Vijayamma accuses State of ignoring farmers

YSR Congress party honorary president YS Vijayamma has said that people are wondering whether a Government exists at all in the state.

Addressing a mammoth public meeting at Palamaneru in Chittor district on Wednesday wherein the TDP MLA Amarnath Reddy has joined the YSR Congress, Vijayamma came down heavily on both Congress and TDP in equal proportions.

Lambasting the Government for not caring for the problems of the farmers, Smt. Vijayamma said that farmers in the state were being left high and dry with administration not coming forward to solve their problems.

GHMC disqualifies Langar Houz corporator

GHMC Commissioner and Election Authority MT Krishna Babu has informed that Langar Houz division corporator B Ravi Yadav of MIM has been disqualified.

Ravi Yadav has been disqualified following the Andhra Pradesh High Court order which upheld the orders issued by the Chief Judge cum Election Tribunal, City Civil Court, Hyderabad in OP No 638/2010 declaring Ravi Yadav’s election as void.

It may be mentioned that earlier Borabanda corporator Vanaja of Congress party was also disqualified. Therefore, the GHMC is now preparing to conduct elections in Borabanda and Langar Houz divisions.

Palamuru univsersity students rain tomatoes,stones at Sharmila

Tension prevailed when the Palamuru University students hurled tomatoes and stones at YSRCP Chief YS Jaganmohan Reddy’s sister Sharmila, when she arrived here on Tuesday, as part of her ‘Maro Praja Prastanam’ padayatra. The students also shouted slogans like ‘Sharmila Go Back’ and ‘Jai Telangana’.

Jagan to be produced in court today

YSR Congress chief Y S Jaganmohan Reddy, who was arrested in the disproportionate assets case, will be produced in the CBI court at Nampalli on Wednesday.

The special judge, who generally conducts hearing through video conference, is on leave for three days. The remand of Jagan, Nimmagadda Prasad and Mopidevi Venkata Ramana, arrested in the disproportionate case and Gali Janardana reddy, Rajagopal¸ Srinivasa reddy arrested in the OMC case and Sunil Reddy arrested in the Emaar properties case will be ending on Wednesday.

Vijay Sai Reddy appears before ED

Auditor Vijaya Sai Reddy, who is accused No. 2 in the Jagan’s disproportionate assets case on Tuesday appeared before the Enforcement Directorate here. He was grilled by the authoritie for nearly two-and-a-half hours.
Speaking to the media later, Vijaya Sai Reddy said the ED has started recording details about the investments by individuals and companies in the companies owned by Jaganmohan Reddy.

Stating that the ED was questioning him only in this connection, he said the authorities had questioned him on these details.

Advocates file complaint against Jagga’s anti-T remark

Telangana Advocates’ JAC has lodged a complaint with the police against Government Whip in the Assembly and Sangareddy MLA Toorpu Jayaprakash Reddy for stating that there was no need to create a separate Telangana State.

Several representatives of Telangana Advocates’ JAC have lodged a complaint with the Saifabad Police Station alleging that Jayaprakash Reddy made serious remarks which hurt the sentiments of the people of the Telangana region.

Nagam says he backs BJP for Telangaa

Telangana Nagara Samithi convener and Nagarkurnool MLA Dr Nagam Janardhan Reddy on Tuesday declared that he would extend his support to the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) for the sake of separate Telangana State.
Speaking to the media here, Nagam has made it clear that he would not join any political party and would strive for the sake of achieving separate State.

High court rejects Mopidevi bail plea again

Former Minister Mopidevi Venkataramana, who is languishing in the Chanchalguda Jail here for the past few months in connection with the Vanpic affair pertaining to Jagan’s illegal assets case, has to stay behind the bars for some more time, following the High Court rejecting his bail petition for the third time on Monday.

It was pointed out in the bail petition that the charge-sheet in the Vanpic affair was filed six months back and that it was over 90 days since he was arrested and hence there was justification in granting bail.

Bus conductor attacked unknown assailants

A day-light murder took place in the city at Shankar nagar, under the limits of Amberpet police station, on Monday.

According to police, the deceased was identified as Upendra chary, who was working as a conductor in the Barkatpura depot. When chary was walking on the road, he was severely attacked by unknown persons. It is reported that the conductor died on the spot, when he was beaten up with sticks.

Three held for arson at Jama Masjid in Hyderabad

Three persons were today arrested from Bollaram area for allegedly setting on fire a door belonging to Jama Masjid in order to stoke communal tension in the city, police said.

The arrested have been identified as S Madan Mohan, Sunil and Uday all residents of Bollarum. The cops are on look out for Sandeep and Bharat of Nizamabad.The incriminating material i.e. Diesel Can, Burnt Cloth, which were used by the accused in commission of this offence were seized. The remaining accused are at large and efforts are being continued to trace out them by forming special teams.

TRS will remain a secular party: Harish Rao

Telangana Rashtra Samithi MLA T Harish Rao stated in the Legislative Assembly on Sunday that his party was secular since its inception and would remain so in future too.

Responding to MIM floor leader Akbaruddin Owaisi’s suggestion to TRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao for not joining the BJP-led NDA, the TRS MLA said that the TRS has always been a secular party. He said KCR was known for his secular credentials and the TRS too has remained secular since its inception.

Botsa slams Akbar for hailing YSR and Critising congress

APCC Chief Botcha Satyanarayana has lashed out at the MIM Floor leader Akbaruddin Owaisi for praising former chief minister late Dr YSR for providing four per cent reservation for Muslims and at the same time criticizing the Congress on the allocation of the Bayyaram Bauxite mines.

ID proof must for sleeper-class passengers from today

It will be mandatory for sleeper-class train passengers to carry identity proof from Saturday.

The Railways has taken the steps to prevent misuse of tickets by touts and facilitate hassle-free travel by bonafide people.

From today (December 1), passengers failing to produce original identity proof in sleeper class, as and when asked for, will be treated as “without ticket” and charged accordingly, said a senior Railway Ministry official.

Syed Asif Ibrahim on Saturday took over as Officer on Special Duty in the Intelligence Bureau in the run up to taking over as the Director of the agency by the end of this month.59-year old Ibrahim, the first Muslim to lead the agency, will have a tenure of two-years, the order said.

An official order said Ibrahim, a 1977-batch IPS officer of Madhya Pradesh cadre, has been appointed as OSD in the Intelligence Bureau and will later take over as its Director after incumbent Nehchal Sandhu retires on December 31.

GHMC Tax Inspector collects over Rs 3.89 Cr Property Tax

GHMC Commissioner MT Krishna Babu has informed Tax Inspector of Circle No 8 K Nagabhushanam, has collected property tax of whopping Rs 3.89 crore from Andhra Pradesh Housing Board Colony.

The collected tax including 125 buildings arrears amounting to Rs 1,08,27,290 and current year tax of Rs 2,81,55,967 with total amounting to Rs 3,89,83,257. Praising Nagabhushanam for collecting a huge amount of property tax, the GHMC Commissioner expressed satisfaction for the services rendered by him. He said last year too, the Tax Inspector collected around Rs 2 crore of property tax.
