YSRCP proposes to move no-trust motion to embarass Chandrababu

YSRCP has taken a strategic decision and decided to serve notice to the Speaker Nadendla Manohar on ‘no trust’ motion on Thursday against the State Government. The aim of the party appears to be embarrass the TDP Chief N Chandrababu Naidu, who rejected the TRS party’s proposal of introduction of ‘no trust’ motion.

KCR lambasts Naidu for backing out on No-trust motion

The TRS chief K Chandrasekhara Rao has lambasted the TDP chief Chandra Babu Naidu for deciding not to support the no-confidence motion. He also lashed out at the ‘Andhra Jyothi’ newspaper for publishing a report that the no-confidence motion was lost even before it was moved. He said no one could do anything about Naidu if he feels like wiping his face clean when spat at.

Andhra MLC injured in road mishap

Andhra Pradesh MLC Shaikh Hussain and his daughter were among four persons injured in a road mishap in Kadapa district today, police said.

The accident took place on the national highway near Jillella village this afternoon when a car collided with his SUV, they said.

The TRS chief K Chandrasekhara Rao has written letters to the TDP and the YSR Congress to join with him in pulling the government down.

KCR has attended the dharna of the clothe merchants protesting against the VAT at the Indira Park on Tuesday. Speaking on the occasion, he assured the merchants that his party would fight against the VAT in the Assembly and outside. He said in the new Telangana state there would be no VAT.

BJP to support No-confidence motion

BJP has said it would support a no-confidence motion against the government whoever might move it.
BJP legislature party leader Yendala Lakshmi Narayana told the media that the Congress government had no right to continue in office any longer.

Stating that Congress was responsible for the power problem and Babli issue, he said his party would support the no-confidence motion moved by any party.

He also said his party would raise drinking water and Babli issues in the house.

Gali admitted he paid Rs.500 cr to late YSR: TDP

TDP leader Payyavula Keshav here on Tuesday claimed that former Karnataka minister and OMC scam principal accused Gali Janardhana Reddy had admitted before the CBI officers that he had paid Rs 500 crores to late chief minister Dr Y S Rajasekhara Reddy as a gift. He also alleged that the amount was utilized to meet the expenses in the last elections.

Teacher bashed for teasing lady colleague

A teacher who has been harassing a lady colleague was thrashed by the local people.
The teacher working in the government ZP school of North Rajupalem village has been harassing a lady teacher since some time. When she complained to the villagers, they thrashed him.

The inured teacher was then admitted to a hospital. They also informed the police about the misbehavior of the teacher.

Shinde rules out giving Afzal Guru’s body to his kin

Government today ruled out handing over of the body of Parliament attack convict Afzal Guru to his family in Kashmir.

Union Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde said here that “the body has been buried according the jail manual and there was no way it could be handed over”.

Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, Afzal’s family and other major political groups have demanded returning of the body of Guru who was executed on February 9.

Journalists miffed at restrictions in Home Ministry

Accredited journalists covering the Home Ministry are miffed following reported orders that they will not be allowed to linger on in its corridors in search of news.

Traditionally such journalists go to North Block that house the ministry to gather news. They hang around the offices of the Home Minister and the Home Secretary.

However, the journalists were today told by the ‘flying squad’ and CISF personnel to clear out.

Desperate TDP spreading canards about YSRCP

Rubbishing the sustained propaganda of TDP about merger, YSR Congress has said that it has no such need as it is poised to win the 2014 elections hands down and emerge as a key player in the national politics.

Inter Exams: 59 candidates booked for malpractice

As many as 59 candidates were booked for malpractice during the Intermediate Public Examinations held across the State on Monday.

A total of 91,161 or 8.11 per cent candidates out of 10,21,415 in General and 1,02,390 in Vocational abstained from the exam in subjects Mathematics –IA , Botany, Civics and Psychology paper – I.

The Board of Intermediate Education has sent Observers to Nalgonda, Medak Ranga Reddy, Hyderabad, Nizamabad Warangal and Mahaboobnagar Districts. The examination has been conducted peacefully without any untoward incident.

The Cyberabad police investigating the Dilsukhnagar bomb blast case today released the picture of the cycle that was used in causing the blast. The Commissioner of Police Cyberabad Ch.D.Tirumal Rao said that the bicycles used in the bomb blasts were assembled.

He said that an appeal is being made to the public, especially second hand bicycle vendors and rental agents to pass on information to help police in detection of the recent Dilsukhnagar bomb blast case.

Father-son duo held with 2.5 kg charas

A father-son duo was today arrested with 2.5 kg cannabis from Padyarana area of Kishtwar district, police said.

Qasim Din Gujjar (38) and his son Sher Mohammad (19), both residents of Padyarna Kishtwar, were arrested and 2.5 kg of the drug was recovered from them, police said.

Union Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar today said women should fight back if they are being harassed.

“If a woman suffers eve-teasing, she should retaliate,” Pawar said, addressing a conference of the women’s wing of NCP.

TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu today claimed that social justice was the criterion for selection of candidates for the MLC elections.

Speaking to the media, Naidu said social justice, hard work and commitment to the party were looked into, while selecting the candidates. He said Yanamala Ramakrishnudu, Salim and Samantakamani were selected for the three MLC seats the party would be able to win.

PCC Chief Botcha Satyanarayana has said his party would prove its strength on the floor of the House if any party chooses to move a no-confidence motion against the government, in the ensuing Assembly session.

Talking to the media here on Sunday, Botcha said the ruling party would show its numerical strength in the House itself and would not join the issue with the Opposition outside. He said the party was ready to face a no-confidence motion, whoever might try to move it. He claimed that the government had a comfortable majority in the House.

Gehlot announces laptops for journalists

Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot today announced laptops for accredited journalists and increased the amount of mediclaim policy for them from Rs two lakh to Rs five lakh.

In his budget speech, Gehlot also proposed to reduced the age limit from 62 to 60 years for monthly assistance amount of Rs 5,000 for eligible accredited journalists.

Gehlot also announced Rs five crore each for Journalist- Litterateur fund and artists fund.
