A source reveals, “Prabhu Deva and Ayesha were on the show to promote their film Wanted with Salman asking them several questions about the film.

Akram: Aamer needs to gain weight

Karachi, June 24: Wasim Akram, the former Pakistan fast bowler, has said the 17-year-old left-arm seamer Mohammad Aamer needs to put on weight to add more power to his bowling.

Aamer who called for his selection to the national side in July last year, made his international debut in the World Twenty 20 and took six wickets at a strike-rate of 24 from seven matches. He played a crucial role in the final, dismissing Tillakaratne Dilshan for a duck in the first over.

Doctor denies gay sexual assault

Melbourne, June 24: THE former head doctor of a South African AIDS treatment centre has denied allegations he sexually assaulted a gay patient at a Brisbane clinic.
The 58-year-old doctor, who cannot be identified, was arrested yesterday after a 22-year-old patient complained to police he had been touched inappropriately during a physical examination.

The doctor was charged with one count of sexual assault and appeared in the Brisbane Magistrates Court today afternoon where he applied for bail.

People on ‘terror watch’ list able to buy guns: US

Washington, June 24: Hundreds of people on the FBI’s “terrorism watch list” were able to buy firearms over the past five years because of a gap in US gun ownership restrictions, according to a new report delivered to US lawmakers.

The Government Accountability Office (GAO), the investigative arm of the US Congress, released findings Monday showing that 963 people on the list tried to buy firearms between February 2004 and February 2009 and that 90 percent of them succeeded.

New South Wales to approach Afridi

London, June 24: Shahid Afridi, who guided Pakistan to glory in the Twenty20 World Cup, may soon receive an offer to play in Sheffield Shield for the Australian domestic side New South Wales.

The 29-year-old cricketer helped Pakistan win their first major title in 17 years by beating their sub-continental rival Sri Lanka by eight wickets in the final at Lord’s on Sunday.

“He is clearly one of the world’s best Twenty20 players, but also he would be a valuable addition to our dressing room, our young players would learn a lot from him.”

Probe ordered into ‘sexual exploitation’ of women cricketers

Hyderabad, June 24: The Andhra Pradesh government Tuesday ordered probe into allegations that suspended secretary of Andhra Cricket Association (ACA) V. Chamundeswarnath sexually exploited women cricketers.

State Home Minister P. Sabita Indra Reddy ordered a special officer to look into the complaints that Chamundeswarnath sought sexual favours from women cricketers for selection.

The special officer will also probe allegations of corruption against Chamundeswarnath, who was manager of Indian women’s team at Twenty 20 World Cup.

Shahrukh doesn’t want to work with Ashutosh

Cairo, June 24: Germany has more Muslims than it originally thought, with nearly half of them holding German citizenship and thus able to vote in elections, according to a government survey released Tuesday, which found Muslims were religious but tended to be less socially integrated.

Muslims make up five percent of Germany’s 80 million population, two percent more than most common estimates, according to the first survey of German Muslims.

Hrithik backs out of Amitabh’s role

Mumbai, June 24: It was reported that Hrithik Roshan would play Amitabh Bachchan’s character Vijay Dinanath Chauhan in the remake version of Agneepath by Karan Johar but reality tells a different story. Hrithik has backed out of the film, as he has no dates available.

Zardari rejects British PM’s remarks

Islamabad, June 24: The Pakistani president has rejected British Prime Minister Gordon Brown’s description of the border between Afghanistan and Pakistan as the ‘crucible for global terrorism.’

“I think sometimes people say things they don’t understand or mean but I think his concern is genuine and I appreciate the concern,” Asif Ali Zardari told ITV’s News at Ten.

He also denied any knowledge of militant training camps in Pakistan, saying it was an “old thought” among British intelligence that thousands of radicals were arriving in Britain.

About 20 raped in failed prison break in Congo

Kinshasa, June 24: Two people were killed and 12 others injured in the Democratic Republic of Congo when prison inmates who tried to escape detonated two grenades.

About 20 female prisoners were also raped during the failed prison break attempt, according to Congo’s attorney general.

The female prisoners were raped when male prisoners in the prison in Goma in eastern Congo failed to break through the prison’s walls, Oscar Kasangandjo said on Tuesday.

The prisoners attacked the pavilion where the female prisoners were being held and raped around 20 of them, he added.

Pak SC dismisses Sarabjit review petition, faces death

Islamabad, June 24: Pakistan’s Supreme Court on Wednesday dismissed a review petition filed by Indian national Sarabjit Singh and upheld the death sentence given to him for his alleged involvement in bomb attacks in 1990.

A three-member bench led by Justice Raja Fayyaz Ahmed dismissed Sarabjit’s review petition on merit and upheld the death sentence awarded to him by an anti-terrorism court in 1991. The apex court gave its verdict after his counsel failed to appear in court.
