Air India airhostess molested by male crew member

A woman cabin crew member of Air India was allegedly molested by one of her male counterparts during her stay at a hotel in Mumbai, police said on Monday.

Indira Gandhi International Airport police in New Delhi has registered a ‘Zero’ FIR under section 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty) of the IPC in the May 25 incident and forwarded it to the Mumbai Police for further action.

The victim in her complaint to the police alleged that she was molested by the male crew member when the two were staying at a hotel in Mumbai, police said.

20 Soldiers killed in ambush in Manipur

Heavily armed rebels in India’s restive north-east have killed at least 20 troops, police say, in one of the worst attacks in the area in years.

Another 12 soldiers were seriously wounded in the ambush on a military convoy in Manipur state, which has been plagued by insurgent violence for decades.In the biggest militant attack on the army in recent years, at least 18 soldiers were killed and another 11 injured when they were ambushed Thursday morning in the Moltuk valley of Chandel district in Manipur.

Two Delhi women gang-raped in Goa

Two Delhi-based women, who were travelling to the Anjuna beach in Goa in a taxi, were allegedly gang-raped by five men after their cab was stopped en route.

The five accused, who had been posing as policemen, have been arrested and charged with gangrape, kidnapping and robbery.

According to reports, the men – Ajaykumar Kushwaha (39), Jeevan Pawar (26), Nadeem Khan (28), Trebor Joseph (27) and Kamlesh Chaudhary (21), took the women to an apartment where they sexually assaulted them.

Meet the woman who was jailed for making ‘loud sex noises’

A woman from Birmingham was apparently sentenced to prison for breaching anti-social behaviour order by making loud sex noises.

Gemma Wale was given a two-week prison sentence after a civil court judge concluded that she had broken the order by screaming and shouting while having sex, which annoyed her neighbour, reported the Independent.

Judge Emma Kelly said that the anti-social behaviour order had barred Wale from making loud pleasure noises and from causing nuisance by playing loud music, shouting, swearing, making banging noises, stamping and slamming doors.

Maggi samples found unsafe: Delhi government

The Delhi government on Tuesday said samples of Maggi noodles were found unsafe.

Delhi government spokesperson Nagendra Sharma said the samples had been sent to lab for testing.

“Lab testing reports show Maggi samples found unsafe in national capital: Delhi govt,” Sharma tweeted.

The noodle brand, manufactured by multi-national company Nestle, is facing cases in Uttar Pradesh related to food safety standards.

Nisar, who pulls a rickshaw for a living, alleged that his family was attack ed by his son-in-law, over a dowry related dispute.

Delhi reduces sewer, water development charges

Delhi on Tuesday reduced by almost 80 percent sewer and water development charges collected by the Delhi Jal Board, an official statement said.

Sewer development charges have been reduced from Rs.494 per square metre to Rs.100 per square metre.

Water development charges have also been reduced from Rs.440 per square metre to Rs.100 per square metre.

The statement said that the new charges would be applicable to domestic and mixed land use consumers up to the plot size of 200 square metres.

Al Shabaab claims control of US drone in Somalia

Al Qaeda-affiliate Al Shabaab has said it has captured a drone which fell in the Bay region of Somalia.

The militants said on Sunday they were in possession of the drone which they claimed belonged to the US after it came down near El Bashir village, Xinhua news agency reported.

There was no comment from the Somali government or the African Union Mission in Somalia (Amisom) which has been battling the militant group alongside the Somali National Army.

Bid to crush police official under JCB in MP

A police official in Madhya Pradesh’s Rewa district suffered injuries on his legs and hands while trying to escape an attempt to crush him under an excavator (JCB) machine at an illegal mining site.

S.S. Mishra, the sub-divisional official of Sirmaur area, told IANS that the police station in-charge of Sirmaur V.P. Singh was on patrol duty with his team at night when he noticed mining work being carried out. He then called out to the JCB driver.
