Hyderabadi pilgrims stranded at Rubat in Makkah Mukarrama

Jeddah, August 10: The waqf permits by Nizam’s trust are no more valid at Hyderabadi Rubat in the Makkah al Mukarrama city of Saudi Arabia nor they are considered authorized documents. As a result many such pilgrims who possess permits of Nizam’s trust are driven out of Rubat. Since no space is available there, scores of pilgrims arriving from Hyderabad face lot of hardships and they are forced to lie on roads.

Man caught using Sachin Tendulkar’s debit card

Mumbai, August 10: The Mumbai police was taken aback on Tuesday when they caught a man trying to withdraw money using Sachin Tendulkar’s debit card.

At an ATM near Bharatmata Cinema a 21-year-old Mahim resident, Shoyeb Doodhwala, tried to withdraw money from HSBC bank ATM. The police became suspicious when he took longer than usual, and were shocked to find that the card belonged to Sachin Tendulkar.

Gunman who shielded Akbaruddin Owaisi to be promoted

Hyderabad, August 10: MIM MLA Ahmed Balala’s gunman Mohammed Jani, who opened fire at assailants when they attacked Akbaruddin Owaisi in Barkas in April, is likely to be elevated as a head constable shortly.

A few days ago, the city police sent a letter to the state government recommending promotion for Jani. When contacted, deputy commissioner of police (City Security Wing) R B Naik confirmed the reports.

“We requested the government to promote Jani. He showed exemplary presence of mind in protecting the MLA at the time of attack,” Naik said.

Plans to introduce ticket issuing machines in RTC buses

Hyderabad, August 10: Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) is planning to introduce Ticket Issuing Machines in bus services across the state.
All buses in the state would be provided with Ticket Issuing Machines TIMs. The machine would be either with the driver or conductor. RTC sources said that this plan would be put into practice by the end of October. This was reported by RTC deputy chief mechanical engineer M Raja Sekhar.

‘Denying wife access to marital home is domestic violence’

Dismissing a petition filed by Buldhana resident Salim Khan, Justice A P Bhangale upheld a lower court’s order that the man’s estranged wife Meherunissa, who was thrown out of the house in 2001, could file a complaint under the Domestic Violence Act.

Bandh continues in Telangana

Hyderabad, August 10: Despite the announcement by the Center of its decision to delete the 14F clause from the Presidential Order, Telangana Students JAC leaders supported by TRS, TTDP and ‘T’ Government employees have preferred to go ahead with their Telangana bandh on Wednesday. They said they will not believe the paper statements of the politicians in this regard instead they need Presidential orders abolishing the 14F clause. Otherwise, the bandh will be observed and they will not allow the Government to conduct the SI Exams scheduled for 13th of August.

RPO streamlines verification mode

Hyderabad, August 10: The Regional Passport Office has done away with the token system so applicants need not wait in long queues from early morning to submit Tatkal applications.

In the new system, in force from Monday, applicants can come to the passport office around 7 am and stand in separate queues to directly submit passport applications at the different counters — labelled regular, emergency, elderly-children-women and VIP. Applicants are advised to submit normal applications at e seva centres and post offices and only come to the RPO for the Tatkal scheme.

Red Fort firing case: Arif’s death penalty upheld

New Delhi, August 10: The death sentence given to Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorist Mohd Arif alias Ashfaq in the 2000 Red Fort attack case in which three people, including two Army jawans, were killed, upheld by the Supreme Court on Wednesday.

A bench of justice VS Sirpukar and justice TS Thakur dismissed the appeal of Ashfaq, challenging the death sentence awarded for the December 22, 2000 Red Fort attack case by the sessions court and affirmed by the Delhi high court.

The apex court had reserved its verdict on Ashfaq’s appeal on April 20, 2011.

Telangana bandh hits life in AP

Hyderabad, August 10: The life in Telangana region of Andhra Pradesh once again came to standstill on Wednesday during a bandh called by a a student group, demanding jobs for locals in the police department.

Buses of state-owned Andhra Pradesh Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) went off the roads. Schools, colleges and universities remained shut while shops and business establishments also downed shutters in the ten districts of Telangana, which include Hyderabad.

3 sisters raped by Saudi sorcerer

Riyadh, August 10: A Saudi sorcerer claiming to possess healing and dream-interpreting ability seduced three local virgin sisters and raped them one after another before making them have sex with each other in front of him.

One sister who had got his phone number from a friend contacted the man and told him she had seen a bad dream and wanted him to interpret it for her.

The unnamed man, in his 30s, asked her to come to his apartment near the capital Riyadh and promised her to interpret it.

13 injured in Moradabad communal clash

Lucknow, August 10: Curfew prevailed in parts of Uttar Pradesh’s Moradabad city Wednesday after a communal clash involving Kanwariya pilgrims left 13 people injured, police said.

Violence broke out in Dasarai locality late Tuesday following heated arguments between some Hindu Kanwariya pilgrims and Muslims. Two policemen were among the injured.

Hyderabad, August 10: The Central Hajj Committee has returned 136 passports of the Andhra Pradesh state Hajj committee aspirants to AP Hajj Committee since the passports belong to those covers in which not all members of the covers have submitted their passports. State Hajj Committee chairman, Mr. Syed Khlaeeluddin Ahmed told that with this remark of central Hajj committee, that passports of all Hajj aspirants belonging to the same covers are to be sent collectively, a total of 136 passports belonging to 41 covers have been returned.

London rioters strip people naked to rob, target luxury brands

London, August 10: Rioters in London have forced people to strip naked in the streets before stealing their clothes, a media report said Tuesday.

There were shocking scenes as rioters stole clothes and rifled through bags as people made their way home, the Daily Mail reported.

Internet rumours Monday night claimed that besides destruction across London and Birmingham, people were having their clothes removed by looters as police attempted to contain the criminality, the newspaper said.

Facebook to be murdered on Nov. 5

London, August 10: The Anonymous Internet hacking group plans to “kill” Facebook. According to a Fox News report they call it “Operation Facebook”. The group have announced that it attempts to do so on November 5.

In a YouTube video, the hacking group warns, “Your medium of communication you all so dearly adore will be destroyed.”

The group calls people willing to protect their privacy to join them for the cause.

It claimed the social network, based in Palo Alto,Calif., provides information to “government agencies” so they can “spy on people.”

GOVT. IS SERIOUS TO CANCEL SECTION 14F: CM KIRAN KUMAR REDDY

Hyderabad, August 10: (Siasat News) Mr. N. Kiran Kumar Reddy said that the Govt. is serious about the cancellation of section 14 F of the presidential order. Candidates from Telangana will not face injustice. He said that if attempts are made to disrupt sub-inpsectors’ examination, it will be an injustice to Telangana candidates. He also told that the Ministers of A.P. are not against conducting these examinations. They are worried about the future of these candidates. He informed that the notification for calling for applications for sub-inspectors’ posts was issued in 2008.

Hyderabad not to be ‘free zone’ anymore

Hyderabad, August 10: In what will come as a major relief to the government, the Cabinet Committee on Political Affairs (CCPA) on Tuesday gave the go-ahead for the deletion of Clause ‘f’ of Para 14 of the Presidential Order that makes Hyderabad a “free zone” for employment.

The deletion of the clause had become a pivotal issue for the Telangana agitators who wanted the recruitment examination for SIs, to be deferred till the clause was deleted from the Presidential Order.
