Teen sneaks into Chennai airport, undetected

Chennai, August 13: A thirteen-year-old boy caused a flutter after he allegedly strayed into the Chennai airport premises on Friday.
The ground staff and CISF personnel were reportedly engaged in a hot pursuit, before nabbing the boy. It all started when Kiran (name changed) was spotted loitering near a waiting cargo aircraft beyond the taxi-track Alfa, at 6:45 am, said the ground staff. When they began shouting at him, the boy took flight and evaded the staff on morning duty.

The stone-pelter menace

Chennai, August 13: Commuters of a Beach-bound Electric Multiple Unit (EMU) were in for a rude shock when a sharp stone was pelted on the train, after it crossed the Nungambakkam railway station on Monday afternoon. Though none was injured in the uncrowded compartment, a regular passenger complained that such stone pelting incidents were a routine feature in the Nungambakkam-Chetpet section.

Pork seller beheaded

Hyderabad, August 13: A pork seller was beheaded by his cousin and a friend near Acharya NG Ranga University on Friday.
According to police, the victim P Krishna (27), started pork business a few days ago. Krishna’s cousin P Nandu and his friend Balaraju were also into the same business.

Nandu suspected Krishna of stealing his pigs and warned him not to do so.
While negotiating, Nandu sprinkled chilli powder in Krishna’s eyes chopped off his head.
Sadanand, who accompanied Krishna, fled and informed Krishna’s parents.

Hyderabad August 13: Additional commissioner of police (Traffic) CV Anand was caught for breaking traffic rules on Thursday. What’s more, he also paid a challan issued to him for the violation. A smiling Anand paid Rs100 while his driver paid the remaining Rs100 on the busy Somajiguda road while all his subordinates stood there smiling sheepishly. Ban on Aarakshan hits small theatres

Hyderabad August 13: The controversial Clause 14 (f) from the Presidential Order might have been deleted making Hyderabad no more a free zone, but the written examination for recruitment of sub-inspector of police posts would still be conducted under the shadow of gun with pro-Telangana parties and organisations demanding that the exam be postponed by a month.
They want the examinations to be held after a month as the Telangana students have not prepared fully for the exam as they were taking active part in the agitations for deletion of the clause.

Hyderabad, August 13: The written examination for recruitment of police sub-inspectors began Saturday near here and in Karimnagar town amid massive security in view of the threats by pro-Telangana groups to disrupt it, officials said.

Over 4,000 police and paramilitary personnel have been deployed at BHEL township near Hyderabad, where the test is being conducted at six centres. Tight security has also been made at Karimnagar, also in Telangana region.
Police have sealed all roads leading to the BHEL township. Even residents have to show identity proof before being allowed to enter.

4 killed, 30 injured in train derail in Poland: report

Warsaw, August 13: Four people were killed and 30 injured after a train derailed in central Poland on Friday,local media reported.

The train, which belongs to the PKP state rail company Intercity, was traveling from Warsaw to the southern city of Katowice when it derailed Friday afternoon in the vicinity of Piotrkow Trybunalski in central Poland.

One of the four derailed carriages fell out of the rails and overturned. About 280 passengers were believed to be on board the train, Polish PKP railways spokesman Lukasz Kurpiewski told TVN24.
