Pro T Muslim parties denied permission for dharna

Hyderabad, October 29: City police has refused to grant permission to organize dharna to be organized by various pro Telangana Muslim organizations on October 29 at Indira park dharna chowk demanding speedy formation of separate Telangana state.

Central Zone DCP Akun Sabharwal rejected the application of the proposed dharna as a precautionary arrangement in view of the formation day function to be organized by the government at NTR stadium on November 1.

Mumbai, October 29: One has to shell out Rs.40,000 for a ticket to attend international pop star Lady Gaga`s performance at the F1 after-party in Greater Noida Sunday and the show is a total sell out, says actor-businessman Arjun Rampal, who is organising the event.

“The maximum capacity for the party is 1,000, and Gaga`s show is completely sold out,” Arjun told IANS.

The F1 after-parties, to be held as part of the Airtel Grand Prix of India, will take place at a special, 20,000 sq ft construction at the Jaypee Greens Golf and Spa Resort in Greater Noida.

Mining scam: CBI quizzes Andhra home minister

Hyderabad, October 29: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) questioned Andhra Pradesh Home Minister Sabita Indra Reddy in connection with an illegal mining case involving former Karnataka minister and mining baron Gali Janardhana Reddy, sources said.

A team of CBI officials Friday night questioned the minister in her office for two hours till 11 p.m., sources said.

The investigating agency quizzed Sabita regarding the mining leases given to Janardhana’s Obulapuram Mining Company (OMC), allegedly involved in illegal mining in Anantapur district bordering Karnataka.

KCR seeks apology for Naidu’s slur

Hyderabad, October 29 (Siasat News): Some unidentified robbers entered Deccan Grameen Bank situated in Moinabad police station limits and tried to rob the bank.

According to the details, the robbers entered the bank by breaking open the grill of the window and successfully accessed to the bank’s safe but could not open it though they tried a lot.

The panicky robbers then escaped from the place. This morning, when the security guard found the window broken, he immediately informed the police.

Free medicines at all government hospitals soon

Hyderabad, October 29: Universal Access to Medicines and Surgicals, a pilot project to ensure 100 percent availability of medicines and surgicals in all government hospitals and facilities to all patients, will be launched in three districts Adilabad, Chittoor and Srikakulam— in December.

All medicines and surgicals will be provided free of cost and no patient will be required to go to a private pharmacy to buy any medicine or surgical item. Before the scheme is launched, vacancies of doctors and pharmacists in hospitals will be filled up on contract basis.

Woman and friends kidnap cousin to pay off boyfriend’s debts

Hyderabad, October 29: A 20-year-old woman and three others have been arrested in Hyderabad, India, for kidnapping her young cousin to settle her boyfriend’s debts, Malaysia Nanban reported.

Payal Bhalchandani, whose family runs a well-known hotel in Maninagar, had kidnapped six-year-old Aditya on Monday and demanded Rs1 crore (about RM700,000) for the child’s release.

Mumbai, October 29: The day after Diwali, a police constable stabbed his wife to death in front of their two daughters because she was having an affair, cops said. The MIDC police arrested constable Shatrughan Meshram (38) from his house in the police quarters in Andheri (East) after he murdered Kavita by stabbing her eight times at 10.30 pm on Thursday. Cops added that he has no remorse for killing his wife.

Pilgrim’s bus crash on Madina-Tabuk highway

Khaibar, October 29: A tragic bus crash on the Madina-Tabuk highway Wednesday resulted in the death of a pilgrim and the injury of 17 others. The dead man from Dagestan was one of 38 pilgrims traveling from Russia and Dagestan to the holy sites.

Ambulances rushed to the scene of the accident and brought the injured to the General Hospital in Khaibar where a state of maximum alert was declared.
