Bowing to the pressure of Telangana Political Joint Action Committee, the State Government on Friday gave its permission to the Telangana March.

A ten year old boy was injured when a mobile handset which he had put into his mouth exploded suddenly last night, at Shajapur tehsil’s Pagravat village near here, hospital sources said today.

TRS MLA Pocharam Srinivas Reddy on Friday expressed confidence that he was expecting a positive statement on the Telangana State formation from the Centre before the deadline of September 30 set by TRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao.
Former Minister Dr P Shankar Rao on Friday said that he would sit in for Silent Deeksha on September 30 in protest against the insult meted out to Telangana Ministers and MLAs in Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy’s Cabinet.
A bandh was observed in the predominantly Muslim Juhapura area of the city today to protest against the controversial anti-Islam film made in the USA.
“Retail shops, eateries, auto-rickshaws among others joined the bandh. Educational institutes, however, were kept out of it,” social activist Fazal Bahelim told PTI.
Local Muslim organisations had called the bandh.
There was no untoward incident, a police official said.

The police on Friday arrested Telangana United Front Leader Vimalakka as a precautionary measure before the Telangana March.
The police on Friday morning went to her residence at Domalguda and took her into custody. Apart from Vimalakka, the police also arrested a few activists who opposed the arrest of Vimalakka. Meanwhile, tension prevailed at the Domalguda for some time when the police arrested Vimalakka.

YSR Congress party Minority Cell Convenor Habbeb Abul Rehman has reiterated that Muslims are not in a position to believe N Chandrababu Naidu as his past carries the scar of being associated with fundamentalists while the community has benefited enormously with the YSR welfare schemes.
Speaking to media here on Friday, he said: “It was YSR who introduced 4 per cent reservations and Chandrababu Naidu’s association with BJP and NDA is still fresh in the memories of Muslims and his sudden turn-around to appease the community will yield no fruits as he drifted away from us.”

A delegation of TRS, BJP and JAC members on Thursday called on Governor E S L Narasimhan at Raj Bhavan appealing him to direct the government to give permission for Telangana March.
The delegation assured the Governor that the March would be held peacefully if the government permits it. TRS Floor leader Etela Rajender said that the March would be organized in a Gandhian way. He also said that the delegation made efforts to remove misconceptions on the March prevailed among a section of leaders including the DGP V Dinesh Reddy and City police commissioner Anurag Sharma.

A delegation of TRS, BJP and JAC members on Thursday called on Home Minister P Sabitha Indra Reddy and appealed to her to give permission for the upcoming Telangana March held on September 30.
According to reports, the Home Minister assured the delegation that she would take a decision on the March after meeting Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy. Talking to media persons later, Telangana Nagara Samithi president Dr Nagam Janardhan Reddy said that the March would be held peacefully if the government gives permission for the same.
