“I don’t believe in following trends just for the heck of it. I believe in wearing something I think suits my personality and my body type.

Vidya goes ‘Ooh la la’ with Big B

Mumbai, November 09: Vidya Balan set the “Kaun Banega Crorepati 5” sets on fire when she shook a leg with megastar Amitabh Bachchan on her latest saucy number “Ooh la la” from the film “The Dirty Picture”.

The actress, who played a mother to Big B in “Paa”, appeared as a guest participant on the show, to promote her forthcoming film.

Clad in a red sari, Vidya oozed oomph just as her character in “The Dirty Picture”.

The two worked together in “Paa”, where Vidya mother to Big B’s character Auro, who suffers from progeria.

‘Rape joke pages’ finally removed from Facebook

London, November 09: Social networking giant Facebook has removed several controversial pages that have been heavily criticized for making jokes about rape.

The group pages, tilted, “You know she”s playing hard to get when you”re chasing her down an alleyway” had 194,370 likes on Facebook, and was widely criticised by victim support groups.

Facebook said there is no place on the social networking site for content that is “hateful, threatening, or incites violence.”

Youth arrested for creating Rahul Gandhi’s fake FB account

Bhopal, November 09: A youth, who had allegedly created a fake Facebook account in the name of Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi, had been arrested, police said. The accused, identified as Ankit Saini, was arrested on Monday and produced in a local court in Ambala, following which he was released on bail.

Third party insurance abolition proposed

Hyderabad, November 09: Insurance Regulatory Authority has proposed to abolish third party insurance for motor vehicles in A.P. It is proposed to abolish after consulting all the stake holders. Mr. J. Hari Narayan, Chairman of Regulatory Authority has informed that many insurance companies have been demanding to abolish it because it reduces their share of profit.

Four major companies of Motor vehicles have established their monopoly on this business. It is estimated that motor vehicle insurance business is likely to incur a loss of Rs. 3,500 crore during the current financial year.

Togadia calls for death sentence for conversion

New Delhi, November 09: Vishwa Hindu Parishad international general secretary Pravin Togadia has sought death sentence to those who attempt to convert Hindus to other religions.

Dr. Togadia was addressing the concluding session of a three-day Akhil Bharatiya Dharmaprasar Karykarta Sammelan on Monday. VHP workers from all over the country took part in it.

The sammelan was held close to Pirana Dargah, on the outskirts of the city, sending the police into a tizzy, particularly because it coincided with Bakrid.

Saudi TV channel under fire over obscene film

Jeddah, November 09: A major Saudi satellite TV movie channel has come under fire for showing a film containing nude women and other obscene scenes, with viewers calling for punishment of those responsible, a newspaper reported.

The Arabic language daily Sabq said it had received scores of phone calls from Saudi Arabia and other Arab countries criticising MBC Max channel for showing the movie that contained obscene scenes for several minutes.

‘Iran Navy can patrol off coast of US’

Tehran, November 09: The commander of the Iranian Navy says Iran has the right to deploy naval vessels near US coastal waters according to international law.

On Tuesday, Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyari said that international law permits all countries to send their naval ships to the open seas, and naval forces of the Islamic Republic are also allowed to sail in these waters, the Mehr news agency reported.

IAEA report a historic mistake, Iran says

Tehran, November 09: The Iranian ambassador to the International Atomic Energy Agency, Ali Asghar Soltanieh, has criticized the agency’s latest report on Iran, calling it a historic mistake, Media reports.

Soltanieh told Media on Tuesday that the IAEA report is unbalanced, unprofessional, and politically motivated.

He stated that the IAEA has taken an unprofessional approach, adding that neither the agency nor its director has the right to disseminate false information about any member state.

‘Not even 500 Israelis will be killed’

Tel Aviv, November 09: Israel’s Defense Minister Ehud Barak has dismissed as “delusional” recent reports regarding the increasing possibility of Tel Aviv launching a military strike against Iran.

“Israel had not yet decided to embark on any operation,” Barak said on Tuesday.

“War is not a picnic. We want a picnic. We don’t want a war,” Reuters quoted Barak as saying.

Barak also criticized reports suggesting that as many as 100,000 Israelis could be killed if Iran attacks Israel in retaliation against Tel Aviv aggression.

Hasan Ali asked to appear before court by Nov 14

Hyderabad, November 09: A local court today issued a PT (prisoners transit) warrant against Pune-based businessman owner Hasan Ali Khan in connection with a case in which he is accused of procuring a fake passport from Hyderabad.

The 12th Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (ACMM) Court in Hyderabad allowed the PT application of Hyderabad Police and issued the PT warrant directing them to produce the accused before the court by November 14.

RTC buys 4000 new buses

National Entrance test for medical students unlikely

Hyderabad, November 09: (Siasat News) Dr. D.L. Ravinder Reddy, Health Minister of A.P. said that due to lack of coordination between Govt. of A.P. and the Central Govt. the issue of conducting National level test for admission into medical courses has not been dealt with properly.

He said that a letter would be sent to Mr. Ghulam Nabi Azad, Union Health Minister for granting exemption to A.P. students. Earlier the Govt. of A.P. had consented for conducting the National level test.

Muslim youth was beaten in Kachiguda

Hyderabad, November 09: (Siasat News)In the late hours of last night Mr. Omer Farooq of Malakpet was beaten by miscreants near Kachiguda. He was going on a motor cycle alongwith his friend. He was hit with a sword as a result of which he was seriously injured and fell down from his motor bike.

Kachiguda police shifted him to Osmania General Hospital where his condition is reported to be serious. Inspector of Kachiguda police station Mr. Koteshwara Rao is investigating the case.
