Hyderabad, September 11: The Telangana Political Joint Action Committee demanded that the Central Government clear its stand on Telangana by September 12.

Talking to reporters after the JAC meeting held at Telangana Film Chambers here on Saturday, JAC chairman Prof Kodandaram asked the in-charge of Congress affairs in the State Ghulam Nabi Azad to spell out his stand on the Telangana. He reminded that Azad would be meeting Seemandhra leader on Sept 12 and immediately after the meeting, he must clarify his party’s stand on Telangana.

Gujarat riots: SC to decide Narendra Modi’s fate tomorrow

New Delhi, September 11: The Supreme Court will decide tomorrow the fate of Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi and 62 others for their alleged role in the 2002 Gujarat communal riots.

Special Investigation Team (SIT), set up by the apex court, in its report has told the court that the evidence is not adequate to prosecute Mr Modi.

Amicus curiae and senior counsel Raju Ramchandran has, however, raised question over the SIT report and his separate report has said that prime facie evidence is there to take action against the accused.

Azharuddin’s son still critical

Hyderabad, September 11: The condition of former Indian cricket Captain and Congress MP Mohammed Azharuddin’s son Ayazuddin, who wasseriously injured in a motorbike accident, continued to be criticalwhile his relative Ajmal, who was also injured, succumbed at theApollo hospitals here today.

The doctors attending on 18-year-old Ayazuddin, said, ”he was still alive, but his condition is extremely critical as he sustained multiple injuries on his head, chest and abdomen.”

”We are trying to save his life, but can’t assure anything now,”they said.

Qazis’ willfulness must be put to an end

Hyderabad, September 11: General Secretary Pradesh Congress committee Mr. Abid Rasool Khan has claimed to receive complaints regarding removal of the waqf properties list from the Waqf board website and collection of exorbitant fees by the Qazis. He appealed to chief minister and minority welfare minister to immediately intervene into both the matters.

He demanded to retrieve the list of waqf properties on the website and to put a curb on Qazis’ willfulness.

PA chief shrugs off ‘US threats’

Gaza, September 11: Acting Palestinian Authority (PA) Chief Mahmoud Abbas says the Palestinians will not stop their struggle for UN membership despite threats by the United States.

“We will go to the UN to obtain international recognition for the state of Palestine, despite the obstacles and dangers, including US threats to halt 470 million dollars in annual assistance,” he said in an interview with Jordan’s newspaper al-Rai on Sunday.

The Palestinian Authority has declared September 20 as the date when it would apply for United Nations recognition of Palestine as an independent state.

London, September 11: British Premier, David Cameron, has been accused of excessively complicating the state school system after promising to open new free schools over the next few years.

Senior academicians condemned Cameron as they referred to the maze-like array of diversified kinds of schools he plans to create as a “liquorice allsorts” system. ‘UK sold rifles to Libya ahead of unrest’

London, September 11: The British government, now vigorously hunting for Libya’s Muammar Gaddafi, had increased the sale of sniper rifles to the fugitive dictator weeks before uprising began in the country, a report says.

The documents found by the Sunday Telegraph reveals that last December, the British ambassador to Libya, openly persuaded the Libyan officials at the army to visit Britain to see the military equipments, such as rifles and machine guns.

CEEP 2011: 2nd phase of counseling, 12000 seats available

Hyderabad, September 11: The second phase of counseling for admissions into engineering diploma courses will be held on September 16 and 17. Candidates of CEEP 2011 are eligible to attend the counseling. Sources said that nearly 4 thousand seats remained vacant after the first phase of counseling. Besides that 4 thousand candidates didn’t take admission despite obtaining seats. Thus 8000 seats are vacant and AECTI has granted permission for further 3000 seats.

The 2nd phase of counseling for a total of 12000 seats will be held on September 16 and 17.

US mother charged with raping infant son

Dublin, September 11: An Ohio woman is accused of raping her 10-month-old son, videotaping it and sending it to her boyfriend in Michigan.

Ashley N Jessup, 24, was indicted in Columbus on Thursday on two counts of rape, one count of child endangerment and one count of pandering sexually-oriented material involving a minor.

Franklin County Prosecutor Ron O’Brien says the rape charge could land her life in prison.

3 youths jailed for ten years for raping girl

New Delhi, September 11: Three youths have been sentenced to ten years rigorous imprisonment by a Delhi court for gangraping a 19-year-old girl at knife point.

District judge P S Teji sentenced East Delhi residents Nesar (20), Sunny (22) and Mukesh (20) after convicting them for raping the girl in a slum while she was on her way back to home from work.

Delhi blast e-mails can be fake: Home secretary

New Delhi, September 11: Union Home Secretary R.K. Singh Saturday said that it wasn’t necessary that the e-mails claiming responsibility for the Delhi High Court blast were sent by the actual perpetrators.

“We are not dismissing receiving the e-mails… At the same time, we are not saying that these e-mails have been necessarily sent by those people responsible for it (blast),” Singh told reporters.

“It could be other people who, when they heard about the blast, sent these e-mails,” he added.

Saudi girl pregnant, dad raped for 5-month

Makkah, September 11: A Saudi mother who took her teenaged daughter to hospital after noticing she was not feeling well, was shocked to learn she was pregnant.

She nearly collapsed when her daughter said her father had raped her for five months.

Still in a state of a shock, the mother from the western town of Makkah dragged her 16-year-old daughter straight to the police and asked her to report her father.

It was unanimously resolved to request the Government of AP to make adequate arrangements for Ganesh Procession. An appeal was also issued to request the Muslims to cooperate with the Governmnet in maintaining law and order in the city and not to pay heed to rumours. National Merit Scholarship Eligibility Test

Hyderabad, September 11: According to a press note issued by the District Education Officer, Hyderabad, the eligibility test for National Merit Scholarship will be held from 10 am to 1 pm on Tuesday 20th September 2011.

Students of VII standard whose parents’ income is less than 1.5 Lakh are eligible to write this test. The test fees is Rs.100. Students belonging to S.Cs and STs, get 50% concession in the test fees.

The last date of remittance of test fees and registration of application is 15th September 2011.

Non Muslim youth propagates Islam

hyderabad, september, 11: Our correspondent met a man of extraordinary talent, Anil Kumar Chauhan, aged 45 years. He is an artist by occupation. Despite being a non Muslim he inscribes Quranic Ayahs in Arabic language. His calligraphy is quite aesthetic. Anil Kumar Chauhan has inscribed Quranic Ayahs on nearly 90 pulpits (minbars) of the mosques so far. He does so without taking any remuneration in return. If anyone gives anything as reward he accepts it but he never asks for. His mother tongue is Marathi but he can read and write Urdu also.

US, Israel in weak position: Iran

Tehran, September 11: Iran’s Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast says plots hatched by the US and Israel against Iran have failed to yield the intended effect, stressing Washington and its allies are in a weak position.

The conditions of the US and its allies have deteriorated in comparison with 32 years ago; they face serious problems and crises, Mehmanparast said in a meeting with a group of Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) commanders on Saturday.

“We should inform the world public opinion on the US and Israeli plots,” he added, IRNA reported.
