Mumbai,May 27: Bollywood’s real life couple Katrina and Salman have been together since 2003 but haven’t tied the knot yet. And it seems that the couple is not thinking of walking down the aisle in the near future as well.

Katrina who is currently riding high on a popularity wave with promising projects like Ajab Prem Ki Ghajab Kahani, De Dana Dan and Rajniti is more keen to concentrate on her career. Salman on the other hand has already made a mark in the industry.

Kayabuki restaurant in remote countryside of Japan is flocked with guests from all over Japan who come to see its “monkey” staff.

The most popular monkey is six-year-old Fuku-chan who greets guests and brings them hot towels at the end of their meal.

“He has these airs and graces that make him look just like a French waiter at a posh restaurant,” the Sun quoted a diner as saying.

YSR announces portfolios, Sabita first woman Home Minister

Hyderabad, May 27: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy’s adopted sister P Sabita Indra Reddy was elevated and made the new Home minister, the first woman in the state to hold the crucial porfolio once held by her late husband.

Sabita(46), a Mines and Geology minister in the previous Rajasekhara Reddy ministry, follows in the footsteps of her late husband Indra Reddy who was the Home Minister in the N T Rama Rao Cabinet in 1994-95. Like in the past, the chief minister will have the sensitive law and order subject.

Gunman attacks Saudi bus carrying foreigners

Riyadh, May 27: A gunman in a speeding car opened fire on a bus carrying five foreigners in eastern Saudi Arabia, but no one was injured in the incident, the interior ministry said.

The bus was traveling in the Gulf coast petrochemical hub of Jubail when it was fired on from an overtaking car, said ministry spokesman General Mansur Al Turki.

The shots shattered the rear window in the bus but neither the Pakistani driver nor the passengers – three Britons, one Saudi, and one Syrian were injured, he said. The five men all work for the same company, which was not identified.

Baghdad, May 27: The consumption of alcohol in on the upswing in Iraq, particularly among its younger generations from different social classes and genders. “I and my friends are used to leave college and get some snacks with bear in a local restaurant at Mansour district,” Khalid, a business school student in Baghdad, told.

“There is nothing to do in this country and we have to find nice ways to have fun with our friends. The alcohol is just a detail and can help us get some relaxation from the tough life.”

France Muslim school condemned to death

Paris, May 27: France’s oldest and most successful Muslim school is on the verge of collapse over financial problems, with many pointing the fingers at the government for denying it the same grants given to all faith schools.

“We are collapsing under the weight of our debts,” Yvonne Fazilleau, the headteacher of Réussite (Ibn Rushd) school, told.

The school has debts to the tune of €300,000 and is on the brink of bankruptcy.

“Last week our accountant said to me: ‘We are penniless’.”

Fazilleau says the school managed to stay afloat last year through charity.

A cartoon YouTube video set to a Hannah Montana song made waves over the weekend for its whimsical depiction of numerous ways to murder a sixth grade schoolgirl.

The video was made by girls at a Spanaway, Washington school who apparently had a falling out with a classmate, Piper. The clip carries illustrations of Piper being shot, made to commit suicide, thrown off a cliff and poisoned.

“I was horrified,” Beth Smith, Piper’s mother, told KING5.

72-yr-old held for raping maid

New Delhi, May 26: A 72-year-old wholesale fruit dealer has been arrested for allegedly raping his 20-year-old domestic help. Police said Thakur Das raped his maid of six years on May 14 at his Punjabi Bagh house in West Delhi.

“She was found in a semi-conscious state near Das’s house on May 14. She could not identify herself initially.

She was taken to a hospital where doctors confirmed that she was raped. A case was registered against unknown persons on the same day,” said a senior police official, not authorised to speak to media.

CBSE class X results to be announced today

New Delhi, May 26: The Central Board of Secondary Examination (CBSE) will declare the results of Class X for Ajmer, Chennai and Panchkula regions on Tuesday.

However, the results of other regions and Delhi will be announced by the end of this month.

The results will be put up on the website www.cbse.nic.in and www.cbse.results.nic.in .

The schools can also get results by giving their school code and email-id by registering themselves. Students can get their results on their e-mail address by registering themselves on the web sites: www.results.nic.in.

YSR inducts 20 new faces in AP cabinet

Hyderabad, May 26: Andhra Pradesh CM Y S Rajasekhara Reddy has constituted his council of ministers by inducting 20 new faces in the 35 member-strong team while dropping four senior members of his previous cabinet.

Andhra Pradesh Governor Narayan Dutt Tiwari administered the oath of office and secrecy to the ministers at a grand function at the Raj Bhavan at Hyderabad on Monday.

12 year-old brutally thrashed by cops for theft

Faridabad, May 26: A 12-year-old boy was brutally beaten by police on charges of stealing the earphones of an iPod. The injured boy was admitted in BK Hospital.

Inspector General of Police Faridabad Zone suspended two policemen with immediate effect in this connection. 12-year-old Manoj had accompanied his mother Meera (who goes by one name) to the Sector 8 house Bhagat Singh Nain where she worked as a domestic help.

2 AP boys among top 10 IIT rankers

Caught speaking Malayalam, Apollo nurses asked to resign

West Bengal, May 26: Indraprastha Apollo Hospitals asked two nurses to submit their resignations for speaking in their “native tongue” inside the hospital premises.

The nurses, Jincy Joseph and Lijy Menon (names changed to protect identity) were posted in ICU of the Cardio Thoracic Vascular Surgery (CTVS) department. The two said they will take their case to the National Human Rights Commission on Tuesday, challenging the hospital’s decision.

YSR to meet Sonia today

Hyderabad, May 26: Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy will meet Congress chief Sonia Gandhi on Monday to get her approval for his list of ministers. Though he was to meet her on Sunday, he could not as she was busy with other affairs of the party. Sources said the Chief Minister secured an appointment with her at 11 a.m tomorrow. As soon as he gets her approval, Reddy will return to Hyderabad by a special flight and the swearing-in ceremony of the ministers would be held at the Raj Bhavan at 6.10 p.m.

Iran’s Ahmadinejad wants to debate Obama at UN

Tehran, May 26: Mahmoud Ahmadinejad proposed on Monday a face-to-face debate with President Barack Obama at the United Nations if he is re-elected next month as Iran’s president.

But he balanced the offer with a sharp rebuke to Washington and its allies over Iran’s nuclear program. He reiterated that Iran would never abandon its advances in uranium enrichment in exchange for offers of easing sanctions or other economic incentives.

The nuclear issue “is closed,” he told a news conference.

Muslim nations link better ties with Israel to peace

Damascus, May 26: Amid reports of an American plan offering Israel ties with Arab and Muslim countries in exchange for talks on all peace tracks, the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) stressed, that relations with Israel would come after solving the Arab-Israeli conflict.

“(Any normalization) will come after the end of the Arab-Israeli conflict,” OIC Secretary General Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu told a press conference following a three-day meeting of the OIC foreign ministers.

India, Pakistan on the side of Sri Lanka in rights battle with West

New Delhi, May 25 : India and Pakistan find themselves on the same side with Sri Lanka as Europe accuses Colombo of ‘war crimes’ against the Tamils.

A special session of the UN Human Rights Council is due Tuesday in Geneva where Denmark and Britain are leading a vocal and sustained drive to pin down Sri Lanka. The deliberations could extend to Wednesday. The meeting became possible after Denmark got together 17 of the UN body’s 47 member countries to press for the special session to probe charges that Colombo violated human rights and committed “war crimes”.

GM borrows $4 bln more, prepares for bankruptcy

New York, May 25: General Motors Corp on Friday borrowed another $4 billion from the U.S. Treasury and won a cost-cutting deal from Canadian auto workers as a showdown with bondholders set the stage for a bankruptcy filing by the end of the month.

The latest emergency funds extended by the Obama administration take the total government funding to keep GM afloat since the start of the year to $19.4 billion.

Sena warns Cong leader against insulting Thackeray

Mumbai, May 25: Irked over Mumbai Congress leader and former state minister Kripashankar Singh’s criticism of Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray, the Sena has warned that it would “paint the map of Maharashtra beneath Singh’s ears”.

“If Kripashankar continues to insult the Sena chief, we will paint the map of Maharashtra beneath his ears,” Sena spokesperson Sanjay Raut said after Singh yesterday attributed Thackeray’s outburst against him to ‘frustration over loss of all six Lok Sabha seats in Mumbai’.

Mufti blames curricula for deviancy

Riyadh, May 25: Shaikh Abdul Aziz Bin Abdullah Al Shaikh, Grand Mufti of Saudi Arabia, has described the curricula in the Muslim world as the main reason for the spread of deviant thoughts and called for immediate action from relevant authorities to correct the “unacceptable situation”.

“Shortcomings in some of the curricula in the Islamic world lead to the promotion of intellectual deviations in the mind of the public, which requires an immediate intervention to find out crucial solutions and correct the confusions caused by these shortcomings,” he said.
