According to stuff.co.nz, pregnancy symptoms topped the list for the second year in a row followed by influenza and diabetes, while HIV symptoms featured on the sixth position.

According to a UK website, contestants have sent their images to the Chinese blogging site Weibo.com.

In an extremely rare case, a 28-year-old woman in Madhya Pradesh delivered 10 babies – but all stillborn, a doctor said Monday.

Anju Kushwaha from Koti village in Satna district was being taken to the Sanjay Gandhi Memorial hospital, 125 km away in neighbouring Rewa district, after she went into labour but she delivered nine stillborn babies on the way.

A doctor attending to the woman said the medical team was awestruck when Anju’s husband Sanjay presented before them the nine stillborn babies.

Delhi school girls to get self-defence training

Girls in 14 schools in the national capital will soon be trained in self-defence as part of a programme organised jointly by Delhi Police and a power distribution company.

“BSES Yamuna Power Limited (BYPL) has partnered Delhi Police Special Unit for Women and Children, Nanakpura, to impart self-defence training to school students (girls) and young women,” a statement from BSES said.

The 10-day training programme will begin from schools in east and central Delhi.

Breast cancer patients should exercise to ease drug-related joint pain

Women being treated with breast cancer drugs known as aromatase inhibitors could ease the joint pain associated with the drugs by engaging in moderate daily exercise, according to a study.

The study, scheduled for presentation Thursday, Dec. 12, at 10:00 a.m., CT in San Antonio, Texas, involved 121 postmenopausal women who were taking aromatase inhibitors for breast cancer and who rated their joint pain as mild or greater on a standard pain-evaluation questionnaire.

An 82-year-old Colombian woman, who was rushed to hospital after complaining of abdominal pains, was found to be carrying a 40-year-old foetus inside her.

The woman is suffering from a rare case of lithopaedion or “stone baby”, where the foetus does not develop in the uterus because it has moved elsewhere, the Daily Star reported.
