Washington, March 04: Vikramaditya Singh, son-in-law of RLD leader Ajit Singh, has been sentenced to six months of home confinement by a US court and now faces deportation after he was caught in a federal sting operation selling military grade micro wave radios to Iran.

Singh(34), a Arizona-based electronics dealer, was targeted by undercover agents of US Homeland Security in Philadelphia as a follow-up to a sting involving Iranian arms broker Amir Ardebili.

Washington, March 04: People who are loved and accepted by others feel so secure that they place lesser monetary value on their possessions that those who are not.

The research was conducted by Edward Lemay, assistant professor of psychology at the University of New Hampshire and colleagues from Yale University, the Journal of Experimental Psychology reports.

Researchers conducted experiments to gauge how much people valued specific items, such as a blanket and a pen, according to a New Hampshire statement.

28 kids fall ill after eating noodles in China

Beijing, March 04: At least 28 primary school students in an eastern China province fell ill after eating instant noodles that had passed the use-by date, officials said Friday.

The pupils suffered from mild food poisoning and stomach ache after eating the noodles at breakfast Thursday provided by the Hushan Primary School in Xiaoxian county of Anhui province, Xinhua quoted Meng Xiangyong, deputy head of the local education bureau, as saying.

The instant noodles, eaten by over 100 pupils at the school, exceeded their shelf life by over 10 days, he said.

London, March 04: “Twilight” director Catherine Hardwicke has revealed that Kristen Stewart felt an instant attraction towards Robert Pattinson when they met for the first time at the audition.

34-year-old lady arrested for aiding teen’s rape

Mumbai, March 04: The police arrested a 34-year-old lady tutor for allegedly aiding a youth in the locality to befriend and ” rape” her 17-year-old neighbour.

Kurla resident Harsha Kura allegedly also allowed Shahnawaz Shaikh (26) to use her flat at Belgami Road to commit the offence on several occasions.

An investigator said Kura resides with her mother and runs a private coaching class. “Shaikh who knew Kura asked for her help to get close to the girl,” the investigator said.

New Delhi, March 04: Within 24 hours of the Supreme Court reprimanding the central government for not having the “will power” to act against black money hoarders, reports claimed, Friday, the Enforcement Directorate and the Income Tax department have issued fresh summons to Hasan Ali Khan – dubbed as India’s biggest tax evader.

Based in Pune, Hasan Ali is alleged to have stashed billions of dollars of unaccounted money in foreign banks. In 2009, he was served a notice for a tax demand for about Rs 50,000 crore.

Babri Masjid case: Notice to Advani

New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Friday issued notices to top BJP leader LK Advani and 20 others in connection with the Babri Masjid demolition case.

The court was acting on a petition moved by the CBI challenging an Allahabad High Court order that dropped charges of criminal conspiracy against Advani and others for their alleged role in instigating the kar sevaks, thus playing a part in bringing down of the structure.

CBI files charges against tainted judge

Chandigarh, March 04: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) Friday filed charges against Justice Nirmal Yadav of the Uttarakhand High Court who has been named in a graft case.

The probe agency filed the chargesheet in a court here against Yadav who was Punjab and Haryana High Court judge when Rs.15 lakh were recovered from the door of another judge of the same court, Nirmaljit Kaur. The money was said to have been delivered to Yadav’s residence but was taken to Nirmaljit Kaur’s residence due to confusion over names.

Vashu wants a solo release for son Jackky’s FALTU

Mumbai, March 04: After Jackky Bhagnani’s debut film Kal Kissne Dekha proved to be a turkey, Vashu Bhagnani is re-launching him in Remo D’Souza’s FALTU and doesn’t want to take any chances.

Saudis to hold ‘Day of Rage’ rally

Riyadh, March 04: A group of Saudi activists have called for a “Day of Rage” rally in the oil-rich Eastern Province after Friday prayers, following the arrest of a Shia cleric.

The Friday event in Al-Hufuf is organized by a group of 500 cyber activists on Facebook.

The organizers have called on the protesters to call for the release of Sheikh Tawfiq al-Amer, AFP reported.

Amer was incarcerated after he called for a “constitutional monarch” in the kingdom.

Goga Kapoor dead

Mumbai, March 04: Bollywood character actor Ravinder Kapoor, who was popularly known as Goga Kapoor, has died after a prolonged illness.

The actor, who is survived by his wife and three daughters, breathed his last Wednesday at his Jankalyan Nagar (Malad) residence. He was 70.

“He was ailing for two years, ” a source close to the actor told.

Kapoor had worked in more than 500 films including “Kayamat”, “Patthar ke Phool”, “Qayamat se Qayamat Tak” and “Agneepath” among many others.

Israeli bombs spread cancer in Gaza

Gaza, March 04: The number of cancer patients has been climbing in Gaza due to the use of depleted uranium by the Israeli military during its onslaught on the impoverished enclave two years ago, medical sources say.

After the war, cancer cases have reportedly increased by about 30 percent in Gaza, Media correspondent reported on Thursday.

“We have seen a sharp increase in blood cancer and other types of the diseases. Many patients come from the areas that were attacked by Israeli fighter jets using banned chemical weapons,” Oncologist Mohammed Atteya said.

China to put man on the moon by 2030

Beijing, March 04: China plans to make a manned moon landing by 2030, but the purpose of exploration of the moon should be seen as “peaceful” rather than a threat, a top scientist has said.

Ye Peijian, chief scientist of deep space exploration at the China Academy of Space Technology, said China’s space technology still lags far behind the US and Russia, according to China Daily.

2 day job fair starts in Guntur Engineering College

Guntur, March 04: A two-day job mela kicked off on the premises of Guntur Engineering College at Yanamadala village.

College chairman M. Nara Hari Rao and principal K.L Narayana said that more than 1,500 students from all over the State registered for the job mela.

Libyan opposition rejects govt. talks

Tripoli, March 04: A Libyan anti-government group The National Council has rejected negotiations with the government unless Muammar Gaddafi goes into exile.

“If there is any negotiation it will be on one single thing — how Gaddafi is going to leave the country or step down so we can save lives. There is nothing else to negotiate,” said Ahmed Jabreel, an aide to the council on Thursday.

“We are not going to negotiate any political solution. We want him put on trial, but if we don’t give him an exit, we know more people will be killed,” Jabreel added.
