Murder plan by 4 foiled

Nalgonda, November 10: Chowtuppal police arrested four persons who had planned to kill the accused in the murder of former Maoist Sambasivudu, said district SP Naveen Gulati here on Wednesday.

The four arrested are Konda Arun, Chinthakuntla Kishore Reddy, Gunja Shivakumar and Komatireddy Shekar Reddy, police said and added that three others: Ashok Reddy, B Arvind and kingpin Ramulu are absconding.

Ex-Director of school surrenders in court

Hyderabad, November 10: Mohd Salahuddin Ayub, former director of Parkwood International School, surrendered in the Nampally court on Wednesday after the Supreme Court dismissed his bail petition and directed him to surrender before the court.

He was remanded to judicial custody till November 16.

Ayub, who was lodged in Chanchalguda jail was released on bail three months ago, following an AP High Court order. However, the Central Crime station (CCS) sleuths challenged the bail order to Ayub in the apex court.

Two jump before train

Hyderabad, November 10: Two persons committed suicide by jumping in front of a MMTS train near Khairatabad station on Wednesday.

According to Railway police, two persons who are relatives committed suicide by jumping in front of a local train. Police said 23-year-old Ravi Kumar and his relative 30-year-old Vishwanath of Masab Tank. Around 11 am on Tuesday, both of them left their houses.

Infant-kidnapper gang arrested

Karimnagar, November 10: Karimnagar police finally made a breakthrough in infants abduction case and arrested five persons here on Wednesday. The kidnapped babies were safely handed over to their parents. According to Karimnagar subdivision OSD (crime) DV Srinivasa Rao, the gang includes kingpin, A Jyothi Rani, 22, who abducts infants while the others namely Swaroopa (40), T Srinivas (40) and A Kanka Raju (30) are the ones who assisted her.

Congress says SRC II is its default policy

Hyderabad, November 10: Continuing their game of ducks and drakes, two Congress functionaries piped up Wednesday and said their party’s policy on the question of smaller states was to set up a second States Reorganisation Commission (SRC). To this, they added the rider that as a matter of principle, the party is not opposed to smaller states.

Pre-owned cars store opens in the city

Hyderabad, november 10: Mahindra First Choice Wheels, a company for pre-owned cars inaugurated its first company-owned store in Hyderabad on Wednesday. This is the company’s second store in South India after Chennai. Mahindra First Choice also plans to open one outlet in each of the key towns in the state, according to Rajeev Dubey, president and member of the group executive board, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.

Early intervention and education program

Hyderabad, November 10: LV Prasad Eye Institute (LVPEI), which is celebrating its silver jubilee this year, added two new services to its credit on Wednesday. The institute launched an ‘Early Intervention and Education Program’ for children with vision loss along with ‘Disabilities and Information Technology Training Center’ for the visually impaired.

The early intervention program provides intervention for children with vision loss and also for those with multiple disabilities including cerebral palsy, intellectual impairment, locomotor disability among others.

Russia ready to build reactors in Iran

Moscow, November 10: Russia is ready to build more nuclear reactors in Iran, its nuclear chief Sergei Kiriyenko said Thursday despite renewed fears that Tehran is seeking to produce nuclear weapons.

“We are looking into it, we have the orders, so we are working this proposal through, since building specifically nuclear reactors is not an issue of doubt in the international community,” said Kiriyenko, who heads the Rosatom state corporation.

Man forced 21 ‘wives’ into prostitution

Kuala Lumpur, November 10: A 32-year-old man from Malaysia has been arrested for marrying 21 women through fake marriages and then forcing them into prostitution during the past nine years.

According to Utusan Malaysia, the man’s “business” came to an end after one of his victims was saved by the police, the Star Online reported.

The man is said to have married 18 locals and three women from a neighbouring country after getting fake marriage certificates from a syndicate.

He would then force them to become prostitutes in several states and beat them up if they refused.

Hyderabad, November 10: It is being talked about that Gulam Nabi Azad, AICC General Secretary in charge of Andhra Pradesh affairs has prepared a formula to resolve the Telangana tangle. One of the key suggestions of Azad is making Hyderabad a centrally administered territory with 35 satellite towns merged in it. Azad has also reportedly suggested setting up of a powerful Regional Development Board or Council to wipe off the backwardness of Telangana rapidly. This will be on the lines of the Regional Boards created for Maratwada and Vidarbha regions.

ED summons Jagan in assets case

New Delhi, November 10: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Thursday issued summons to YSR Congress chief and Kadapa MP YS Jaganmohan Reddy in connection with the disproportionate assets amassed by him.

As per reports, the summons have been issued in connection with the foreign exchange violation and money laundering allegations against the Kadapa MP.

Jagan Reddy is under the CBI scanner for allegedly conspiring with his father late YS Rajasekhara Reddy and other individuals and companies for “cheating the government of Andhra Pradesh in the matter of granting certain favours”.
