A man’s body was found hanging from a tree near Jeevan Bima Nagar police station on Thursday night.

According to the police the person, aged around 35, has North-Eastern features. However, no fine points were found to reveal his identity. Passersby said they had seen him roaming in the streets a couple of days ago.

On thursday night, he climbed the tree and hanged himself with a cable wire, the police suspect. Around 12.30 am, a two-wheeler rider noticed the body and alerted the police.

A 40-year-old woman was murdered allegedly by her two relatives over a property dispute in front of her ailing father in Cottonpet police limits on Friday evening.

The victim was identified as Geetha, was a resident of K Veerabhadrappa Lane, Akkipet.

According to police, her two relatives – Narendra Kumar and Jithendra surrendered before the police hours after the murder and said that they hacked her to death due to a property dispute.

International Airport police on thursday arrested a Russian woman and her friend for possessing a satellite mobile phone. However, they were released after completing the legal formalities.

The police arrested Volga D, 51, and her friend after a satellite mobile phone was found in their bag. Volga told the police that she was unaware of the Indian law that bans carrying such a set.

The Confederation of Central Government Employees and Workers – Karnataka State, has announced a 48-hour nationwide strike on February 12 and 13.

The participant in the strike include the employees from the Accounts, Postal, Audit, Income Tax, Survey of India, , Geological Survey of India, Ground Water Board, Central Excise among 40 Central Government departments, said a press release from the organisation.

Shiv Menon, Sunanda Pushkar’s son on Tuesday issued a statement ruling out foul play and gave a clean chit to his step father and Union Minister Shashi Tharoor.

Shiv Menon stated that Sunanda was too strong to commit suicide, the letter added that her death was an “unfortunate mix of stress, tension and wrong medication.” It further stated: “Her death was peaceful, she passed in her sleep.”

A speeding car mowed down a security guard and injured two others after it collide with an electricity pole near RV Engineering College on Sunday night.

The deceased has been identified as Manu, 41, resident of Mutturayanagar .He was working as a security guard at a private automobile showroom on Mysore Road.

According to police, Sanjeev, a resident of Byatarayanapura and a BSc student, was overspeeding, and lost control over the bike when he drove over a road hump. Sanjeev died on the spot.
