Riyadh, August 03: A young Saudi man raped his childhood friend after threatening him with a knife following a party at a rest house in the Gulf Kingdom.

The man, in his 20s, was walking back with his 19-year-old friend after the party when he asked him to come with him to a dark lane for an important subject.

“When they were alone, the man pulled out a knife and put it on his friend’s neck…after raping him, he fled…police are still searching for the rapist,” Kabar newspaper said in a report from the southern province of Almajardah.

New Delhi, August 03: As many as 117 government websites were hacked in first six months of this year, government informed Lok Sabha today.

However, the website of National Investigation Agency was not hacked but “temporarily disabled”, Minister of State for Communications and Information Technology Sachin Pilot said in a written reply.

“…a total of 117 Government websites were defaced during the period January-June, 2011,” the Minister said.

Talking to mediapersons during a visit to Gandhi Ashram after his arrival here this morning, Mr Thackeray said he has embarked on Gujarat visit to witness the impressive development made by the state. His proposed meeting with Mr Modi this evening has no political undertones.

Hyderabad, August 03: Condemning the Telangana Rashtra Samithi and Telangana Political Joint Action Committee for threaten the Legislators with dire consequences if they fail to resubmit their resignations before August 6, Congress MLA from Telangana S Satyanarayana on Wednesday emphasised that the Congress leaders from Telangana had submitted their resignations voluntarily for the cause of separate statehood and not due to pressure mounted by others.

“The TRS and TPJAC have no right to issue ultimatums,” Mr Satyanarayana told media persons on the Assembly premises.

Hyderabad, August 03: The Congress high command is probably going to take a decision on the resignation of Telangana Congress MPs after negotiations with party leaders belonging to two other regions of the state is complete.

Party sources said that in view of the adamant stand taken by the T Congress MPs on their resignations, the party high command is of the opinion that any discussions with the T Congress MPs now is undesirable and only entrusted the matter to the PCC chief, Mr Botsa Satyanarayana, who reached Delhi on Tuesday evening.

Jeddah, August 03: Saudi construction company Bin Laden group will build the world”s tallest tower for 1.2 billion dollars north of Jeddah.

Saudi Arabian Prince Alwaleed bin Talal revealed that he had signed the deal to build the 3,280 feet high Kingdom Tower.

The mega project, first announced in 2008, would cover two square miles at its base and stand a kilometre high.

It is the first among several sprawling mega projects proposed for a ”Kingdom City” plan and is among one of seven ambitious projects in the kingdom, the Daily Mail reports.

Private hospital managements have declared a virtual boycott of the signature healthcare scheme after the government decided to pull 133 medical procedures out of their purview and give them to state hospitals exclusively.

Mumbai, August 03: A 24-year-old model, Tarun Kapoor, was arrested by the Andheri police on Monday for robbing travellers after flying in two of his aides from another city. After conducting the robbery, the aides would fly back with the loot and would later share it equally.

A native of Delhi, Tarun had come to Mumbai a few years ago and stayed in a rented flat at Oshiwara.
