Ajaz Khan re-enters ‘Bigg Boss’ as first challenger

Reality TV star Ajaz Khan will be entering the current season of ‘Bigg Boss’ tonight as the first challenger of its new series ‘Bigg Boss Halla Bol’.

Ajaz, who is currently filming his upcoming movie ‘Love Day’, took a break from shooting to be a part of the celebrity reality show.

“I was shooting for the film when I got a call from the channel to participate on the show”.

Pregnant women among positive tested H1N1

Giving more jitter to the city, Gandhi hospital witnessed one more swine flow case.

Yet in another case a 25 year old, nine months pregnant women who is shifted to Gandhi hospital yesterday, residence of ECIL, tested positive for swine flu virus.

From a 17 months old infant to a 53 old man are battling for life at Gandhi hospital. The patients are kept under the vigilance of doctors and are being treated at the swine flow isolation ward.

According to doctors, the 53 old man is on ventilator. Condition of boy from Secundrabad is stable, said doctors.

Kazakhstan and India can do business with expanding China: Envoy

Kazakhstan’s Ambassador to India, Bulat Sarsenbayev, believes that neither his country nor India should be overly concerned about the expansionist designs of China, but rather both should seek to maximize bilateral and economic contact with Beijing for the overall benefit of the peoples of the three nations.

An AirAsia plane with 162 people on board went missing, while on its way from Indonesia to Singapore this morning shortly after the pilots requested a change of flight, because of weather.

UN urges Pak govt to halt executions, restore death penalty moratorium

United Nations chief Ban Ki-moon is urging the Pakistani government to end executions of terrorists and restore the moratorium on the death penalty that was lifted following the Peshawar school massacre.

According to Dawn News, Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said that all legal norms would be respected.

Ban spoke to Sharif on Thursday to express condolences after the Taliban school massacre that killed 141 people.

Sharif ended the six-year moratorium on the death penalty in the wake of the deadliest attack in the history of Pakistan.

Three kids burnt alive as fire caught thier hut

Three minor children of a tribal family, including a girl, were burnt alive and one was seriously injured in Mizoram as their hut went up in flames, police said Friday.

“Three children, aged between six and three years, were burnt to death after their bamboo hut gutted early Thursday at Vairengte village along the Mizoram-Assam border,” a Mizoram police official said.

He said the victims’ parents were away when the tragedy struck. A nine-year-old brother of the children suffered over 70 percent burns and is admitted to a government hospital in critical condition.

Godse temple issue: Case lodged against Hindu Mahasabha leader

A case has been registered against a leader of Akhil Bharatiya Hindu Mahasabha for allegedly making objectionable remarks and announcing that a “temple” dedicated to Mahatma Gandhi’s assassin Nathuram Godse will be constructed here, police said on Friday.

The case has been registered against national general secretary of Akhil Bharatiya Hindu Mahasabha Acharya Madan under IPC Section 504 (insulting another person with intention to provoke breach of peace) and Section 505 (1) (making, publishing or circulating rumours) at the Brahampuri police station, SP (City) Om Prakash said.

Hughes’ bat to be placed at Mount Everest in honour of late batsman

It has been reportedly revealed that a bat, which once belonged to late Australian cricketer Phillip Hughes, would be placed on Mount Everest in a tribute to the batsman.

Cricket Australia chairman Wally Edwards said that the Cricket Association of Nepal had come forward with the Everest idea, Sport24 reported.

He reportedly also said that there were plans for a 63-over game to be played in Nepal in a tribute to Hughes who was 63 not out when he endured the fatal injury, the report added.

Piercing cold wave kills two in Haryana

Two people died in Haryana due to piercing cold wave and thick fog that has severely disrupted normal life across North India.

Nearly 100 trains have either been canceled or delayed in due to low visibility caused by dense fog. Road traffic is also severely affected in the region.

cyberabad police formed ‘SHE team’ to curb eveteasing

As part of safety to women and particularly to women employees in the IT corridor here, Cyberabad Police today launched 60 ‘SHE Teams’ to control eveteasing and stalking of women.

The SHE Teams will spread themselves out in the 200 hotspots identified in Cyberabad area. They will watch out for eve teasers/stalkers at bus stops, colleges among other places, Cyberabad Police Commissioner C V Anand told reporters.

Each team will comprise of SI/ASI rank officers and women constables who will be provided with spy cams to film the acts against women as evidence, he said.

West Bengal Governor K N Tripathi has demanded declaring Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose’s birthday on January 23 as a national holiday, saying proper “justice” had not been done to the great leader post-Independence.

Cold wave conditions continue in Telangana
