Blast at Iran military kills 15

Tehran, November 12: A massive explosion hit a Revolutionary Guards base in the west of the Iranian capital on Saturday, killing 15 people, a spokesman for the elite unit told state television.

“The number of martyrs in today’s explosion in one of our ammunition depots stands at 15,” commander Ramezan Sharif was quoted as saying.

He did not disclose how many people were injured in the blast but said some were in “critical condition.”

BJP demands bill to prevent conversions

Hyderabad, November 12: BJP has demanded to pass a bill in the forthcoming assembly session to prevent conversions. Addressing a press conference here BJP spokesman NVVS Prabhakar told that incidence of conversions are on the rise in the state while huge amounts are being received from foreign countries in this connection.

He also held the state government responsible for the famine situation in the state and demanded that the chief minister send a top delegation to New Delhi for the relief of farmers.

Hyderabad, November 12: Reacting strongly against the religious prejudice and nepotism in selection of cricket players, secretary City College Old Boys Cricket Club, Novel Cricket Club and others in a joint statement said that selection of players should be done keeping in view the game and best performance of the players, but it seems that Hyderabad Cricket Association has a difference criteria for selection of players. As a result the Muslim players who are relentlessly giving best performance are ignored.

Saudi deports 50-cm female beggar for 10th time

Riyadh, November 12: 60-year-old Fatima is only around 50 cm in size but the midget discovered that her tiny body could be a boon.

Using it in begging, the woman earned more than $1,000 a week and managed to sneak back every time she was deported from Saudi Arabia. This week, Fatima celebrated her deportation from the Gulf Kingdom for the 10th time but she gave no indication whether she would try to come back.

20,000 weddings on 11.11.11 in Delhi only

New Delhi, November 12: Priests from other cities had to be called in and major traffic jams were reported as over 20,000 couples tied the knot yesterday, 11.11.11, a date termed extremely auspicious by many astrologers.

“Over 20,000 wedding took place in the city. 11.11.11 is equated with numbers 3, 6 and 9, which are good numbers to start with anything in Indian numerology,” said Ravindra Nagar, head priest of Birla Temple in central Delhi.

With so many weddings taking place, the priests in the city were joined by several from neighbouring states.

Hajis crowd Jeddah

Jeddah, November 12: Crowds are returning to Jeddah after a period of calm over the past few days. The city is pulsating with life as groups of pilgrims return from the holy sites where they completed their Haj rituals.

There is heavy traffic at the bus and taxi stations in downtown Balad and Kilo 10. Traffic personnel have been deployed at major roads and junctions to organize the flow of traffic.

Despite the dense traffic and crowds of pilgrims, the taxi fares are reasonable – almost at the level of normal days.

Hyderabad, November 12 (Siasat News): Task force sleuths on Friday picked up four men who were planning to rob train travelers at knife point, and also pick pockets at the Madannapet graveyard and seized weapons from them.

Md. Shakeel, Yaqoob, Salman and Shaukat are accused of snatching and robbery. They operate on trains running between Uppuguda and Secunderabad railway stations, police said.

6 suspects arrested in attacks case

Hyderabad, November 12: Hyderabad police have achieved a major breakthrough in their investigations into the communal attacks on members of the minority community in Hyderabad on Tuesday night with the arrest of six activists of Hindu Vahini.

The police are also questioning another right wing organisation, Bajrang Dal.

Senior police officials said a conspiracy to create major communal trouble in Hyderabad was unravelled with the arrests of the activists who admitted their involvement in the series of attacks on Tuesday night which left six people injured.
