BSP members create ruckus in Rajya Sabha on reservation issue

Bahujan Samaj Party members led by party supremo Mayawati today created ruckus in the Rajya Sabha on the issue of amendment bill for reservation and promotion for SC/STs in government jobs forcing Chairman Hamid Ansari to adjourn the proceedings till 1200 hrs.

Soon after the House began its sitting, Ms Mayawati demanded suspension of the Question Hour and sought to raise
the issue alleging that the government had assured to convene an all-party meeting but had done nothing even after
three months.

Assam violence leads to stormy scenes in Lok Sabha

The issue of Assam violence created turmoil in the Lok Sabha on the first day of the monsoon session on Wednesday with several opposition members storming the Well.

Despite Speaker Meira Kumar admitting an adjournment motion by BJP on the issue, members including those of BJP, Shiv Sena, Bodoland People’s Front (BPF) and All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) trooped into the Well condemning the violence.

The opposition members were demanding an immediate discussion on the issue suspending the Question Hour.

FBI launches investigation into Gurudwara shooting

The FBI today promised a thorough probe into the deadliest attack against the Sikh community in the US at a Gurudwara in Wisconsin in which seven people, including the lone gunman were killed as authorities described the shooting spree as an act of “domestic terrorism”. The Federal Bureau of Investigation launched an in-depth investigation into the shooting incident that unfolded at around 10:30 pm IST yesterday as members of the Sikh community were gathering at the Gurudwara in Milwaukee’s Oak Creek suburb.

Education Bill will be presented [n parliament to eradicate irregularities in educational institutions

(Siasat News)Center will present Education Bill in the monsoon session of Parliament in order to eradicate irregularities in educational institutions. Under this act, Central Govt. will get powers to impose heavy fines on erring educational institutions.

Ministry of Human Resource Development has identified 25 irregularities against which fines would be imposed and disciplinary action would be taken. A fine upto Rs. 25 lakh could also imposed if found guilty. Imprisonment upto 10 years could also be given.

Engineering College Fee expected to be in the range of Rs. 1 lakh to 1.5 lakh

(Siasat News)Engineering studies, which even a student, whose parental income is below 1 lakh can pursue, now will cost more than Rs. 4 lakhs.

Till the 2011 academic year government followed reimbursement scheme for the entire studies of the student whose parental income is below one lakh per annum, but from this academic year student will be given scholarship of Rs. 35,000 rest of the burden need to be born by the student.

The nine-member committee formed by the chief minister is going to submit its report on the new fee structure.

Bai Reddy begins fast for separate Rayalaseema

Panel to suggest fee reimbursement and scholarship to students on “merit-based system“ Replacing “saturation basis“

Committee will study the SC order and suggest how to minimize the financial burden and provide affordable education with high standards.
