Engineering College Fee expected to be in the range of Rs. 1 lakh to 1.5 lakh

(Siasat News)Engineering studies, which even a student, whose parental income is below 1 lakh can pursue, now will cost more than Rs. 4 lakhs.

Till the 2011 academic year government followed reimbursement scheme for the entire studies of the student whose parental income is below one lakh per annum, but from this academic year student will be given scholarship of Rs. 35,000 rest of the burden need to be born by the student.

The nine-member committee formed by the chief minister is going to submit its report on the new fee structure.

However Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy will take final decision, government previously stated that they are going to give scholarship of Rs. 35,000 rest need to born by the student.

It is also expected that the fee will not be uniform in the engineering college, as it was till now, category A colleges fee will varies from Rs. 1 lakh to 1.5 lakh.

With the effect of new fee structure, getting good rank in EAMCET is not sufficient to get admission in top engineering college, they should be financially strong to find a berth into top colleges, till now student after getting rank thinks of getting in top colleges but now they need to take decision keeping in view of their financial status.

The new fee structure will discourage meritorious student, who may not be able to get into top colleges due to high fee. With the new fee structure even the Education standard may get affected.

According to SC orders, there should be common fee for both management and convener quota, but this will again disappoint the student who work hard to get rank, what will be the difference between the student, who got good rank and the one who disqualified, both will get admission in the top college on the same fee.

It is also expected that student may lose one academic year as till now government is unable to make final decision and it has formed a new committee, which will take its own time to submit its report and again Chief Minister will take time to make his final decision, even after making his final decision it is not sure that college management will agree on it as they have a SC support, they may again approach SC.
