LUNGI ban for OBSCENITY in Sharjah

Sharjah, April 08: The humble lungi, the traditional drape of millions of Indians, has attracted the wrath of authorities in Sharjah.

The police are reportedly cracking down on men wearing the dress in public places.

Local reports said an Asian man was arrested and interrogated by a police patrol in Sharjah a few days ago for wearing a lungi in public. He was told not to wear the dress in public again.

Sexy priest face probe in US

Minnesota, April 07: THE noose is tightening around Rev. J.P. Jeyapaul, a priest who is evading the long arm of the law for his sexcapades in the US. The priest is accused of sexually abusing a 14- year- old girl during his ministry in Minnesota in 2004.

Jeyapaul is currently at his home diocese in Ooty, where he functions from the Bishop’s house and looks after churchrun schools.

He was asked by the Archbishop of Madras on Tuesday to return to the US for investigations.

A group of clerical abuse victims has also called for his suspension and return.

DU student gang-raped by five men

Gurgaon, April 07: A 20- YEAR- OLD girl was raped by five men in Gurgaon, after she was abducted near her home in Delhi’s Bijwasan area as she waited for an auto- rickshaw.

The incident took place early on Sunday. Mona ( name changed), a correspondence student of Delhi University ( DU), was waiting for an auto around 8 am when two men — identified as Sonu and Rishi — passed her in a Maruti car.

Scientist harnesses urine to save water

New Delhi, April 06: First it was gobar gas ( biogas generated from cow dung) that revolutionised renewable energy in rural India. Now it is the turn to harness urine.

The pee, that raises quite a stink, is going to undergo a sea change thanks to the efforts of a scientist from the Delhi Indian Institute of Technology ( IIT).

Scientists believe that urine smells when it gets oxidised.

The idea is to trap the urine and, with it, the smell.

Shoaib submits his Passport & Phone to Police

Hyderabad, April 05: Hyderabad police today reached Sania Mirza residence and asked Shoaib Malik to surrender his passport and cell phone.

Police also threaten Shoaib Malik to arrest, if he further denied his link up with Ayesha.

Earlier Hyderabad cops are keeping an eye on Sania Mirza’s residence; have also instructed immigration officials to not let Shoaib leave the country without their consent.

 

God bless Space, 4 female astronauts at 1 time

Geneva, April 05: SPACE is about to have a female population explosion, with four women set to be in orbit at the same time.

This week NASA will attempt to launch three women to the International Space Station, where they will join another woman who is already circling earth in a Russian capsule.

It will be the most women in space at the one time.

The astronauts are a former schoolteacher, a chemist who once worked as an electrician and two aerospace engineers.

7 visas issued for Shoaib

Lahore, April 01: Seven visas for India have been issued to Shoaib Malik’s family.

Family sources of Shoaib Malik told Geo News that among the persons issued the visa are Shoaib’s mother, brother, sister, brother-in-law and children while one of his sisters and a few close relatives have applied for Indian visa from Germany.

Sources said that as the marriage will take place on April 11, the Shoaib’s family will leave for Hyderabad Deccan three days earlier for attending other wedding rituals and both families are finalizing dates in this regard.

US can’t rule the world alone: Sarkozy

Paris, March 31: FRENCH President Nicolas Sarkozy has called for US economic reforms and, in comments echoing Franco-American spats of the past, said Washington cannot “run the world” alone.

The French leader used a visit to New York today, where he met with students at Columbia University, to deliver what he called “home truths” to his hosts.

Sarkozy, accompanied by his wife Carla Bruni, a former supermodel, was in New York a day before meeting President Barack Obama at the White House in Washington on Tuesday.
