Israelis upset by Hitler film

Jerusalem, Jun 16 :Israelis are ”shocked” by a Bollywood director’s decision to make a film on Nazi dictator Adolf Hitler that will show how the despot loved India and how he indirectly contributed to its independence.

“I am a proud Indian and assert my Indian identity everywhere I go in Israel. I tell fellow Israelis that in my birthplace there was no anti-semitism. However, I am having to bow my heads in shame at this recent ignorance shown by Bollywood, which is also very dear to us,” Noah Massil, President of Central Organisation of Indian Jews in Israel (COIJI), said.

OZ Man gets jail for incest

Melbourne, June 16 :A Victorian county court on Tuesday sentenced a 33-year-old man to seven-and-a-half years in prison for having sex with his 11-year-old daughter.

The father of four children, whose identity was not revealed, committed the offences between December 2008 and June 2009, the judge said.

The sexual abuse came to light when the man hit his four children with a belt trying to find out who had stolen three dollars from a change bowl.

Fake Sohrabuddin encounter:Cops bail rejected

Ahmedabad,June 15 :A local court on Tuesday rejected an interim bail plea of an IPS officer, arrested in connection with the fake encounter of Sohrabuddin Sheikh, agreeing with CBI’s argument that his release would hamper the probe into the case.

Abhay Chudasama had applied for interim bail last month to undergo hip replacement surgery.

Judge G.K. Upadhyay, while rejecting Chudasama’s plea, agreed with the CBI’s contention that the accused, if given bail, would hamper inquiry which was at a very crucial stage.

Pune Blast accused gets Bail

Mumbai,June 15 : The Maharashtra ATS was left red faced on Tuesday with a court granting bail to Abdul Samad, arrested in connection with an 2009 arms seizure case and alleged to be involved in the Pune blast case, saying there was no evidence against him.
23-year-old Samad, a resident of Bhatkal district in Northern Karnataka, had filed a bail application in the court of Additional Sessions Judge S L Pathan claiming that he was an accused in the 2009 arms case for which he had been arrested.

Peshawar,June 15 :Pakistan detained an American armed with a dagger, a pistol and night vision goggles for allegedly trying to sneak into Afghanistan to hunt and kill al Qaeda head Osama bin Laden, police said on Tuesday.

Californian Gary Faulkner was caught in the Brumboret Valley near the border of Afghanistan’s Nuristan province and was being questioned in Peshawar, Chitral police Chief Jaffer Khan said.

New Delhi, June 15: Light-eyed favourite of Mumbai’s party hosts, Vida Samadzai, has been deported to the United States for mysterious security reasons.The 2003 Miss Afghanistan, who was pursuing a modelling and film career in Mumbai, was deported last week when she landed at the Indira Gandhi International Airport at New Delhi in a Delta flight from the US for alleged visa irregularity.

Nityananda performed Fire pooja

Bangalore,June 15 :Nityananda was released from Bangalore’s Ramanagara Jail on Saturday after the Karnataka High Court granted bail to him. Nityananda, who was granted bail on Friday has to furnish a Rs one lakh bond, give no public discourses, surrender his passport and report to the police once in a fortnight.

On June 8, the HC had adjourned the bail application hearing of Nityananda till June 10. Nityananda was arrested in Himachal Pradesh on April 21 after television channels aired alleged video footage showing him in a compromising position with a Tamil actress.

New delhi,June 12 :With Defence Ministry averse to sparing army to fight Naxals, the Union Home Ministry will “fend for themselves” and take a fresh look at its strategy to fight Left-wing extremism including reorienting the available paramilitary forces.

This was seen as a fall out of last evening’s Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) meeting chaired by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, which failed to arrive at a consensus over deployment of army for fighting Naxals.

Bangalore, June 11 : The video footage showing arrested self-styled godman Nityananda Swami in a compromising position with a Tamil actress is “genuine”, a top CID official said today.

“The video footage is genuine. It is untampered and there is no indication of alteration in the video. As far as image comparison is concerned, that is still to be done,” CID’s deputy IGP Charan Reddy told PTI.

Asked about efforts to trace the actress, Reddy said, “She is not an accused in this case. She will definitely come. When she comes, we will examine her.”

Jammu.June 10 :The ARMY has sought the presence of three persons arrested by the police in connection with the ‘ fake’ encounter in Jammu & Kashmir’s Machil at its court of inquiry.

The army on Wednesday filed an application before the chief judicial magistrate, Sopore in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district and requested it to arrange the presence of former special police officer ( SPO) Bashir Ahmad Lone, his accomplice Abdul Hamid Bhat and territorial army jawan Shah Abbas.

Jaipur, June 02: The Rajasthan Anti Terrorism Squad ( ATS) on Friday arrested a suspect in the 2007 Ajmer Sharif bomb blast case.

The arrest of Chandrashekhar Barod, who was picked up from Shajapur in Madhya Pradesh, comes within 48 hours of another suspect, Devendra Gupta, being rounded up for his alleged role in the blast.Barod is believed to have close links with rightwing Hindu organisation Abhinav Bharat, accused in the 2006 Malegaon blasts case. He is also known to be an active member of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh ( RSS).

Srinagar,June 01 :THE J& K Police are expected to seek Major Opinder Singh’s custody for his role in the alleged murder of three youth of Nadihal in Baramulla on April 30, which was passed off as the army’s encounter with militants.The police said Maj. Singh’s alleged motive might have been the Rs 4.5 lakh reward money, the credit for gunning down militants and also a possible promotion later.

The Major made local contacts while working with the G2 unit of Military Intelligence in Baramulla before his posting to Kalaroos in Kupwara with 4 Rajput Rifles, police sources said.
