ISI calls the shots in Pakistan: Imran Khan

Islamabad, November 14: Pakistan’s powerful Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) spy agency is calling the shots in the country, cricketer-turned-politician Imran Khan says, adding that the government lacks moral courage, “giving the space to ISI to assert its powers”.

“The government lacks the moral courage, which has been giving the space to ISI to assert its powers in various affairs of the country,” Imran Khan, who heads the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), said Sunday.

Plane crashes in Pakistan

Islamabad, November 14: A trainer aircraft of the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) crashed Monday morning but there was no immediate word about casualties.

The cause of the crash, some 80 km west of capital Islamabad, was also not immediately known, Xinhua reported, citing a TV channel.

‘Iran can thwart Duqu spyware’

Tehran, November 14: Iran has developed a software program that can “control” the newly discovered Duqu spyware, the director of Iran’s Passive Defense Organization has announced.

“The software, capable of controlling this virus (Duqu), has been provided to organizations and institutions,” IRNA quoted Brigadier General Gholamreza Jalali as saying on Sunday.

Duqu, discovered on September 1, 2011, is a sophisticated Trojan which acts as a backdoor into a system and facilitates the theft of private intelligence.

Malawi sex workers sue govt after forced HIV test

Malawi, November 14: Some 14 Malawians sex workers arrested by police and forced to undergo HIV tests two years ago have sued the government for “unfair action and violating their privacy”, a high court official told AFP Sunday.

The prostitutes, who all tested positive, filed for a judicial review of their case in 2009, but the court only gave consent to the sex workers to proceed with their action this year, the official from the administrative capital Lilongwe said.

Three filmed sex with 16yo, court told

Washington, November 14: Three men have gone on trial in the ACT Supreme Court on charges of rape and producing child pornography.

The names of the two 20-year-olds and one 19-year-old have been suppressed.

The incident is alleged to have occurred in June 2009 when the three were still at school.

They are alleged to have filmed themselves having sex with the 16-year-old victim before distributing it on a mobile phone.

The crown says the victim indicated her lack of consent from the outset.

‘Madhya Pradesh’s outlay about 97,000 cr. this year’

Riyadh, November 14: Protesters stormed the embassies of Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Turkey in Damascus late Saturday after the Arab League voted to suspend Syria’s membership over its failure to honor a deal to end a bloody crackdown on anti-regime protests.

Residents in Syria said crowds armed with sticks and knives attacked the Saudi Arabian Embassy compound in Damascus, breaking windows and ransacking some areas within, a report of the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) said.

Chinese students don’t know much about safe sex

Beijing, November 14: School students in China do not have much knowledge about safe sex, and teachers worry about being considered “dirty” by parents if they talk about sex in front of students, say experts.

A report released at the 9th Guangzhou Sex Culture Festival in Guangdong province said around three percent of middle school students in the province have had sexual intercourse.

Of these students, nearly 14 percent did not take any contraceptive measures, according to the Shanghai Daily.

Man found murdered

Hyderabad, November 14: The Bowenpally police on Sunday found the body of a 35-year-old man who has been murdered by some unknown persons.

The deceased was later identified as Srinivas Rao, a resident of Nandamuri Nagar in Bowepally. He is suspected to have been murdered on Saturday night by some unknown persons by throwing boulders on his head.

Police registered a case of murdered and started investigations.

Narsapur Express catches fire

Hyderabad, November 14: Tension prevailed at the Hyderabad Railway Station at Nampally for several hour after three coaches of Narsapur Express caught fire on Sunday.

The fire is believed to have broken out in the S-13 coach of Narsapur Express which was parked on Platform No 6 of the railway station. Before the officials could find out the source of smoke that was emanating from the train, fire spread to the adjacent coaches S-12 and S-11. However, the railway personnel immediately swung into action and detached S-11 coach from the train.
