More young people ‘have unsafe sex’

London, September 26: The proportion of young people admitting to having had unprotected sex with a new partner has risen over the past two years, according to a study.

A study of British 16 to 19-year-olds has shown 61% have had sex, with 43% of those who were sexually active admitting to having had sex with a new partner without using contraception compared to 36% in 2009.

Of those who admitted having had unprotected sex with a new partner, 23% said they had done so because their partner did not like using contraception, with 15% saying they had been drunk and forgot.

US drones kill dozens in Somalia

Somalia, September 26: The attacks took place on Sunday against the Hoosingow, Diif, and Taabto districts near the southern city of Afmadow, a Press TV correspondent reported.

Local elder Ahmed Kulmiye said hundreds of frightened families had started fleeing the area.

Two similar US-operated aircraft also reportedly crashed inside and along the coastline of the southern Kismayu port city, which is located some 500 kilometers to the south of the Somali capital, Mogadishu. Government officials described one of the aircraft as a spy drone and the other a destroyer.

2G: CBI to argue on Law Ministry report

New Delhi, September : CBI is likely to advance its arguments on Monday in a Delhi court on a Law ministry report that a firm should have more than 10 percent stakes in another for being termed an associate, a plea taken by 2G scam accused Reliance Telecom and Swan Telecom.

Special CBI Judge O P Saini had earlier asked CBI to place on record the report of the Ministry of Law and Justice given to the Department of Telecommunication on the issue of “associate” companies.

Top Naxal ‘commander’ arrested in Gadchiroli

Mumbai,. September 26: An alleged top Naxal commander from Chhattisgarh has been apprehended in a swift operation in Maharashtra’s Gadchiroli district, police said today.

The accused Somaji Ayutu Made (30), commander of Aheri Militia Dalam who hails from Parainar in Dantewada, had crossed the border for treatment and local purchases, they said.

Acting on a tip-off, Gadchiroli police arrested him yesterday, police said.

Hacker puts sex message on British MP’s phone

London, September 26: A hacker penetrated a British woman MP’s voicemail and left a sexually offensive message that asked callers whether they had recently indulged in a sex act, a media report said Sunday.

The hacker also disabled the House of Commons telephone system, the Daily Mail reported.

Claire Perry, Tory MP for Devizes in Wiltshire, 117 km from London, said she found her voicemail had been changed.

New Delhi, September 26: A three-wheeled rickshaw hardly seems the vehicle of choice for traveling thousands of kilometers and crossing 14 countries.
Yet the “Flying Rani,” a black-and-yellow auto rickshaw with a 175 cc engine, managed the trip from London to New Delhi, forging up steep slopes and through yawning potholes, with only one minor mishap.

“It has driven 10,200 kilometers and only got one flat tire,” said Sanjay Sharma, 44, a UK-based IT professional, at the end of his epic journey to raise money for cancer patients.

Telangana industries to observe two-day bandh

Hyderabad, September 26: The Telangana Industries Association has called for a 48-hour bandh for all industries located in Telangana region from Sunday-midnight in support of on-going Sakala Janula Samme, the general strike.

According to association president Sudhir Reddy, over 10,000 medium and small enterprises would remain close for two days from Monday onwards. Lakhs of employees engaged by these industries would participate in agitation demanding statehood for Telangana.

New York, September 26: After a 45 meeting with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, an angry Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee declined comment on the 2G controversy as it was sub judice and he first needed to talk to “our valued colleague” Home Minister P. Chidambaram.

Like Manmohan Singh, he too suggested that Sunday’s meeting was essentially to brief the prime minister about his interactions in the US and not about a finance ministry note to the PMO on the then finance minister’s role in the auction of the 2G spectrum.

Abhishek Bachchan Hurts Himself Again

New Delhi, September 26: After getting a gash near his eye while shooting for Rohit Shetty’s ‘Bol Bachchan’ a few days back, actor Abhishek Bachchan has now injured his finger on the sets of the same film in Jaipur.
