Governor ESL Narasimhan has taken a serious view of the scam in the APPSC.

With media exposing the irregularities at regular intervals, the first citizen said that he will get the detailed report on the incident. He said that appropriate action will be taken after going through the report. (INN)

APPSC is full of scams: KTR

TRS leader K Tarakarama Rao has said that the State Public Service Commission (APPSC) is full of scams and demanded a review on the appointments.

“The Service Commission is full of scams and the government should order a review on the appointments made for the past 15 years,” he told reporters here on Thursday. The irregularities in APPSC have been serialized by media of late and a television channel has shown some material with proper evidence involving the officials.

The Commission has approached the ACB to order an inquiry into the findings.

YSRCP-TDP workers clash

A clash broke out between the workers of YSRCP and TDP at Banglapur in V Kot mandal here on Thursday.

The clash occurred when YSRCP MLA Amarnath Reddy was on a “Gadapa gadapaku YSR” programme touring the villages. There was heated argument between the two groups and when tempers ran high there was a clash.

GHMC to home deliver digital birth certificates

GHMC Mayor Mohammed Majid Hussain and Commissioner MT Krishna Babu on Thursday said that the digital birth certificates will be sent to the parents directly to their houses through courier at free of cost.

The Commissioner said that the GHMC Mayor will launch this programme on 10th June for the convenience of the parents along with the details of the vaccination schedule so as to come up on time. The hospital authorities will also inform the parents a day before on the mobile phone as per the information given by the parents in the hospital.

NDMA to implement emergency management exercise in AP

National Disaster Management Authority member Dr Muzaffar Ahmad informed that the NDMA was very keen to implement the Model of Emergency Management Exercises (EMEx) in Andhra Pradesh along with Bihar and Assam in the towards Strengthening Emergency Preparedness and Response to meet the challenges of natural and manmade calamities (Cyclone and Bomb Blasts etc).

Entrance exam for PG diploma in packaging

The IIP entrance exam for admission into PG diploma in packaging offered by Indian Institute of Packaging will be held on June 20, in Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkatta and Delhi.

The last date to apply is June 10. Application forms are available at all centres of IIP. Science Graduate (12+3) with Physics, Chemistry, Maths, Microbiology subjects are eligible.

Strongly condemning the expulsion of D L Ravindra Reddy from cabinet, Congress MLA Dr. Shankar Rao complained of chief minister’s dictatorship by sending a letter to party president Sonia Gandhi and prime minister Manmohan Singh.

He accused CM of being involved in Sandal smuggling in the state and claimed that chief minister Kiran Kumar Reddy’s attitude is proving harmful for the party.

It must be noted that the Reddy group of Congress leaders are unhappy with the unceremonious dismissal of D.L. Ravindra Reddy from the Cabinet.

Urdu Ghar in final phase of construction

The one of its kind, the state of the art, auditorium in old city Hyderabad will soon be opened for Urdu people. The construction of the Urdu Ghar, constructed with the cost of Rs. 1.5 crore at Moti Gali is in its final phase and is likely to be inaugurated soon. The state of the art Urdu Ghar can rightly be called as the Ravindra Bharti of old city.

The two storied building constructed on an area of 2200 sqyd has two auditoriums and two functions can be organized at a time. The large auditorium has a capacity of 450 audiences while the smaller one has a seating capacity for 100 people.

Mubashiruddin Khurram elected vice president HUJ

Elections for Hyderabad Union of Working Journalist (HUJ) a sub-organisation of Andhra Pradesh Union of working Journalist (APUWJ) were held. The authorities of the new organization were elected unopposed.

Mr. V Yadgiri was elected as president HUJ while Mohammed Mubashiruddin Khurram staff reporter Siasat was elected as vice president. The other vice presidents include Mr. Taher Romani, Mr. N Srinivas Reddy, Mr. T Nagraj Gupta, Mr. E Chandrasekhar and Mrs. V Manjula.

Mohammed Shareef was elected as treasurer. A total of 20 board members were elected.

BIE revises inter first year second language syllabus

The Board of Intermediate Education on Wednesday informed all the Principals, Lecturers and Students of Intermediate Education that there has been a revision of syllabi and textbooks of second languages in Telugu, Hindi, Urdu, Sanskrit, Arabic and French under Part-II for first year Intermediate course from the academic year 2013-14.

No alliance with anti-Telangana parties: BJP

Senior BJP leader M Venkaiah Naidu on Wednesday announced that his party would not have electoral alliance with any party which is opposed to the formation of separate Telangana.

Talking to reporters here, Venkaiah Naidu reiterated that the BJP would grant statehood for Telangana region if it gets majority in next elections. However, it would influence all NDA partners to support the Telangana after it returns to power in 2014 elections.

Venkaiah Naidu appealed to the people to reject the parties who were opposed to Telangana in next elections.

Over two lakh qualify for engineering admission in Andhra

Over two lakh students have qualified for admission into engineering colleges in Andhra Pradesh while nearly 89,000 have become eligible for studying medicine and agriculture.

The results of Engineering, Agriculture and Medical Common Entrance Test (EAMCET) were declared Wednesday by Deputy Chief Minister Damodar Rajanarasimha, also the minister for higher and technical education.

The pass percentage in the engineering stream was 72.67 percent and in medicine 80.79 percent.

Four Maoists surrender in AP

Four Maoists including a husband-wife and another couple today surrendered before the police in Andhra Pradesh’s Prakasam and Khammam districts. Maoists – Arun and his companion Uma – eloped and came out of the dalam and surrendered before the police today, Khammam District Superintendent of Police S V Ranganath told PTI over phone. Arun, carrying Rs 4 lakh on his head, was working for the past nine years with Special Guerilla Squad of Maoists, which is also considered to the rank of Area Committee Member (ACM), the SP said, adding that Uma was carrying a cash reward of Rs 1 lakh.
