Police bust four gangs, recover Rs 71 lakh property

Hyderabad, November 03: In a major breakthrough, the sleuths of Central Crime Station busted four different gangs of property offenders who were involved in many cases.

Addressing a press conference here on Thursday, City Police Commissioner AK Khan said that the gangs were involved in 33 cases and the police Stolen property worth nearly Rs 71 lakh has been recovered in all cases.

Men to deny sex to wives if they don’t vote: Zimbabwean politician

Melbourne, November 03 : A Zimbabwean politician has advised Ndebele men to deny sex to their wives if they are unable to prove that they have voted in the next election.

Priscilla Misihairabwi-Mushonga, the secretary general of the MDC-N party said that women from the minority group had cost the party many votes in the past.

Almost 300,000 women voters had registered themselves for the last election in 2008, but less than a third of the 300,000 who registered showed up at the polls.

“Labbaik Allahumma Labbaik”, 2.5 million pilgrims prepared for Haj

Jeddah, November 03: Many of the 2.5 million pilgrims, who are expected to perform Haj this year, will leave for the Mina valley, located five km east of Makkah, on Thursday evening at the start of the annual pilgrimage. The rest of them will proceed to the tent city Friday.

Saudi Arabia has completed all preparations for the largest Muslim gathering by mobilizing all its resources to ensure the welfare and security of pilgrims. Crown Prince Naif, deputy premier and minister of interior, inspected the Haj arrangements on Tuesday.

Jail for Pak cricketers Butt, Asif, Aamer

Karachi, November 03: Former Pakistan captain Salman Butt was sentenced to 30 months of imprisonment for spot-fixing. Mohammad Asif was sentenced to one year concurrent jail term.

The third accused, 19-year-old pacer Mohammad Aamer was not sentenced to jail but will be detained at young offenders institution, while bookie Mazhar Majeed was sentenced to 2 years and eight months of imprisonment.

While delivering the sentence, Justice Jeremy Cooke said that image and integrity of cricket has been damaged and the offences were so serious only imprisonment can suffice.

T supporters arrested during an attempt to stop home minister’s convoy

Hyderabad, November 3: Mild tension prevailed in Viqarabad area when some Telangana supporters tried to stop the convoy of state home minister Mrs. Sabita Indira Reddy and raised ‘Jai Telangana’ slogans.

Following the incident Viqarabad police arrested 3 Telangana supporters and shifted them to police station. Later they were released on bail.

Steps taken for completion of Polavaram project: CM

Hyderabad, November 3 (Siasat News): An incident of theft took place in the posh area of Banjara Hills where unidentified robbers entered a temple and made their escape good with 8 kilo silver ornaments worth Rs. 10 lakh.

According to the details, some robbers gained entry by breaking open the lock of the temple. When the priest of the temple Srinivas Venkat Sharma, opened the temple, he found the silver ornaments missing.

Amjadullah Khan condemns disruption in transfer of cattle

Hyderabad, November 3: Majlis Bachao Tahreek leader and corporator Amjadullah Khan Khalid strongly condemned the disruption caused by various Hindu organizations during transfer of cattle to the city on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha.

He appealed to the police department to stop such incidents from happening and demanded appropriate action in this regard and making the transfer of cattle easier.
