Headmaster ‘murders’ school teacher

Andhra Pradesh, Jun 28 : A clash between teacher and headmaster of the same school led to murder of the former in Prem Nagar area of Warangal town today.

According to police, the victim L Venkat Reddy (43) and the accused headmaster Sammireddy had liquor last night till this morning in a shop.

After drinks, Sammireddy suddenly left for his house leaving the teacher in the shop.

Enraged over the behaviour of the headmaster, the teacher went to his house, quarrelled with him and beat him with an iron rod.

Teens sell sex to purchase designer wear

Hong Kong, June 29: An increasing number of Hong Kong teenagers are selling sex to earn money for designer clothes, in a trend called “compensated dating”, a survey released on Sunday indicated.

One in 10 students questioned said they believed schoolgirls were involved in the practice and 6.6% said they knew fellow students who had done it.

87% of the 3,000 interviewees said they believed teenagers got involved in the practice to earn money to buy branded products. Police have arrested several men in recent months for allegedly working as pimps for schoolgirls as young as 13.

New Delhi, June 29: It is too early for the gay and lesbian community to celebrate the government’s talk of decriminalising homosexuality. The centre will find it very difficult to build a consensus on the issue, with religious leaders already rejecting the idea of repealing section 377of the Indian Penal Code and opposition parties asking the government to exercise caution.

DNA had reported on Saturdaythe Centre’s plan to review the section, which terms intercourse between same-sex individuals “against the order of nature”, a crime that carries a punishment of up to 10 years in prison.

BSNL launches desktop PC for Rs6,500

Ahmedabad, June 28: Believe it or not. Here is a desktop computer for just Rs1,900 and Rs6,500. The state owned telecom company, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) launched Novatium’s netPC in Gujarat on Friday. The computers are made by Chennai-based company, Novatium Solutions which will sell these computers through BSNL in Gujarat.

Both the companies believe that this PC is probably the country’s cheapest computer.

Saudi ship Al-Jawaz-e-Karam was missing & feared sunk in Okha port

Ahmedabad, June 25: A Saudi merchant ship named Al-Jawaz-e-Karam was reported missing and feared sunk about 12 nautical miles off the Okha port in the deep waters of the Arabian sea in western Gujarat Thursday morning.

“The upper layer disturbance over the Arabian sea had led to cyclonic conditions off the Okha coast (since Wednesday), in which two merchant ships, both bearing a Saudi flag – Al-Hussani and Al-Jawaaz-e-Karam – were caught in the mid-sea in the early hours (Thursday),” a senior coast guard official told.
