Mumbai, October 06: It seems Sonam Kapoor is itching for an image makeover. The actress says she would love to do a sexy item number.

“No one asks me to do an item number. I am just asked to do classical type of films. So, I guess people have to start looking at me in that way and see me as a sexy item number girl, ” Sonam said at an event here.

The actress was recently seen in Pankaj Kapoor’s “Mausam” along with Shahid Kapoor. Although the film hasn’t got great reviews, she is not upset.

Shotgun has decided to give Sonakshi one independent apartment in the bungalow while her brothers Luv and Kush get to share another. This apparently because the Sinha couple felt that their children are grown up enough to need their own space.

Sarah Palin not to run for president

New York, October 06: Former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin says she will not run for the Republican presidential nomination in 2012.

“After much prayer and serious consideration, I have decided that I will not be seeking the 2012 GOP nomination for president of the United States,” Palin said in a public letter Wednesday, adding
“family comes first”.

Palin said her decision was based on a review of what common sense Conservatives and Independents have accomplished, especially over the last year, Xinhua reported.

Man steals Rs 6 lakh from Salman’s bodyguard!

Mumbai, October 06: A security guard, who was an employee of the Tiger security agency run by Salman Khan’s bodyguard Shera, is being hunted by cops for having stolen Rs 6 lakh from a cash collection box of a suburban theatre.

Ironically, he was guarding money that had been collected from ticket sales of Bodyguard, Shera’s most well-known client’s recent release. The accused Arvind Kumar Suresh Pathak is a native of Farfara in Allahabad, and is now absconding.

A source reveals that the two actors got engaged at a hush hush ceremony held at the former Maharashtra CM and father of the groom-to-be Vilasrao Deshmukh’s residence a fortnight ago.

Confirms a source, “They have been planning a wedding for a while now, and families of both stars thought that an official engagement would only be appropriate.” Interestingly, not a single friend of the couple’s from the industry was invited to celebrate their special day.

London, October 06: US-based television channel Lifetime is developing a movie based on the life of pop star Lady Gaga.

‘Fame Monster: The Lady Gaga Story’ will be written by Norman Snider and is based on Maureen Callahan`s 2010 book ‘Poker Face: The Rise And Rise Of Lady Gaga’.

The channel has sent out a casting call to find an actress to play the superstar in the movie as Gaga is not involved in the project, reports contactmusic.com.

‘Telangana Vidyarthi Aiykiya Vedika’ has launched this programme with this slogan ‘Andhras Go Back’. Hyderabad, October 06: A Nampally court sentenced the proprietor of a construction firm and her husband to three years simple imprisonment for misappropriating the property of a doctor misusing the General Power of Attorney given to them at the time of signing an agreement. The III Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate recently sentenced Ch. Niveditha Reddy of Nischint Constructions and her husband Baba Prasada Reddy after finding them guilty under section 406 (criminal breach of trust) of the Indian Penal Code.

No need for further talks on Telangana: TJAC

Hyderabad, October 06: Telangana Joint Action Committee (TJAC) chairman M Kodandaram has exuded confidence that the Congress-led UPA Government will take immediate measures to resolve the T issue.

Speaking to reporters here on Tuesday after returning from Delhi, Kodandaram said the Central Government had realised the gravity of the situation in Telangana following Sakala Janula Samme.

A TJAC delegation also met Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Monday demanding a separate Telangana state and apprised him of the situation in the region.

Gujarat High Court Seeks Modi, Governor Correspondence on Lokayukta

Ahmedabad, October 06: Gujarat High Court on Wednesday directed the state government to submit the correspondence between Chief Minister Narendra Modi and Governor Dr Kamala with regard to the ordinance seeking removal of Chief Justice from the committee that finalises Lokayukta candidate.

The division bench of Justices Akil Kureshi and Sonia Gokani sought the confidential letters exchanged by Modi and Dr Kamla between August 18 to August 26, in sealed cover.

Patna, october 06: Anand Kumar, who founded Super 30, Bihar’s widely acclaimed free coaching centre for Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) aspirants, has blamed the institutes’ entrance exam panel for the poor quality of students making the cut, a concern voiced by Infosys chairman emeritus N.R. Narayana Murthy.

Anand Kumar said if poor quality students, as felt by Narayan Murthy, were able to get into the IITs, it was the responsibility of the joint entrance examination (JEE) committee.
