeem colony Tolichowki has been recovered from a well.

According to sources on December 6, Syed Imran son of Syed Abu resident of Nadeem colony had gone to see the Baobab tree located in Golconda fort along with his friends and had been missing since then.

Syed Imran was the student of 9th standard. According to police sources he had left his friends saying that he is going to a shopping mall from there. His dead body was recovered from a well at Bovardan Nagar.

2 yr old boy kidnapped from Malakpet

Hyderabad, December 9: Some unidentified persons kidnapped a 2 year old kid from Malakpet. Malakpet police has registered the case of kidnapping of Anirudh and investigations are underway.

According to police sources Anirudh was playing along with his 4 year old brother at Shalivahna Nagar when two unidentified motorcycle borne persons snatched Anirudh and fled away.

The child’s grandmother who was supervising the grand children was stunned to see this.

Hyderabad, December 9: The excise department has some rules and regulations regarding issuance of licenses for wine shops so to speak but they are only on paper and are rarely implemented while issuing licenses. One among them being that the wine shop should be atleast at a distance of 100 meter from any place of worship be it a mosque, temple or church.

There are two mosques at Chatrinaka crossroads one is Masjid Munshi saheba and the other is Masjid Omer which is at a few feet distance from the former.

Boxer dies after collapsing in ring

Moscow, December 09: Russian light heavyweight boxer Roman Simakov, who collapsed in the ring Monday during a title defence, has died of brain injuries at a hospital, an official said.

The 27-year-old Simakov collapsed a minute into the seventh round after enduring a torrent of punches from Sergei Kovalev. He immediately fell into a coma from which he never emerged, said Igor Maruzov, general secretary of the Russian Boxing Federation.

Maruzov did not say whether anyone would be held accountable over the death, but said a probe had begun.

Hyderabad, December 9: The last and longest lunar eclipse of the current year will happen on Saturday, December 10, 2011 which can be easily viewed in India and its neighbouring countries. The eclipse will be partially visible in some parts of Europe, Africa, the West Asia, Australia, North America, Green-land and the Indian, Pacific and Arctic Oceans.

The lunar eclipse will start at 5:02 pm according to IST and will end at 11:02 in the night. The moon will set as it becomes progressively immersed in the Earth’s umbral shadow from 7:36 pm to 8:28 pm.

Plea seeks probe against ministers, IAS officers in Jagan case

Hyderabad, December 09: An advocate has moved a special court here seeking a direction to the CBI to probe the role of six ministers and eight senior IAS officers in connection with the assets case against MP Y S Jaganmohan Reddy.

Nellore-based advocate P Sudhakar Reddy filed a private petition in the special court for CBI cases here urging it to direct the agency to bring under their purview of probe six ministers and eight senior IAS officers, working under Jagan’s father Y S Rajasekhara Reddy when he was the chief minister of the state.

Hospitals plead guilty, guarantee safety‎

Hyderabad, December 09: Three city hospitals, which were recently caught violating environmental norms agreed to provide a bank guarantee of Rs 10 lakh and give a written undertaking to the effect that they would clean the mess within a week.

The managements of the three hospitals came up with this assurance at a legal hearing, Andhra Pradesh Pollution Control Board officials said.

GHMC awards for five residential colonies

Hyderabad, December 09: The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation presented five awards to the best Residential Welfare Associations, one in each zone, for proper maintenance and cleanliness measures.

Outgoing mayor Banda Karthika Reddy and GHMC commissioner MT Krishna Babu praised the participation of the resident associations in curbing ban on plastic and involving in maintaining sanitation, greenery in parks. Riyadh, December 09: The family of an Australian man, convicted of blasphemy by a Saudi Arabian court, wonders what it is he could have said that earned him a sentence of 500 lashes and a year in prison.

Mansor Almaribe’s son said the pair only had a 90-second phone conversation since his arrest last month.

“He could not speak freely because authorities were around him but he said the charges are very stupid and all he said was that they had charged him for something he had not done,” his son, Issam, said.

Fire in Kolkata’s AMRI hospital: 55 killed

Kolkata,December 09:About 55 people were killed in a massive fire that broke out at the AMRI hospital in south Kolkata early Friday, West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee said.

“Quick action will be taken against the hospital after proper inquiry,” she added.

According to hospital sources, death toll may rise in the hospital fire incident in Kolkata. Nearly 160 patients were admitted in the Dhakuria building, where fire broke out in the wee hours.
