The general public has to face a lot of difficulties because of the divider situated near Mahavir Hospital, opposite A C guards, as it is the main thoroughfare for all the adjacent lanes and by-lanes.

Hyderabad, March 14 (Siasat News): Unable to come to terms with financial crisis, five members of a family attempted suicide by immolating themselves at Sadashivpet of Medak district.

While Bhagyalaxmi and her two children succumbed to burns, her husband Narsing Rao and daughter Madhuvarshini are battling for life.

Gulzar Houz or Bezaar Houz?

The historic Charminar has a vivid monumental importance flanked by different arches (kamaan) and near one such kamaan i.e. Char Kamaan situated Gulzar Houz, a fountain constructed in Nizam era and added beauty to the old city road leading towards Charminar.

Unfortunately, this fountain has become a dumping ground of late. Despite government’s various promotional projects, the mammoth Charminar and Gulzar Houz are still neglected.

Recently I got an opportunity to visit a few colleges where I came to know that in Corporate Colleges, students are wooed by the managements to take Sanskrit as II language if they want to get 100 marks out of 100.

This is how our Muslim students became a prey to this leaving Urdu and Arabic behind in order to chase the marks only.

Lovers end life

Hyderabad, March 5 (Siasat News): Two minors, who feared that their love would not be accepted by their elders, ended their lives.

According to police, two youngsters from Nagarkunta village in Shabad Mandal, G Jyothi and P Srinivas, both aged 16 years, were in love since they were studying SSC.

Yesterday, the duo left their houses around 9 pm and did not return. When Srinivas parents contacted him late in the night, they were informed that both he and his lover consumed pesticide.

Look-out notice issued for fraudster

Hyderabad, March 4 (Siasat News): The crime investigation department of the state police has issued a watch out notice against one Pravind Kumar J Solanki from Gujarat.

He reportedly cheated Corporation Bank, chapel Road branch in the city by encashing Rs. 27.86 lakh fraudulently by submitting demand drafts with altered payee names and amounts.

Man promising wonder cure held

Hyderabad, March 2 (Siasat News): A man who claimed to possess spiritual powers and the ability to cure ailments was arrested by Dabeerpura police for extorting more than Rs. 56,000.

The accused Mir Lutfe Ali Hassan or the ‘Aamil’ (black magician) convinced one Ghulam Nomani that his wife, brother and sister-in-law were under the influence of evil spirits and promised to cure them within three days.

Retired inspector held for harassment

Hyderabad, March 1 (Siasat News): Amberpet police has arrested a retired police inspector for allegedly harassing his wife.

According to inspector Amberpet Mr. Govardhan, 60-year-old retired cop Ghulam Ahmed Ali’s wife who had embraced Islam a few years back, had lodged a complaint for harassment.

They are the residents of Dabeerpura. After the complaint, Ghulam Ahmed Ali was arrested and during the investigation, it was revealed that the retired inspector got married five times.

Girl student ends life

Hyderabad, February 28 (Siasat News): A degree student ended her life when her lecturer for not completing her project scolded her. According to S R Nagar police, Parineeti was the degree student.

She was assigned a project work but she could not get it completed on time. For this, her lecturer had scolded her. Out of disgust, Parineeti took the extreme step at her residence by using excess sleeping pills and died.

A suicide note was also found beside her dead body. Further investigations are on.

Girl ends life

Hyderabad, February 26 (Siasat News): Fearing that she may have performed poorly in her first year intermediate exams, a 17-year-old girl committed suicide by immolating herself at her residence in Nandanagar in Jeedimetla.

The girl, R Swetha, daughter of Mr. Srinivas Goud, was studying in a private college in Jeedimetla. Around 8.30 pm on Thursday, she locked herself in her room and then set fire to herself and died on the spot.

Jeedimetla police has registered a case and further investigations are on.

Worker electrocuted

Hyderabad, February 25 (Siasat News): A 25-year-old worker at a tiffin center electrocuted on Thursday. The deceased M Santosh, a native of Karnataka, was working at a tiffin center at Dwarka colony at Karmanghat and was staying at Raghavendra Colony.

He used to operate a grinding machine at the hotel. At around 4 am., he switched on the grinding machine.

Man dies after a fall

Hyderabad, February 23 (Siasat News): A man fell down from an under construction building at Tappa Chabutra who was identified as 45-year-old Md. Aqeel.

The under construction building is situated neat Baqri Hotel. According to the details, Md. Aqeel was electrocuted who was working as a mistry and was a resident of Talab Katta.

Sub-inspector Tappa Chabutra said that Md. Aqeel has come to the site as usual but he came in connection with the live electric wires and fell down.

Hyderabad, February 19 (Siasat News): Police nabbed a person who was luring young girls in the name of friendship and collecting money from them and later duping them.

The accused P Sudhir, 20, is a resident of Kushaiguda and pursuing a course in animation. Addicted to lavish lifestyle, Sudhir began cheating girls to meet his expenditure.

Recently, Sudhir asked a girl to come to Secunderabad and snatched her bag containing Rs. 6000 cash, mobile phone and other valuables.

Housewife injured in attack by husband

Hyderabad, February 18 (Siasat News): A housewife was severely injured after her husband attacked her with an axe at their house at Hayathnagar.

35-year-old Aruna is the wife of Shankar who used to operate a truck earlier. The couple is residents of Banda Ravirala in Hayathnagar and they have four children. According to police, Shankar sold away the truck recently even after his wife objected to it and since then the couple was on the loggerheads.

Suitcase containing cash, stolen

Hyderabad, February 14 (Siasat News): The suitcase of a passenger containing cash and gold ornaments was stolen from an RTC bus during the journey when the bus was nearing Kadla, east Godavari.

The passenger was a jeweler from Coimbatore. The jeweler has lodged a complaint that his suitcase containing Rs. 13.5 lakh in cash and 2 kilo gold ornaments.

Six convicted for fund misuse

Hyderabad, February 9 (Siasat News): The special court for CBI cases, convicted six persons including the then SARPAD project director, National Remote Sensing Agency, K J Hebbar and deputy project director P Madhusudan Rao for misappropriating lakhs of rupees.

While the former faces two-year-rigorous imprisonment beside a fine of Rs. 7000, the latter was sentenced three-year-rigorous imprisonment with fine of Rs. 2000.

Woman robbed of 40 tolas gold

Hyderabad, February 8 (Siasat News): Some unidentified persons stole approximately 40 tolas of gold from one Ms Kavyasri’s bag under the Sanathnagar police station limits here on Monday.

According to police Ms Kavya was traveling from Dilsukhnagar to Balapur and at the Kukatpally bus stop she discovered the theft.

Student assaults guard

Hyderabad, February 7 (Siasat News): An MBA student assaulted a watchman, Venkatramanna Chari, of HDFC bank ATM at Nagolichinta.

The guard did not allow the student to enter the ATM center with a toothbrush in his hand. The accused was identified as K Anil, 25, a resident of Shivajinagar in Uppuguda.

Following a complaint by Chari, the Shahlibanda police registered a case and further investigations are on.
