Hyderabad, June 2 (INN): After a long period of trying to outmanoeuvre each other, Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu may have managed to bell the proverbial cat and get the better of YSR Congress Party president YS Jaganmohan Reddy by his decision to introduce a No Confidence Motion against the Congress government.

Delhi CM drivers arrested for misbehaving with woman

New Delhi, June 02: Two men were arrested for allegedly misbehaving with a 22-year old woman, Police said. Both men are drivers of Chief Minister Shiela Dixit’s convoy.

Jagdish Kumar and Rajesh Kumar, both around 35, were arrested late Wednesday and were set free on bail Thursday.

According to the woman’s brother Mohit, the incident occurred around 10.15 p.m. Wednesday when the woman was standing outside her home in central Delhi to find an auto for her friend.

Sania, who lifted a Grand Slam title when she won the mixed doubles with compatriot Mahesh Bhupathi at the Australian Open in 2009 after losing the final the previous year, is in the midst of her best year on the Tour.

Man killed wife’s dad in Dubai

Dubai, June 02: An Asian man in Ajman has been charged of murdering his father in law while drunk following a dispute because of his wife’s separation from him, the Arabic language daily Emirat Alyoum reported on Thursday.

The unidentified defendant told court that he could not remember killing his father in law because he was drunk, the paper said.

The prosecutor said the man used a sharp object to hit his wife’s father on the head before stabbing him many times. He then left the murder tools at his home and fled to nearby Sharjah, where he was later caught by the police.

Boy sells kidney to buy iPad 2

Beijing, June 02: A student sold his kidney for 20,000 yuan (S$3,800) to buy an iPad 2.

The 17-year-old boy named Xiao Zheng, wanted the gadget but did not have money. He then found out online that he could sell his kidney for fast cash.

The person told the teenager he could get 20,000 yuan if he sold his kidney.

Three men, believed to be members of an organ selling syndicate, met the boy at a hospital in Chenzhou, Hunan, on April 28 to have his kidneys removed.

They gave him an extra 2,000 yuan when they left.

Female prison officer in sex with killer

British female prison officer has been suspended over allegations that she had an affair with a murderer at the prison where she works.

The officer faces accusations of having slept with Leigh Thornhill, who is jailed at Wakefield Prison for killing a mother-of-two and violently attacking another woman on a single night.

The 27-year-old ex-soldier was found guilty of killing 38-year-old Corinne Bailey with a piece of wood on August 16, 2003. Bailey’s body was discovered near Thornhill’s home with 68 separate injuries to her head, torso and limbs.

TDP leader, include 7 killed in seperate accident

Hyderabad, June 02: Seven persons, including a Telugu Desam party (TDP) leader from Kadapa district, were killed and five others injured in two separate accidents in different parts of Andhra Pradesh on Wednesday, police said.

The TDP leader Venkata Swamy Reddy, along with four others, was travelling in an Innova car from Kadapa to Hyderabad when it collided with a truck on NH-18 between Nandyal-Panyam in Kurnool district at around 1.30 am on Wednesday.

Reddy and three others died on the spot, they said.

TDP to move no-trust motion against Andhra government

Hyderabad, June 02: The main opposition Telugu Desam Party (TDP) in Andhra Pradesh Thursday decided to move no-confidence motion against the state’s Congress government.

TDP chief N. Chandrababu Naidu told reporters that the party would give notice for the no-confidence motion to Deputy Speaker N. Manohar.

Stating that the motion is being moved on problems faced by farmers, Naidu said his party is ready for any situation, including elections to the state assembly.

Censor Board officials raid Odeon theatre, seize Veera print

Hyderabad, June 02: The Censor Board officials and the police raided the Odeon theatre on Wednesday and seized the print of the Telugu film Veera, which was being screened with all the scenes objected to and cut by the four-member examining committee.

Ms Dhanalaxmi, regional officer of the Board, sought an explanation from the filmmakers for “clandestinely” including scenes with a snake and some violent visuals that were cut by the examining committee.
