Hyderabad, December 10: A large number of Urdu schools lack furniture and students are forced to sit on the floor. Several schools do not have save drinking water; there is no toilet facility in a large number of schools; students and teachers face difficulty answering the call of nature. Lack of basic facilities in Urdu medium schools is forcing the Urdu medium students to drop education.

Woman’s body found in sack

Hyderabad, December 10 (Siasat News): The body of a woman stuffed in a gunny bag was abandoned near a transformer at L N Nagar in Yousufguda on Friday morning.

Some locals who saw stray dogs trying to tear off the bag, informed the matter to the
Police. The victim was identified as K Rani, 28 of site-III Borabanda.

Banjara Hills police inspector M Sudarshan said that Rani was a maidservant and reportedly an alcoholic.

I am fine, will return to Pakistan soon

Islamabad, December 10: President Asif Ali Zardari has said that he is completely alright and will return to Pakistan soon. A television anchor who spoke to him quoted the president as saying that many of his enemies did not want him to return to his country.

“They think that I have fled but escape is not an option. I will never leave as I was born in Pakistan and I will die in Pakistan. Inshallah, I will return in a few days and my enemies will be disappointed,” television anchor Hamid Mir quoted Zardari as saying.

Online chat ended in rape and beatings

Jordan, December 10: A Jordanian manager allegedly kidnapped and raped a Kazakhstani manager in her flat, the Dubai Criminal Court heard.

AAA, 34 is accused by the prosecution of attacking EA, 26, in her building by holding her hands and putting a sharp tool to her back and pushing her towards her flat. He beat her until she fell unconscious and then raped her thrice. He also stole some stuff from her flat and ran away leaving her with 2 per cent permanent disability.

Eiffel Tower evacuated over bomb scare

Paris, December 10: The Eiffel Tower and its surroundings in Paris were evacuated Friday evening after an anonymous caller, claiming to be member of terror outfit Al Qaeda, said there was a bomb kept nearby.

Police received a call around 5 p.m. from the man, Xinhua reported citing local broadcaster Europe1.

Around 2,000 visitors were asked to quit the 324-metre-tall tower, but police did not find any explosive as described in the phone call.

In 1995, two explosions took place in Paris, causing several casualties.

Time has come for decision on Telangana C.M. called to Delhi

Last Haj group returned – Haj camp ended

Hyderabad, December 10: (Siasat News) Haj Camp 2011 came to an end yesterday after the last group of Haj pilgrims returned to Hyderabad. The last contingent included. 209 pilgrims. Through another flight brought 266 pilgrims had reached Hyderabad early in the morning. In this way a total of 475 Haj pilgrims came back home yesterday.

Mr. Syed Khaleeluddin, Chairman Haj Committee and Mr. Ahmedullah, Minister for Minorities Welfare welcomed the Haj pilgrims at the Airport.

Major Appointments in police commissioner’s office

Hyderabad, December 10: (Siasat News) Nearly 2643 posts will be filled up through recruitments which include 1867 civil, 363 Armed Reserve Forces. 55 posts will be filled up by ladies and 150 lady constable will also be recruited. Steps are being taken to train eligible youths. Mr. A.K. Khan told the newsmen yesterday. He said that City police is trying to recruit persons with good mroal character. 5,038 cases against cops

Hyderabad, December 10: Police harassment cases tops the list of about 5,038 cases pending before the State Human Rights Commission as on December 9.

A total of 1,249 police harassment cases are pending before the Commission.

As many as 305 women harassment cases and 253 cases of pension for physically challenged person are also pending.

The Commission’s acting chairperson, K. Peda Peri Reddy, said that the SHRC disposed of as many as 12,698 cases since August last year till date.

“Except 239 cases admitted this year, the rest of the cases are from 2005 to 2010,” he stated.

6 AMRI directors arrested after 88 die in fire

Kolkata, December 10: Six owners of AMRI Hospital in south Kolkata’s Dhakuria were arrested on Friday following the massive fire in which at least 88 people have been killed. The six who have been arrested are SK Todi, RS Goenka, Ravi Todi, Manish Goenka, Prasanta Goenka and Dayananda Agarwal, and the licence of the hospital has been cancelled.

A senior Kolkata Police officer said that the six have been charged with negligence, culpable homicide not amounting to murder and attempt to culpable homicide.

400 Hyderabad hospitals flout fire safety norms

Hyderabad, December 10: The major fire in Kolkata’s AMRI hospital on Friday that killed 90 people has brought into sharp focus the fire safety measures in Hyderabad’s private hospitals. And sadly around 400 hospitals in the city are fire accidents waiting to happen. After an inspection by the fire prevention wing of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation of 556 hospitals (below 15 m in height and having a minimum capacity of 50 beds), only 149 hospitals possessed the No Objection Certificate from the fire department for installing fire safety equipment.

Emaar case: Order on Prasad’s bail plea reserved till Dec 12

Hyderabad, December 10: A special CBI court on Friday reserved its order on the bail plea of Koneru Prasad, Chairman of Trimex group and a key accused in the APIIC-Emmar land deal case, to December 12.

Prasad was arrested by the investigating agency last month in connection with the APIIC-Emaar land deal case.

Opposing the bail application of Koneru Prasad, the CBI counsel argued that he had illegally transferred the excess money that had made from the sale of villas, to the bank account of his son Madhu Koneru, who stays in Dubai.

Makkah governor washes Kaaba today

Makkah, December 10: Makkah Gov. Prince Khaled Al-Faisal will wash the Kaaba today (Saturday) on behalf of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah. The House of God is washed twice a year before Ramadan and after Haj.

The governor will be joined in the process by the President of the Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques Sheikh Saleh bin Abdul Rahman Al-Hossain, his deputy for the Affairs of the Grand Mosque Muhammad bin Nasser Al-Khozaim, accredited Islamic diplomats, the Sadana (custodians) of the Holy House and a number of citizens.

Why brand entire Muslim community as terrorist?

New Delhi, December 10: Terrorism should be seen as an international menace. No religious identity should be attached to it as no religion on earth justifies terrorism that often ends up killing innocent people. Islam strongly forbids violence against the innocent. Woman crushed to death by elevator

London, December 10: A woman in the US was crushed to death while trying to climb out of an elevator that was stuck between floors.

Annette Lujan, 48, was half way out of the elevator when it suddenly started moving. She was trapped between the second and third floor as the lift began to move and suffered crush injuries, the Daily Mail reported.

Fire crews, summoned to an administrative building at Cal State in Long Beach, California, were able to lift the 2,000 elevator off Lujan. They tried administering first aid to her at the scene, but she died later at hospital.

Wife locked up hubby as building burnt

London, December 10: A woman in Britain has admitted to have killed her husband by locking him up in a store cupboard of a burning building.

Julie Dixon, 43, had originally denied killing popular businessman David Twigg, 46, during a fire at a workshop in Burgh Le Marsh, Lincolnshire, in March last year, the Daily Mail reported.

According to Lincolnshire police’s spokeswoman, she admitted killing him on the second day of her trial at Lincoln crown court.

Minor maid held for kidnapping 2-year-old

Gurgaon, December 09: A 15-year-old domestic help was Friday arrested here for kidnapping the two-year-old baby of her employers as she allegedly wanted to teach them a lesson for their cruel behaviour, police said.

The juvenile justice board sent her to 14 days in judicial custody.

The accused was since the past three months working as domestic help at the Sector 41 house of Sohel Ghai, who worked with a soft drink company.

On Friday morning, when Ghai’s wife went out to send her elder son to school, the girl quietly slipped into the house and took away the two-year-old baby.
