TDP seeks clarification on Sharmila’s padayatra

Telugu Desam Party Deputy Floor leader Gali Muddukrishnamma Naidu on Saturday demanded that the YSR Congress party clarify the main objective of Sharmila’s “Maro Praja Prasthanam” padayatra.

Talking to reporters at the Telugu Desam Legislature Party office here, Muddukrishnamma Naidu asked whether Sharmila’s padayatra was for the people or was it the result of fear from TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu’s “Vastunna Mee Kosam” yatra. Describing the Congress and YSRCP as two sides of the same coin, he said both the parties together were trying to form a front against Chadrababu Naidu.

TRS moving towards extremism, alleges Jagga Reddy

Government Whip T Jayaprakash Reddy alias Jagga Reddy on Saturday alleged that the Telangana Rashtra Samithi was moving towards extremism.

Speaking to media persons at Assembly’s media point, Jagga Reddy alleged that the TRS was becoming like a party of blackmailers. He said the TRS leaders don’t wait for an opportunity to exploit the situation, but they themselves create circumstances that favour them. He alleged that the TRS leaders were extorting money from the film industry on one pretext or the other.

HC to be closed for two-day Dasara Vacation from Oct 25

The Andhra Pradesh High Court will be closed for Dasara Vacation on October 25 and 26th.

The HC’s Registrar General informed that during the vacation, all the matters of urgent nature would be heard by the Judges Justice R Subhash Reddy, for all Division Bench Matters, Justice KG Shankar, for all Civil and Criminal Matters and Justice C Praveen Kumar, for all Writ petitions.

TPJAC objects to Naidu’s padayatra in Telangana

The Telangana Political Joint Action Committee on Saturday categorically stated that it would not allow Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu’s “Vastunna Mee Kosam” padayatra in the region.

Talking to reporters here, TPJAC chairman Prof M Kodandaram said that Naidu would not be allowed to undertake the padayatra unless he clarifies his stand on the Telangana issue. He even accused the TDP chief of creating confusion by writing a letter to Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh on the issue. He said Naidu’s letter, in no way, clarified the party’s stand on the statehood issue.

Minorities Welfare Minister Mohammad Ahmadullah on Saturday expressed satisfaction and happiness over the successful and smooth conduct of the Haj Camp. He said the camp proved to be a grand success as 7967pilgrims left from the Hyderabad Embarkation point in a smooth and satisfactory manner. He congratulated State Haj Committee chairman Syed Khaleeluddin Ahmed and other officials for making the camp an exemplary success.

Online fresh registrations for scholarships begins today

The online fresh registrations for scholarships to students pursuing college courses for the academic year 2012-13 will commence from Sunday.

According to Principal Secretary (Social Welfare Department) J Raymond Peter, the scholarship process has been made fully online by the Social Welfare Department. Under the online system, a student has to enter his SSC Hall Ticket Number to retrieve his record from the SSC data base.

Miscreants attack Muslim auto driver in city

An Muslim youth was attacked by unknown miscreants at Troop Bazaar this night leading to tension in city.

According to the sources around 10pm in night, 35 year old auto driver Mohammed Mubeen Ahmed a resident of Kalapather was passing through Troop Bazaar, suddenly he met with a minor accident in which a youth belonging to the other community was injured.

Later a group of miscreant attacked Mubeen in which he was sustained beelding injuries.The injured auto driver was immediately shifted to the Osmania General Hospital,where he was treated.

25 batches of AP’s Haj pilgrims reach Holy Mecca

A batches consisting of 300 Haj Pilgrims left Hyderabad for Jeddah on Friday on the sacred journey of Haj.

So far, 25 batches consisting of 7,625 pilgrims have reached Makkah-al Mukarammah, who are busy there in prayers.

Road improvement works to be completed by month-end: GHMC Commissioners

GHMC Commissioner MT Krishna Babu has assured that the road improvement works in the limits of Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation would be completed by this month end.

The GHMC Commissioner along with Chief Engineer K Suresh and other senior officials conducted inspection of road improvement works, which has been taken up on priority basis, in different areas. The night visit, which started at around 11 pm from Fever Hospital at Nallakunta culminated at around 1.30 midnight after the team inspected Indira Gandhi statue at Necklace road and areas from Basheerbagh to Liberty.

T-Advocates held for attempt to disrupt CM’s speech

Members of Telangana Advocates JAC were taken into custody by the City Police when they tried to disrupt the Rajiv Gandhi Sadbhavana Yatra Commemoration Day function at Charminar on Friday.

As soon as Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy began his speech, the advocates started shouting pro-Telangana slogans. However, while ignoring the disruption, the Chief Minister continued his speech. Meanwhile, the police swung into action and took the advocates into custody. They were shifted to a nearby police station.

Five accused in Akbar Owaisi attack case surrender before court

Following direction from the Supreme Court the five accused allegedly
involved in the MIM Chandryangutta Akbaruddin Owaisi attack case surrendered before the Nampally court this morning.

Hasan Bin Omer Yafai aka Hasan Pahelwan (Accused No2), Abdullah Bin Younus Yafai (Accused No.3), Awadh Yafai (Accused No.5), Afif yafai (Accused No.7) and Saif (Accused No.14) whose bails were cancelled by the Supreme Court on October 5 surrendered themselves before the court.

The surrendered accuseds were later shifted to Cherlapally central prison under judicial custody.

GMR withdraws cheque bounce case against Mallya

GMR Hyderabad International Airport Ltd (GHIAL) today withdrew a cheque bounce case filed against Vijay Mallya-promoted Kingfisher Airlines (KFA) in a court here after the airline agreed to pay the outstanding amount due to it.

On October 12, the court had issued non-bailable warrants against KFA, Mallya and four top executives of the airline who failed to appear before it in connection with the case related to dishonouring of cheques worth Rs 10.5 crore.

Fourth accused in Pune blast case arrested

The Special Cell of Delhi Police has arrested a fourth suspected Indian Mujahideen (IM) operative allegedly involved in the August 1 Pune blast, an official said on Wednesday. Three other accused were arrested earlier.

The accused identified as Landge Irfan Mustafa, 30, was arrested near a bus stand in Jaipur on October 10, police said.
