Hyderabad, July 27: Mr. Farooq Husain MLC in a letter to chief minister stated that the government of Andhra Pradesh has allotted a budget of 100 lakh rupees for Muslim mass marriages for the year 2011-12 which is inadequate pertaining to Muslim minority population of the state. Minorities of the state are mostly living below poverty line. The welfare programme of Muslim mass marriages of the government holds significance for the poor Muslims particularly for those residing in rural areas.

Cairo, July 27: NATO says it will continue bombing the Libyan regime’s armed forces as long as needed, and the country’s leader, Moammar Gadhafi, cannot “wait us out.”

Spokeswoman Carmen Romero said Tuesday that, as long as Gadhafi’s forces threaten civilians, NATO will continue air operations over Libya.

When NATO took command of operations, it expected that a sharp blow would quickly persuade Gadhafi to yield power. But the bombing campaign — now in its fifth month — has yet to dislodge his regime.

Patna, July 27: Maoists, who are observing a 24-hour shutdown, blasted a mobile phone tower in Bihar’s Saran district early Wednesday, police said.

A group of armed Maoists used a dynamite to blast the mobile phone tower at a village under Maker police station in Saran, police said.

Police have launched a combing operation in the area.

The rebels are observing a 24-hour shutdown to protest alleged police atrocities against their supporters.

Washington, July 27: Jammu and Kashmir separatist leader, Ghulam Nabi Fai has been ordered to release from Jail and put under house arrest under electronic surveillance with radio tag on his knuckles by a US court.

Kashmir-born US citizen, Fai, was arrested by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), last week on charges of working for the government of Pakistan, in particular its spy agency, the Inter Services Intelligence (ISI), to lobby at the Capitol Hill and the Administration on Kashmir.

Washington, July 27: The Obama administration says Osama bin Laden’s death has raised the risk of anti-American violence worldwide.

The State Department said in a global travel warning on Tuesday that Americans should take precaution and maintain vigilance about terrorist threats, demonstrations and the possibility of violence against US citizens.

It said al-Qaida and other groups are planning terror attacks against US interests in Europe, Asia, Africa and Middle East.

New Delhi, July 27: Union Rural Development Minister Jairam Ramesh has stirred a controversy by wiping his shoe with a garland of spun cotton (khadi) given to him as a token of respect by Congress workers at a function in Rajasthan, with his party Tuesday conveying its disapproval.

Congress general secretary Janardan Dwivedi conveyed the party’s disappointment over Ramesh’s action without directly naming him.

“In the life of a nation, there are certain important symbols and one should be more careful and sensitive about them,” Dwivedi said.

Tension prevailed when GHMC workers started to remove a mechanic shed opposite Anusha Hospital on Gudimalkapur main road.

Hyderabad, July 27: State Govt issued G.O Ms. No. 154 dt 26-07-2011 dismissing the most corrupt employee of AP State Wakf Board, Mr. S M Raza Zaidi. The G.O. enumerated the circumstances in which the said employee was reinstated after he was dismissed earlier. The former CEO of Wakf Board had misled the Govt for reinstating him.

Hyderabad, July 27: Andhra Pradesh government employees’ unions in Telangana region would participate in the proposed strike in support of separate statehood agitation from August 17.

“We have given a notice to join the agitation from August 1 and, accordingly, we will take part in the stir. We want Union Home Minister P Chidambaram’s statement in favour of separate statehood to be implemented,” K Swamy Goud, a leader of Telangana non-gazetted officers association, told reporters here.

Gandhinagar, July 27: Gujarat Health and Tourism Minister Jaynarayan Vyas Tuesday accused the Congress-led UPA government at the centre of misusing the CBI to harass the democratically elected government of the state.

Referring to a sting operation carried out by a news channel, Vyas, the official spokesperson of the state government, said it amply exposed the central government’s motive of defaming the Gujarat government.

Govt had instructed the Dept of Minorities Welfare to issue Minority Status Certificate temporarily for a year and if no complaint is received in a year permanent Minority Status could be given to a college but the situation changed in 2003.

Jammu, July 27: The Hizbul Mujahideen terrorist killed in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kishtwar district has been identified as Subash alias Wasif, a Hindu member of the militant group, an army spokesperson said Wednesday.

Police had said Tuesday that the Hizbul commander killed after a gunfight in the forests of Kishtwar, about 210 km from here, was district commander Sajjad Ahmad alias Mohammad Rizwan.

However, the real identity was discovered after the body was brought down to Kishtwar town, the spokesperson said.

New Delhi, July 27: Home minister P Chidambaram on Monday said there are nine documented cases involving right-wing terror groups making bombs and killing people and BJP is targeting selective ministers because the UPA government has quickened investigations into them.

He said the objective of these fundamentalist groups was to clearly create terror and the government has to deal with that.

London, July 27: Former England captain Nasser Hussain reckons that the MS Dhoni-led Indian team lost the Lord’s Test against England because of being under-prepared.

“India just turned up with totally inadequate preparation and expected everything to be alright on the night. Do they not value their status as the best Test team in the world? They did not seem to be here,” Hussain wrote in an article for the Daily Mail.

New Delhi, July 27: Reports that the BJP central leadership was considering alternative names for appointment in his place in view of the report of the Lokayuktha allegedly indicting him in the mining lease issue was mere speculation by the media, Karnataka Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa said on Tuesday.

“The BJP leaders clearly told me that they have to study the report first and the report is going to be given to the Karnataka government only on Wednesday. Then where is the question of the leadership considering options to remove me?” he told The-Hindu over phone from Bangalore.

Hyderabad, July 27: YS.Jagan Mohan Reddy will start his Odarpu Yatra from Maddikera in Kurnool on Wednesday at 10.30 am. He will unveil his father’s statue and address the people there.

Later, he will proceed to Adhoni via several villages unveiling YSR statues and conducting road shows. He will console four families living at Maddikera, Nagaradona, Pacharlapalli and Adhoni areas. During this 10th day of OY he will cover around 95Kms and unveil 10 statues on his way to Adhoni, where he will rest tonight.

It is a holy month of worship and contemplation, a time to purify the soul, refocus on one’s relationship with Allah and practise self-sacrifice and charity.
