Hyderabad, September 24: The political strategy adopted by the TRS has both the Congress and Telugu Desam legislators, differing over the issue of submitting their resignations to the Assembly Speaker. Party legislators from the Congress and the Telugu Desam are blaming each other for the resignation issue, but they have realised, that the TRS chief, Mr K. Chandrasekhar Rao, is only trying to usher in bypolls for the region. If he does realise his plan, he may have the upper hand and secure his party maximum seats in the election by riding on the Telangana wave.

Nitish Kumar to flag off Advani’s yatra

Bihar, September 24: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar will flag off Bharatiya Janata Party leader L.K. Advani’s anti-corruption ‘rath yatra’ at Sitabdiara village in Saran district of Bihar on October 11.

The village is the birth place of veteran socialist leader Jai Prakash Narayan.

At a press conference here, BJP spokesperson Ravi Shankar Prasad said Mr. Kumar agreed to flag off the yatra after party president Nitin Gadkari called him up and made a formal request.

Israel wants peace with Palestine

United Nations, September 24: Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told the UN General Assembly Friday that his country desired peace with the Palestinians, but this could only be achieved through talks, not a UN resolution.

Netanyahu was speaking after Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas the General Assembly to ask it to recognise a Palestinian state. The latter filed a request with the UN for full membership earlier in the day.

“As Israel’s prime minister I didn’t come here for applause. I came here to speak the truth,” he said at the start of his address.

Jagjit Singh critical in ICCU

Mumbai,September 24 : Renowned ghazal singer Jagjit Singh was admitted to a hospital here today after he suffered a brain hemorrhage and is in a critical state, doctors attending to him said.
Doctors at the Lilavati Hospital in suburban Bandra performed a life-saving surgery on him, hospital sources said.

Singh (70) is under observation and is stated to be in critical condition, they said. Sources also say a medical bulletin will be released on Saturday afternoon.

Mr Singh was admitted just hours before he was to perform with another Ghazal maestro, Ghulam Ali in Mumbai.

Drunken Saudi man molest sales woman

Dubai, September 23: A drunk Saudi businessman allegedly molested a Chinese sales woman at the entrance of her building, the Dubai Criminal Court heard on Wednesday.

According to the prosecution, the incident took place on June 30 at the entrance of the victim’s building. The victim identified as YA, testified that at around 2.30pm when she was at the entrance of her building, she was shocked when someone came from the back and touched her at an inappropriate place.

Ex Union Minister Vasant Sathe is dead

Gurgaon, September 23: Congress veteran and former Union Minister Vasant Sathe died in Gurgaon on Friday night of heart attack. He was 86.

Sathe complained of chest pain late in the evening and was rushed to a private hospital where doctors declared him dead.

He breathed his last at 7:50 pm, doctors said. A lawyer by training, Sathe was the Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting in Prime Minister Indira Gandhi’s cabinet.

Hyderabad, September 23: In view of the proposed 48-hour ‘Rail Roko’ agitation in Telangana region on September 24 and 25th, the South Central Railway has made additional changes in the pattern of trains services.

According to the SCR, following trains have been cancelled:

1. Train No.57564 Nanded-Hyderabad Passenger leaving Nanded on 23rd September, 2011 is cancelled instead of 25th September, 2011 as intimated earlier.

2. Train No.67273/67274 Vijayawada-Guntur-Vijayawada Passenger is cancelled on 24th and 25th September, 2011.

Merrut, SEptember 23: Two get life term for murder of Meerut university professor Ghaziabad : A special CBI court here awarded life imprisonment to two people and a three-year jail to a third person held guilty in the 2006 murder of Meerut University professor Kavita Chaudhary.

The court awarded life term to Ravinder and Sultan for hatching a conspiracy, abducting the professor before killing her, destroying evidence, and extorting money from former state irrigation minister Merajuddin Ahmed.

The court awarded three-year jail term to Yogesh, the third person held guilty Yogesh.

Tirupati, September 23: Telugu Desam Party president Nara Chandrababu Naidu on Friday predicted the fall of Congress Government in the State in near future.

Explosives seized at Madhapur

Hyderabad, September 23: The Special Operations Team of Cyberabad police on Friday seized a huge quantity of explosives kept in house at a residential area in the Madhapur police limits.

During a raid, as many as 800 gelatine sticks and 800 detonators were seized from a house in Siddiq Nagar in the Madhapur police limits. Police say that the explosives are generally used at the construction site and they were purchased legally. However, the police is verifying that whether the owner could keep those explosive in a residential area.

Final Journey of Tiger Pataudi

Bhopal, September 23: The funeral procession of late former Indian cricket captain Mansur Ali Khan Pataudi began from his home here with sobbing family members, friends and several celebrities paying their last respects before his burial which will be held on Friday in Pataudi.

The former captain, who would forever be remembered for leading India to their maiden Test series triumph abroad, died on Thursday due to a lung infection at the age of 70.

Pataudi donated eye before death

New Delhi, September 23: Former India cricket captain Mansur Ali Khan Pataudi, who lost his right eye at the age of 20 in a car accident, helped some 1.5 lakh visually challenged people to get back their sight. And continued to do so even after his death when he donated his eye.

Pataudi, who died Thursday and was laid to rest in his native village Pataudi Friday, has donated his eye to the Delhi-based Venu Eye Institute, of which he was a brand ambassador since 2001. Someone will benefit from his generosity in a couple of days, an official said.

TRS targets T-TDP leaders

Hyderabad, September 23: The Telangana agitation took a violent turn on Friday when the activists, mostly TRS workers, physically attacked the legislators of Telugu Desam Party at different places in the region.

The TDP MLAs were holding one-day hunger strike in their respective constituencies demanding statehood for Telangana. However, their programme was totally sabotaged by the Telangana activists.
