A Mumbai builder has allegedly refused to sell a flat to a Mumbaikar on grounds that he was a Marathi, sparking a protest on Friday.

The unpalatable experience was narrated by a resident of suburban Goregaon, Vaibhav S. Rahate who attempted to a buy a flat from Shrinathji Builders in Malad recently.

Shocked by the refusal, Rahate went to lodge a complaint with the Malad police station. But the police, he said, refused to entertain his grievance.

Ahead of Home Minister Rajnath Singh’s visit to Chhaittisgarh today, security forces have recovered two powerful tiffin bombs from Naxal-hit Sukma district’s Dornapal region.

“The explosives, planted by Naxals, were recovered by a joint team of security personnel near Misma village on Sukma-Dornapal route under Dornapal Police Station limits yesterday,” Sukma Sub-Divisional Officer of Police, Prafulla Kispotta, said.

A train coach attendant was on Thursday arrested in New Delhi for allegedly molesting a 32-year-old woman passenger on board the premier Rajdhani train.

According to police, one of the workers, who went to her room for cleaning, saw her taking bath and started filming her on his mobile.

She caught him red handed and lodged a complained with the manager of the hotel but they did not take any action against the culprit and compels her to lodge a police complain.

“About 15 to 20 complaints filed daily about cloning frauds, informing that money was deducted from bank accounts after someone carried out transactions using cloned cards,” Mohammed Riyazuddin, a cyber crimes inspector, said.
