Washington, November 02: A new book based on a series of interviews with the Navy SEALs involved in the mission to kill Osama bin Laden claims to directly contradict the Obama administration’s depiction of the operation, The Washington Examiner reported Friday.

Dr. G M Irfan bags gold medal in pediatric surgery

Hyderabad, November 2: Dr. Ghulam Mohammad Irfan has won a gold medal in pediatric surgery. The gold medal was bestowed upon him by NTR University of Health Vijayawada. Dr. Irfan is the only Muslim among the award winners of the university. Dr. Irfan will be given the gold medal in Silver Jubilee celebrations of the university to be held on Wednesday, November 2 at the university.

Dr. G M Irfan serves in Princess Durru Shehvar Hospital and is counted among the famous and favourite surgeons of the city.

US Citizen is the New Libyan PM

Tripoli, November 02: Abdurraheem el-Keib, a dual US-Libyan citizen, has been elected prime minister of Libya by members of the National Transitional Council who voted in a televised event on Monday, sticking ballots into a transparent box.

Expectations are high for el-Keib in a country with persisting battles going on in loyalist pockets of Libya, large unsecured weapons stockpiles, serious charges of war crimes committed by NTC fighters, and a war torn country to try to mend together.

Hyderabad, November 2: Falaknuma Raithu bazaar is one such Raithu bazaar of the city whose 90 percent costumers comprise of Urdu knowing people but the problem is that 99 percent rate boards present in this Raithu bazaar are written in ‘Telugu’ as a result the customers face lot of difficulties and confusion with regard to the cost of items. Hyderabad, November 2: An old age home named “Aaram Ghar” has been established in Hyderabad for the homeless and elderly people facing discountenance of their dear ones.
The ‘Aaram Ghar’ had been set up in Karwan on October 2, 1957. The first prime minister of the independent India Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru had inaugurated it and now it is located on 16 acre vast land at Shivrampally cross roads. The founder of the Aaram Ghar was late Roda Mistry who belonged to Parsi religion. She was a great social worker and an MP and was very close to Muslims.

Fire at French newspaper after Prophet issue

Paris, November 02: Police say a fire has caused serious damages at the headquarters of a satiric French newspaper that “invited” the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) as a guest editor this week.

A police official said the fire broke out overnight on Tuesday at the offices of Charlie Hebdo, and the cause remains unclear. No injuries were reported. The official spoke on condition of anonymity because an investigation into the fire is under way.

Acid used for delivery, new born dies

Murshidabad, November 02: In a shocking incident, a new born baby died during delivery when the hospital staff used Carbolic Acid was used in place of antiseptic as disinfectant.

The serious case of medical negligence occurred at the Lalbag Mahakuma Hospital on Wednesday. As per reports, Carbolic Acid was kept in the tray usually meant for antiseptic solutions like Dettol.

Displaying utter disregard to the norms of the profession, the staff, without checking the bottle, dabbed the acid on the child, leading to its death.

Mumbai, November 02: Bollywood’s most famous daughter-in-law Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is scheduled to deliver (probably twins) this fortnight and the family has chosen the seven-star speciality hospital Seven Hills in Marol near Andheri East, says a media report.

423 acre wakf land near Film City encroached, notices issued

Hyderabad, November 02: The State Wakf Board has issued notices to about 2000 persons who have reportedly encroached upon 423 acre of prime wakf land near Ramoji Film City on Hyderabad-Vijayawada highway.

This is the second such big bunch of notices that has been slapped by the SWB in the last fortnight. On October 18, the board issued notices to 2,262 persons whom it claimed had encroached upon its properties. Most of these properties are located in Hyderabad and Kurnool.

Registration of fresh scholarships from Wed

Hyderabad, November 02: The State Government on Tuesday informed that the online fresh registrations for scholarships to students pursuing college courses for the academic year 2011-12 will commence from November 2. The last date for registration will be November 21.

The scholarship process has been made fully online by the Social Welfare Department. Under the online system, no student can enter his/her name, Student records will be fetched from SSC / Inter servers based on the application / SSC ID.

No compromise with Iran: Crown Prince

Makkah, November 02: Crown Prince Naif, deputy premier and minister of interior, on Tuesday ruled out any compromise with Iran over allegations of Iranian involvement in a plot to murder the Saudi ambassador to Washington.

“There can be no compromise with Iran concerning the assassination bid because there is no need for it,” the crown prince told reporters while addressing a news conference after inspecting Haj preparations.
