New Delhi, December 02: Two youths, suspected to be involved in Dhaula Kuan gangrape incident, have been arrested, while the third accused has surrendered himself late last night.

”We have arrested two suspects in the BPO employee gangrape case and have learnt that another person has surrendered himself in a Haryana court,” Deputy Commissioner of Police HGS Dhaliwal (South) said.

The two accused have been identified as Shamshad and Usman, both aged around 23 years, the senior official said and added that the two have a similar criminal background.

BrahMos Missile Test-Fired Successfully

Balasore, December 02: India today successfully test-fired the 290-km range BrahMos cruise missile from the Integrated Test Range at Chandipur off the Orissa coast.

The supersonic cruise missile with precision strike capability was test-fired from a mobile launcher at 1100 hours from the launch pad No. 3 of the ITR, defence sources said.

“The trial was successful,” they said.

Pak Hindu family exhumed girl’s body after objections

Islamabad, December 02: A Hindu family had to exhume the body of a little girl it had mistakenly buried in a Muslim graveyard in the Pakistani garrison city of Rawalpindi and rebury it in an adjacent Christian cemetery after objections from Muslims.

The Hindu family exhumed the girl’s body from Ratta Amral graveyard on Tuesday night under tight security and reburied it in the adjoining cemetery.

The girl’s family, which lives in The Mall area of Rawalpindi, are Balmeki Hindus, some of whom bury their dead instead of cremating them.

Jagan to float his party soon

Hyderabad, December 02: Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy, who recently resigned from the Congress and as MP, will soon launch his new party, his close aide announced Thursday.

Jagan, as the son of late Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy is popularly known, was holding consultations with his close followers to float a new political party, the aide said.

Ambati Rambabu, who acts as spokesman for Jagan, told reporters outside Jagan’s residence that Jagan himself would make the announcement. “He will definitely form a new party soon but I can’t say when,” he said.

The apex court also took strong exception to the tone and tenor of Raja’s letter to the Prime Minister, saying it amounted to showing “disrespect” to the highest authority in the country.

New Delhi, December 02: Two of the five men accused of raping a 30-year-old BPO employee here have been arrested and a third has surrendered in Haryana, Delhi Police said Thursday.

“There are five suspects, of whom two have been arrested. We have learnt that another person has surrendered in a Haryana court. We are looking for the other two accused,” Deputy Commissioner of Police (south) H.G.S Dhaliwal said here.

Nira Radia’s phone intercepts deposited in Supreme Court

New Delhi, December 02: The central government Thursday handed over the telephone intercepts of corporate lobbyist Nira Radia’s conversations with media and politicians in the 2G spectrum allotment case to the Supreme Court.

Jaganmohan Reddy Thursday, two days after they reportedly came to blows, and said they would “be together henceforth”. But he was heckled by the latter’s supporters while returning from the meeting.

The two met at Jagan’s home soon after the latter returned from their native Kadapa district.

Vivekananda, the younger brother of late chief minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, denied reports in a section of media that he and Jagan came to blows during a meeting at Kadapa Tuesday night.

Muslim man brutally bashed in US jail

Idaho, December 02: On camera, a prisoner in an Idaho jail in America was beaten into a coma by another inmate while prison guards looked on.

Hanni Elabed, who is 24, banged on a guard station window, pleading for help, but no one came to his aid.

His attacker took a breather and began beating an unconscious Hanni for a second time until he got tired.

“I’m imagining him reaching for this door while this guard is on the other side and never once trying to help him,” said Zahe Elabed, Hanni Elabed’s brother.

School mistress says she gave sex education to abused boys

Sydney, December 02: A house mistress in an Australian school sexually abused boys aged 11 and 12 and rationalised her behaviour as providing sex education, a court has been told.

The unnamed 41-year-old woman had “lots and lots of personality difficulties” and she knew her actions were wrong, psychiatrist David Greenberg told the New South Wales district court.

The woman pleaded not guilty to 21 sex offences on the basis of having a mental illness at the time.

Patna, December 02: A man in Bihar was so happy at Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s return to power that he chopped off a finger as an offering to god – for the second time in five years.

Anil Sharma, a resident of Ghoshi in Jehanabad district, cut off his finger at a temple.

“I chopped off a finger and offered it to god as I had vowed I would do so if Nitish Kumar returned to power for a second term,” Sharma, who is not well off, told IANS on telephone Thursday.

He had done the same when Nitish Kumar came to power in November 2005.
