Hyderabad, November 18: A delegation led by Mr. Mohammed Farooq Hussain, MLC met Mr. N. Kiran Kumar Reddy, CM of A.P. and apprised him of the activities of Tasleema Nasreen in India. He was told that Talseema has again started her activities which has perturbed the Muslims.

The delegation presented a detailed memorandum to the CM requesting him to use his good offices and pressurize Govt. of India for the cancellation of her visa for staying in India.

Riyadh, November 18: Saudi women with attractive eyes may be forced to cover them up.

Fox News quotes a report filed by the news website Bikya Masr, as saying that this move could mark the latest repressive measure taken against women by the Islamic state.

A spokesperson for Saudi Arabia”s Committee for the Promotion of Virtue and the Prevention of Vice (CPVPV), Sheikh Motlab al Nabet, said the committee had the right to stop women revealing “tempting” eyes in public.

EU bans airport body scanners over cancer fears

London, November 18: The European Union has banned the controversial airport body scanners over fears the X-ray technology could cause cancer, a media report said.

Experts have found the scanners send out low doses of radiation. A research says up to 100 American airline passengers could get cancer every year from the scanners.

The EU has told member countries not to install them until the potential risks are assessed, the Daily Mail reported.

Setback for Sanjeev Bhatt in custodial death case

New Delhi, November 18: In a big setback to suspended Gujarat police officer Sanjeev Bhatt, the Supreme Court on Friday refused to grant relief to him in a 21-year-old Jamnagar custodial death case of 1990.

As per report, the apex court bench comprising justice P Sathasivam and justice BS Chauhan asked the suspended Gujarat police officer to withdraw his case and approach the lower court in this regard.

While expressing its shock over the inordinate delay in conducting trial relate to the case, the apex court said that it won’t interfere in the Gujarat government’s decision.

New Delhi, November 18: Former cricketer Vinod Kambli on Thursday raised suspicion on the 1996 World Cup semifinal between India and Sri Lanka and said he found “something amiss” in the game which brought an end to his international career.

2012 cutoff for lingerie shops to employ women

Jeddah, November 18: A Labor Ministry official has announced that employment of Saudi women at lingerie shops would be completed next year after providing them with necessary training in sales. The law will be applied from the beginning of 2012.

“We are going ahead with the program aimed at restricting jobs at lingerie shops to women, mostly Saudis,” said Assistant Deputy Minister for Development Ali Al-Tukhaify. He said those who violate the law in this respect would be punished.

Ishrat case: SIT likely to submit final report today

Ahmedabad, November 18: The Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing into the Ishrat Jehan alleged fake encounter case is expected to submit its Action Taken Report in the Gujarat High Court.

The team is also probing the circumstances under which seven witnesses retracted their statements.

On October 7, the Gujarat High Court had asked the SIT to submit its final report by November 18.

A division bench of Justices Jayant Patel and Justice Abhilasha Kumari had said that substantial progress had been made in the case after SIT’s new chairman R R Verma took over the investigations.

Don’t think about migrating to India: Nawaz Sharif to Hindus

Karachi, November 18: Pakistan’s opposition leader Nawaz Sharif today told the Hindus not to think of migrating, saying they were safe in the country, days after three Hindu doctors were killed on broad daylight in Sindh province.

“Hindus are as much part of Pakistan as Muslims. It is duty of the government to provide protection to the minorities in the country. I tell them don’t worry about your future. Don’t think about migrating to India,” Sharif told the community leaders during his visit to the area to assuage the feelings of the grieved families.

Man bleeds to death at Delhi’s Nizamuddin railway station

New Delhi, November 18: It was a macabre sight at Delhi’s Hazrat Nizamuddin railway station on Wednesday afternoon, as Bhagwan, a resident of Kota, Rajasthan, slipped and his legs were trapped inside the Indore-bound Inter City Express’s stairs and the platform.

What followed was a rescue operation which can bring shame to Indian Railways.

There was no Railway ambulance at the station. The railway staff first tried to break the edges of the platform with a big hammer, then tried to saw off the stairs with a metal cutter, and finally used a gas cutter.

Malegaon blast: 5 years, 3 agencies and the discovery of Hindu terror

Mumbai, November 18: On September 8, 2006, a bomb ripped through the textile town of Malegaon, killing 36 people and injuring 100.

The investigation has changed hands from the Anti-Terrorism Squad to the Central Bureau of Investigation and finally to the National Investigation Agency.

Nine Muslim youths were arrested by the ATS and they filed the first charge sheet in the special court before the probe was handed over to the CBI in December 2006.

The investigating agency also got a sole approver Abrar Ahmed Sayyed, 33, who “confessed” to the crime.

13-year-old schoolboy hangs himself

Mumbai, November 18A student of class 8 allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself in his Andheri house on Wednesday. His family says he might have been trying a stunt after watching a cartoon show and did not succeed.

Abhishek Thakkar, 13, was a class 8 student in St Arnold High School at MIDC area of Andheri (East). He lived with his father Himanshi, a businessman, mother, his elder sister, Simran, and younger brother, Shreyas, in near Mahakali Caves in Andheri (East).

MoU signed for Rs 11,196 cr. Petro Refinery at Vizag
