Arkansas, November 10: Mom Michelle Duggar proudly announced to the world yesterday she’s expecting but her 19 other children got to hear the news first.

Duggar (45), and her husband Jim Bob have more experience than most in new arrivals, but they said they were surprised by the latest.

“I was not thinking that God would give us another one, and we are just so grateful,” said Duggar, star of a reality show called 19 kids and counting.

Mosque robbed in Saudi Arabia

Ihsa, November 10: A Saudi man waited for construction workers to leave a mosque project site at night, entered the building and stole nearly SR40,000 ($10,800) worth of power cables, a newspaper in the Gulf kingdom reported on Thursday.

A resident who happened to be passing in the area saw the thief leaving the site in the eastern province of Ihsa, the Arabic language daily ‘Alihsa’ said.

“He provided police with the man’s descriptions…a few hours later the thief was arrested,” the paper said.

Karachi, November 10: Former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi is ready to put the controversies surrounding his temporary retirement behind him and is focussed on solely playing the game.

Afridi who has always been in the news announced his ‘conditional’ retirement from international cricket in May, after being stripped of the ODI captaincy, saying he would return only if there were changes in the PCB and the team management.

“Whatever has happened, it is time to play cricket,” said Afridi.

Kasab should be hanged: Pakistan

Islamabad, November 10: Ajmal Kasab is a terrorist, a non-state actor and he should be sent to gallows, said Pakistani Interior Minister Rehman Malik in a meeting on the sidelines of the 17th SAARC summit in the Maldives today.

The proposed visit of Pakistan’s judicial commission to India and its report can help in prosecuting the 26/11 accused, Malik said.

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh today met his Pakistani counterpart Yousaf Raza Gilani to give a push to normalisation of bilateral relations marked by “shrinking” trust deficit.

First whiff of justice for Gujarat riot victims

Ahmedabad, November 10: A special court here on Wednesday sentenced 31 persons to life imprisonment and fined them Rs.50,000 each for burning 33 Muslims alive at Sardarpura in Mehsana district during the 2002 communal riots in Gujarat.

Special court judge S.C. Srivastava, who is the Principal District and Sessions Judge of Mehsana, however, acquitted 42 other accused, 11 of them for lack of evidence and the remaining 31 got the benefit of the doubt. The 31 accused have been asked to submit a solvency bond of Rs.25,000 each and not to leave the country without the court’s permission.

RSS supports Anna, admits Mohan Bhagwat

Kolkata, November 10: Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat on Wednesday said that they supported the anti-corruption movement launched by social activist Anna Hazare.

“We support Anna. Many of our workers have joined his movement. We haven’t asked them to support neither have we stopped them,” Bhagwat said in Kolkata on Wednesday.

He said that the RSS has been trying to create good people who can lead a corruption-free life.

“If asked to, we will participate in the movement, but no request has come from Anna,” he said.

World must stop Iran’s nuclear drive, Israel warns

NEET: CM seeks 2 years exemption for AP

Hyderabad, November 10: Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy on Wednesday requested the Centre to exempt Andhra Pradesh from the proposed National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) for the next two years.

The Chief Minister has already written a letter to Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare Ghulam Nabi Azad seeking exemption. He also directed the Special Chief Secretary – Health G Sudhir to pursue the matter with the Centre and get the exemption.

Quake kills at least 3, dozens trapped in Turkey

Ankara, November 10: An earthquake struck eastern Turkey, killing at least three people and leaving dozens trapped in the rubble of toppled buildings damaged in the previous temblor, which had killed 600 people.

About 20 buildings collapsed in the provincial capital of Van following a 5.7-magnitude quake, according to media reports.

In a grim replay of scenes from last month’s quake in the same region, men climbed onto piles of debris and frantically clawed at twisted steel and crumbled concrete in an attempt to find survivors.

Dubai, November 10: Dubai Police’s Ports Police Station (PPS) has taken written undertakings from those found inappropriately dressed on Dubai’s beaches, that they will not repeat the offence in future, according to Lt. Colonel Abdullah Al Maziod, Director of PPS.

Lt. Colonel Maziod says people who are over-dressed, as well as those swimming in underwear that is as good as transparent, are both considered inappropriate.

Jeddah, November 10: Saudi Arabia’s religious police arrested an Egyptian man claiming to have exorcism and spiritual healing powers for molesting many women by telling them he can rid their bodies of the devil through their sexual organs.

In court, he blamed the devil for his acts.

Wearing a religious gown and turban, the bearded man had used his house in the western Red Sea port of Jeddah to meet scores of women under the illusion that their bodies could be haunted by jinn (ghosts) and they could be the cause of their physical and psychological problems.

‘CIA dictated new IAEA report on Iran’

Tehran, November 10: An Iranian lawmaker says the latest report by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) on Iran’s nuclear case has been dictated by the Central Intelligence Agency.

Member of the Majlis (parliament) National Security and Foreign Policy Committee Mahmoud Ahmadi Bighash told IRNA on Wednesday that the latest IAEA report proved that the nuclear agency has no authority to act on its own and only serves US and Israeli interests.

Ayub Khan surrenders before High Court

Hyderabad, November 10: Salauddin Ayub Khan, former director of Parkwood International School at Manneguda in Vikarabad, an accused in the rape case of 13-year-old student of his school, on Wednesday surrendered before the Andhra Pradesh High Court.

The court has remanded him to judciail till November 16. Following the directions of court, the police shifted Salauddin Ayub Khan to Chanchalguda Jail. The Supreme Court has recently cancelled his bail and asked him to surrender before the police within a week.
