Union Budget Disappointing: SDPI

Bhopal, February 27 (Pervez Bari): The Social Democratic Party of India, (SDPI), has demanded that the UPA Government should have a re-look at hiking of fuel prices, following the presentation of Union Budget, to save “Aam Aadmi” (common man) from further blues of shooting prices of essential goods.

A. Sayeed, General Secretary SDPI, in a Press release said that SDPI is totally disappointed with the Union Budget presented by Union Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee in Parliament as increase in fuel prices will further fuel upward the prices of essential commodities.

Eid Milad celebrations at peak

The game, which released in the US yesterday and Europe today, contains a sex scene and has already been banned in the UAE. It has an 18+PEGI rating from the European rating standards.

Religious guru held for sex racket

New delhi,February 27 :A self style guru from Chitrakoot in Uttar Pradesh, has taken the debate over sex and spiritualism to a new plane.

Shiv Murat Dwivedi or Ichchadhar Sant Swami Bhimanand Ji Maharaj Chitrakoot Wale as he is known among his followers, was a spiritual teacher by day and a pimp by night.

He amassed a fortune by peddling sex and spiritualism till his luck ran out recently.

Gaddafi call for”JIHAD” against Switzerland

Ghaziabad,February 26 :Four others have also been arrested in the case. The five were held from a house in Loni’s Ram Park area. The girl, who is from Guwahati in Assam, has been rescued.According to SP ( City) A. K. Vijeta, Raju Thakur, the main accused, was striking a deal with two persons — Babu and Alam — to sell off his sister.

CHINA warns US to ‘ACT CAUTIOUSLY’

Now pay Rs.28K to cut a tree

New Delhi, February 25: THE Delhi government has decided to increase the security deposit for cutting a tree from Rs 1,000 to Rs 28,000.

The state cabinet approved the changes on Wednesday.

Chief minister Sheila Dikshit said she hoped it would discourage people from cutting trees unnecessarily.

As of now, people who want to cut a tree are required to take permission and then deposit Rs 1,000 per tree as security money, which is refunded after they plant 10 trees for each one they cut.

He chose army over MNC job

Ghaziabad, February 25: AT 23, Devinder Singh Jass had the world at his feet. Armed with an engineering degree and three months away from his MBA, Jass had already landed a job in one of the world’s top accounting firms, Deloitte.

But fate, as they call it, had other ideas.

Ever since childhood, Jass had wanted to join the army. Having completed his schooling from Guru Har Kishan Public School near India Gate, he enrolled for a degree in computer engineering at IIIT, Allahabad.

Saudi Women: Divorce settlement first than dowry

Riyadh, February 24: In what is largely considered a sign of increasing awareness among Saudi women, brides-to-be have started to focus more on divorce settlement than on dowry details in order to secure their financial rights in case of separation, local media reported Wednesday.

This trend has also proved beneficial to the girls’ suitors. Young men starting their lives are happy to put less money in a dowry as this lightens their conjugal financial burden, the Saudi newspaper al-Riyadh reported.

Shaikh Abdul-Rahman al-Barrak said in a fatwa the mixing of genders at the workplace or in education “as advocated by modernisers” is prohibited because it allows “sight of what is forbidden, and forbidden talk between men and women.”

Raj Babbar charged for stoning cops in 2000

New Delhi, February 22: A DELHI court has framed criminal charges against actor and Congress MP Raj Babbar for pelting stones at policemen during a protest march of his former party, the SP, in Delhi in 2000.

“… you along with co- accused on May 9, 2000… in furtherance of your common intention formed an unlawful assembly and restrained complainant SI Mahender Singh and other policemen from performing their duties by throwing stones,” the court said.

LOVE suicides more than POVERTY

New Delhi, February 22: It has come to light that the number of people who commit suicide over failed love affairs is larger than those who kill themselves due to the other two reasons.

At least 10 people in India end their lives daily after being let down by their lovers, where as poverty and unemployment — considered big drivers of suicides in the West — forces eight and six Indians, respectively, to commit the crime, data released by the National Crimes Records Bureau ( NCRB) for 2008 said.

A total of 3,774 people committed suicide in 2008 over matters of the heart.
