KCR orders probe into killing of undertrials by Police

(IANS) Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao on Sunday ordered a probe by Special Investigation Team (SIT) into the killing of five undertrial prisoners by police in a gunfight.

Rao instructed Chief Secretary Rajiv Sharma to issue orders on Monday appointing the SIT.

The chief minister has taken the decision keeping in view the doubts expressed by certain organizations and some individuals on the matter, said a statement from the chief minister’s office.

Speaking on Radio 4’s Woman’s Hour, the professor claimed the decline are hard to identify, but suggested that mobile devices were getting in the way. In 1990, the figure was five times a month.

Globally, high blood pressure, or hypertension, is the leading risk factor for death associated with cardiovascular disease.

Iran may extend deadline for finalized nuclear deal to satisfy leader’s demands

Iran will reportedly extend the deadline for a finalized nuclear deal beyond June 30 if there arises a need to satisfy the lines drawn by the nation’s supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, said a senior Iranian official.

According to Fox News, Iran Deputy Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi said that Iran will work hard to reach the agreement within the specified time period of three months but if the deal does not meet the leader’s demands then the deadline would be extended.

A nun in Tibet has set herself on fire in an act of self-immolation protesting Beijing’s control over the region and crying out for the Dalai Lama to return to the country, said overseas rights groups.

According to Fox News, Yeshi Khando, 47, of Ngangang Nunnery circled Kardze Monastery in Sichuan province self-immolated herself on Wednesday near the police station while shouting slogans including “Tibet needs freedom,” said London-based Free Tibet.

28 CRORES Indians don’t have power connection: Piyush Goyal

IANS) Around 280 million people in the country do not have basic electricity connection, Minister for Power, Coal and New and Renewable Energy Piyush Goyal said on Sunday.

“Around 280 million people in India to this day do not have electricity connection at their homes. Till date, they are denied the basic thing like power,” Goyal said while addressing the graduating class of the Indian School of Business (ISB) here.

“The country’s problem is not about the amount of power generation or the ability to generate. We have surplus power in large parts of the country,” he added.

IS video shows ancient Iraqi city razed to ground

A video released by the Islamic State (IS) militants shows the Sunni radical group destroying an ancient city in Iraq using power tools, bulldozers and explosives, media reported on Sunday.

The Assyrian city of Nimrud in northern Iraq was completely demolished along with its ancient monuments, some of which had been in situ for more than 3,000 years, The Independent reported citing the video released online over the weekend.

Fake encounter killings in Telangana are an outrage against the rule of law say Indian Americans

Indian American Muslim Council (IAMC – www.iamc.com), an advocacy group dedicated to safeguarding India’s pluralist and tolerant ethos ethos has called the Telangana police killing of five detainees in a transportation van, a fake encounter and a case of “custodial killing.” The five youth with alleged links to Students’ Islamic Movement of India (SIMI), were being transported to a Hyderabad court for a hearing. Video footage of the police van given to Amnesty International by a journalist, shows five youth in the van after they were killed. All five were seen handcuffed in the video.

China not to implement two-child policy

China’s family planning authorities on Friday denied that it would completely enforce the “two-child policy” in May to allow couples to have a second child.

“This speculation is without foundation,” said National Health and Family Planning Commission spokesperson Song Shuli.

The family planning strategy should be maintained as the size of the population puts pressure on resources, the environment, as well as economic and social development, Xinhua news agency quoted the spokesperson as saying.

Cpm leaders condemn cold blooded encounter killing by Police

Hussain Farooqui Hyderabad leader CPI(M) denounces the shooting in cold blood of five undertrial prisoners by the police in Telengana. These five young prisoners were being taken to court from Warrangal jail to Hyderabad. Midway they were shot inside the police van in what seems to be a staged encounter.

These premeditated killings seem to be an act of revenge for the deaths of two police personnel in an earlier encounter with some former SIMI activists.
