Missing old city girl found in Malakpet, handed over to parents

City police finally found the 16-year-old Inter first year girl from Moghulpura who went missing a few weeks ago near Malakpet on Monday morning.

According to police the girl was allegedly abducted by a teenager whom she met at her exam centre two months ago. Police traced the two teenagers at Malakpet and handed over the girl to her parents.

Engg graduate from Hyd who joined ISIS dies in Syria

An engineering graduate from Hyderabad, who joined the terror group ISIS, has died “while fighting in Syria,” Intelligence sources on Tuesday said quoting his family members.

Mohd Haneef Waseem, 27, had reportedly joined the ISIS in Syria in February this year, they said.

The Telangana Police are in the process of gathering more information about Haneef’s alleged links with Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS). They are also trying to find out how he could have gone to Syria.

Minor girl found pregnant, parents allege rape by 2 boys

A 12-year-old girl has been found to be more than seven months pregnant, with her parents alleging that she was sexually abused by two minor boys, police said.

The boys aged 13 and 14 respectively have been detained and they will be produced before Juvenile Justice Board here, police said.

The incident came to light today when the victim, who belongs to village Chandakedi of Tehsil Bilaspur, complained of a severe stomachache and her family took her for a medical check up where she was found to be over seven months pregnant.

PAN mandatory for central excise registration

Permanent Account Number (PAN) has been made mandatory for private firms seeking central excise registration.

The registration will now be given within two days of filing online applications, as per the new simplified rules formed by the Finance Ministry “to improve the ease in doing business in manufacturing”.

Applicants seeking registration shall mandatorily quote PAN of the proprietor or the legal entity being registered in the application form, a Finance Ministry order said.

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Monday dismissed as “baseless” allegations that party leader Kumar Vishwas was having an affair with a party volunteer.

The complainant has reportedly approached the Delhi Commission for Women against Kumar Vishwas.

The AAP, which rules Delhi, contested the charges.

“The issue has been played up as if Kumar Vishwas has illicit relations with the woman. The woman herself has named four people for maligning her image on social media,” AAP leader Sanjay Singh told the media.

“Spare our families… They get hurt by such baseless reports,” he said.

Trinamool Congress LokSabha MP Basirhat Idris Ali has called Taslima Nasreen a banished Bangladeshi author as a ‘loose character woman’.

Nasreen fled Bangladesh in 1994 and has since lived in exile in the West as well as in India.
“TaslimaNasreen is a loose charactered woman who plays the communal card said Ali. People who support her, eventually end up spreading communal tension,” he added.

ATMs to become new Post Office

In a bit to save time and to avoid cumbersome processes the Andhra Pradesh Circle of India Post, is planning to launch a new initiative of sending letters and parcels through ‘Speed Post’ via ATMs (automated teller machines).

The postal department has tied-up with SBI for post office savings bank (POSB) ATM and launched it in Vijayawada recently. At present, SBI has allotted 95 ATMs in the state to avail the facility.

41 Indians among 57 foreigners killed in Nepal earthquake

At least 41 Indians were killed in Nepal in the powerful earthquake that left a trail of devastation and suffering.
The number of Indian nationals killed in the quake has reached 41, according to a statement issued by Nepal Police.
A total of 57 foreigners have been killed in the quake.

Finance Minister Ram Sharan Mahat has said that the death toll is expected to climb “much higher”.
Meanwhile, an Indian Air Force team has rescued 22 Buddhist monks from a remote village of Gorkha district, the epicenter of the devastating earthquake on April 25.

State oldest Museum to be renamed after Hyderabad

Y S Rajasekhara Reddy State Museum, the oldest museum in Telangana is set to be renamed for the third time, is likely to have a new name after Hyderabad soon.

Mir Osman Ail Khan named this museum as Hyderabad Museum when it was established in 1930s. Then in 1950, it was renamed as ‘Andhra Pradesh State Museum, then after the death of Y S Rajasekhara Reddy in 2009, Congress government renamed it after former chief minister as Y S Rajasekhara Reddy State Museum.

India-origin billionaires to build 1,200 houses in Nepal

Two Indian-origin billionaires in the UK have offered to build 1,200 quake-resistant houses in the affected villages of the country.

Mukesh Kumar Sehgal, managing director of UK-based SISMO Company offered 1,000 quake-resistant houses, while, Shree Prakash Lohia, founder and chairman of Indorama Corporation offered to build 200 houses through his Lohia Foundation.

Sehgal met Nepal’s Acting Ambassador to Britain, Tej Bahadur Chettri, on Friday and offered to build 1,000 quake-resistant houses in Nepal, Ekantipur reported.

PM Modi has dangerous intentions: Azam Khan

Uttar Pradesh Minister Azam Khan on Sunday targeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi, alleging that “he carries in his kitty very dangerous intentions” and said there is need to be vigilant.

High School Boys Rape Six-year-old in Bengaluru

A 6-year-old girl was allegedly raped by two high school boys at Bannerghatta near here, police said today.

The incident took place yesterday when she was playing with her brother and the boys, they said.

The boys took the girl to an isolated place nearby and raped her. Her brother who arrived at the scene searching for her soon rushed home and informed his grandparents about the incident, police said.

The girl was immediately taken to a doctor for medical examination by the police who visited her soon after getting to know about the incident.

Republic of Congo bans full face-veils in an attempt to prevent violent extremism

The president of the Republic of Congo’s Islamic High Council has announced that full face-veils will be banned to prevent violent extremism in the country.

According to the Independent, Muslims are a minority in the Republic of Congo, in central Africa, bordered by Gabon, the Central African Republic, the Democratic Republic of the Congo and the Angolan enclave of Cabinda.

Fresh tremors hit Nepal on Sunday

A week after a magnitude 7.9 earthquake jolted Nepal, three tremors were recorded on Sunday in different parts of the Himalayan nation.

According to the National Seismological Centre, a quake measuring 4.5 on the Richter scale with its epicentre in Sindhupalchowk district was recorded at 3.29 a.m. It was followed by two aftershocks of four magnitude each in Dhading and Gorkha districts.

As a magnitude four aftershock, with its epicentre in Dhadig district, was recorded at 4.25 a.m another tremor, having its epicentre in Gorkha district, was observed at 5.57 a.m., authorities said.

Ten bogies of Ernakulam-Duronto Express derail in Goa

Ten bogies of the Lokamanya Tilak Terminus-Ernakulum Duronto Express derailed near Balli railway station in South Goa today, but no casualties have been reported so far.

“Ten coaches of the train derailed at 6.30 am near Balli station. No passengers were injured,” Konkan Railway Corporation Limited spokesman Baban Ghatge said.

The train had left Lokmanya Tilak Terminal in Mumbai and was heading towards Ernakulum.

Ghatge said that trains on Konkan Railway routes will be delayed due to the derailment, while work is on to salvage the bogies which went off the track.

Doctor along with wife goes missing in Bihar

A doctor and his wife are suspected to have been abducted in Bihar’s Gaya district, police said on Saturday.

Dr Pankaj Gupta was returning home with his wife from a relative’s marriage in Giridih in Jharkhand, when the couple went missing as they entered Gaya district yesterday, City Superintendent of Police Rakesh Kumar said.

According to the complaint lodged by his brother, the doctor responded to a telephone call from his compounder in the afternoon and told that he was near Barhi under Barachatti police station area of Gaya.
