Married men find mothers-in-law more attractive, says a UK study

Wives, beware! A British survey has found that several married men felt their mothers-in-law were more attractive than their wives.

This may evoke jealousy among several women, but the poll of 1,500 men showed that more than half of married men found their moms-in-law attractive and a quarter have a genuine crush on them, IANS reported.

Eight in 10 men said they had a good relationship with their mother-in-laws, while three in 10 claimed there was a secret attraction. Eight in 10 men also admitted that they had a great relationship with their spouse’s mother.

70 years old Omani national held in Hyderabad for marrying minor girl

A 70-year-old Omani national was arrested here for undertaking a contract marriage with a minor girl, police said on Monday.

Police rescued the 17-year-old girl and also arrested the qazi who performed the marriage, a travel agent, a broker and two mediators.

Acting firmly, police have also invoked the ‘Nirbhaya’ Act besides Prohibition of Child Marriage Act against the Oamni national.

Top PDP leader Sameer Kaul quits over party’s UNHOLY alliance with BJP

Srinagar: National spokesperson of ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Sameer Kaul has resigned from the party alleging that the regional party had compromised on its stated principles.

“I feel in some respects it doesn’t match my political philosophy and Kashmiriyat and therefore I am compelled to be myself and withdraw from participation in this party with immediate effect,” Kaul, a leading oncologist, said today.

Kaul, who was with the PDP for more than three years, said, “I would request the party leadership to understand my point of view and accept my resignation forthwith.”

Danve had held talks with senior Shiv Sena leaders Ramdas Kadam and Anil Desai here yesterday on contesting civic polls.

Accordingly, the Sena would contest 64 and the BJP would contest 49 seats in Aurangabad, while in Navi Mumbai, the Sena is set to contest 68 seats and the BJP would contest 43 seats.

(ANI): Italian investigators have said that Italian cruise ship Costa Concordia, which sank in January 2012, had ‘Ndrangheta crime syndicate’s drugs hidden on it, a report said.

According to the investigators, the phone and tape recordings of ‘Ndrangheta gang members had revealed that the cruise was carrying a huge shipment of Mafia-owned cocaine when it went down, The Mirror reported.

Eleven killed in road mishap in Jhansi

Eleven people died and nine others were injured on Saturday night in a road mishap in Jhansi district in Uttar Pradesh, police said on Sunday.

Police said a number of pilgrims from Bhujaund village in Moth area were going in two tractor trollies to Ratangarh Mata temple in Madhya Pradesh. On the way, some of the pilgrims got down to offer coconuts at another temple opposite the forest department’s office while other pilgrims remained seated in the vehicles, said Madhya Pradesh Police spokesperson Nityanand Rai.
