Indian diplomat’s daughter accused of obscene emails

New York, June 03: US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton should look into the matter of an Indian diplomat’s teenage daughter, who was wrongfully arrested on the suspicion of sending obscene emails to her teacher, the girl’s lawyer has said.

“She (Clinton) has an obvious right and power to be involved in a matter where there is obvious misconstruction of the Vienna Convention,” Ravi Batra, the lawyer in the Krittika Biswas case, told PTI, referring to the agreement that governs consular relations between countries.

Andhra youth kills girlfriend, attempts suicide

Hyderabad, June 03: A young man murdered his girlfriend Friday by slitting her throat in full public view and later attempted to kill himself by the same dagger, police said.

The incident took place in Khammam town.

The woman, identified as Srilata, died while being shifted to a hospital while her lover identified as Srinivas is stated to be critical in a hospital.

The youngsters, both aged around 20, were in love but differences developed between them after the girl’s family objected to the affair.

Match-fixing between Naidu and CM to weaken T movement

Hyderabad, June 3: TRS floor leader E Rajender alleged that TDP chief Mr. N Chandrababu Naidu was a staunch supporter of united Andhra and he could never favour separate Telangana. Talking to press persons Rajender referred to Naidu’s press conference in which he had mentioned Andhra Pradesh state and preservation of Telugu culture.

Passport position of Haj Pilgrims

Hyderabad, June 03: Chairman of State Haj Committee Mr. Syed Khaleeluddin met the Regional Passport officer Mr. Srinivas Goutro and had a detailed discussion about the status of issuing of passports to Haj Pilgrims.

The passport officer informed him that out of 506 applications of reserved category, action is being taken on 123 applications. Out of 1932 applications of general category, 456 cases have already been decided and 382 passports have already been received by Haj Committee.

Hyderabad, June 03: A meeting of the Markazi Hilal Committee of sadar Majlis-e-Ulema-e-Deccan was held under the chairmanship of Maulana Syed Mohammed Qubool Basha Shuttari at Husaini Building, Moazzamjahi Market which declared that the Moon was not sighited today and no reports of sighting the Moons were received today. The Committee, therefore declares that Friday 3rd June will be 30th Jamadis-sani.

California, June 03: A couple was jailed for life for kidnapping a schoolgirl and raping her while holding her captive for almost two decades, in a case which shocked America.

Phillip Garrido, who fathered two children with Jaycee Dugard after kidnapping her in 1991 when she was 11 years old, was given 431 years, while his wife Nancy was jailed for between 36 years and life, after a plea bargain with prosecutors.
